Maumi Ikebukuro is located a short walk from JR Ikebukuro Station West Exit in Toshima Ward, Tokyo. Nearby, you can find places like Nishi-Ikebukuro Post Office, Ikebukuro Marui, Rikkyo University, and various restaurants such as Formosa Ikebukuro, 300 Yen Honpo Dandan, Musashinoya Ikebukuro, Kitchen ABC Nishi-Ikebukuro, Elbis, Mongolian Tanmen Nakamoto Nishi-Ikebukuro, Musashino Abura Gakuin Ikebukuro, Sushi Kagayaki, Daikoku Soba, Nakayoshi, Tateyama, 300 B ONE, Yang 2nd Branch, GARA Spice Restaurant Ikebukuro, Casa Del Guapo, Malay Chan, and more. I visited Maumi Ikebukuro for the first time on June 15, 2017. The restaurant has both traditional tatami seating and table seating, with the latter being more common. Free Wi-Fi is available inside. The clientele consists mostly of young people, and Western music and K-POP can be heard playing in the background. Upon being seated, I was served cold tea. I tried the Komtang Kuppa, priced at 800 yen including tax. It is a dish consisting of oxtail soup with rice. The portion of rice was slightly larger than usual. The ingredients in the Komtang included oxtail, leeks, carrots, and Chinese chives. The soup has a mild and comforting flavor, with the oxtail being tender and flavorful. The meal also came with a side salad of burdock and carrots, as well as kimchi. Komtang is said to be good for those with weak stomachs. Delicious.

I ordered the beef tongue, hormone, and a platter of 5 different types of meat, and they were delicious. The staff kindly taught me how to cook them to perfection. Although there is no separate smoking area, the ventilation for grilling helps reduce the smoke, so it's not as bothersome as other izakayas.

I visited for the first time! There are yakitori shops, teppanyaki, ramen, and a dining district on the outskirts of the west exit, and it is located in the middle of it all! The yakiniku was delicious overall, and the horumon and harami were also tasty! The egg soup was an authentic Korean-style one! I ordered the upper tongue for the beef tongue, but it was a bit small and lacked chewiness, so the thick cut might be better. The staff were polite and helpful.

Yakiniku is justice⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝♡︎ I visited for the first time♪ What I ate: - Chorogi salad - Thick-cut tongue with salt - Senmai (beef intestine) sashimi - Assorted meat sushi - Maruchou piri spicy glass noodles - Kimchi pancake - Yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) - Jjajang soup - Stone pot bibimbap - Black bean makgeolli It was my first time visiting, and there were many creative dishes and rare cuts to choose from. So I started with some common choices... The thick-cut tongue with salt was delicious~♡♡♡ The green onion sauce was irresistible... The juiciness and perfect chewiness make you want to drink more alcohol... I always order the Senmai sashimi♡ I love the unique texture and spicy miso flavor. And then, the meat sushi... Rare cuts seared generously on top of the rice! Every cut was incredibly delicious~♡♡♡ The chili peppers weren't too spicy (of course, haha). And here comes the big discovery! I've only had regular makgeolli before and ignored it, but the black bean makgeolli is delicious!!!! The aroma that doesn't feel too sweet makes it easy to drink... I'll choose this one next time I see it♪ Finally, I finished with the stone pot bibimbap... "You're still eating?!" they laughed, but I devoured it all ( ˙༥˙ ) haha. It was simply delicious~! I had Yukkejang Kuppa. It wasn't too spicy, so maybe it could have been spicier? It was delicious with lots of vegetables! The price of 780 yen is neither high nor low. It seems to get decent customers during weekday lunchtime. The food was served promptly after ordering, so even if you're hungry, you won't get irritated. The Samgyetang looks delicious, so I might try that next time!

It's about a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro West Exit, and the location may be a little hard to find. The prices are generally low, but everything was delicious! The atmosphere is very homey and cozy, making it a place where you can easily stop by. Thank you for the meal.

Located about a 6-minute walk from Ikebukuro West Exit. Four of us used it as a second place at 7:30 pm. At this point, all the table seats were full. The atmosphere is like a small, cozy, homey Korean BBQ restaurant that you often see in Korean dramas. However, the prices on the menu were surprisingly high. There is a vinyl curtain next to it for COVID-19 prevention. A shichirin grill is brought to the table. Below are the items we ordered: - Nejangtan (offal soup hot pot) (¥900) - Maumi platter (marinated) (¥2,250) - Tan salt platter (¥1,980) - Hile (¥1,980) - Tomo triangle (¥1,880) - Upper harami (¥1,650) - Kim Nam platter (¥680) - Seafood chijimi (¥900) - Stone-grilled cheese bibimbap (¥1,100) We also drank "nama makgeolli" (¥1,500) continuously. We had 5 bottles among the four of us. Be careful, the whiskey is very weak! We didn't have high expectations based on the atmosphere of the restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat. It's also great that you can drink until late. Despite being on the first floor, the mobile signal may be weak depending on the carrier, so be careful!

Lunch use. I haven't had yakiniku, but I'll write about it just in case. Located on the block across from the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Ikebukuro West Exit. It's on a gourmet street with low recognition even among locals. The entrance is a bit hard to find as it is towards the back. I had the "Sullungtang Lunch Set" (980 yen) + "Jangajji" (495 yen) - as shown in the photo. It's a type that is seasoned with salt from the beginning, so the taste is somewhat strong. It was described as "Sullungtang soup with achilles, shin, and cheek meat", but I couldn't really feel the accent of the meat pieces. It all seemed to have the atmosphere of shin meat. The expression "Sullungtang soup" itself felt a bit off. It felt like the soup was doubled. The lunch set also comes with rice, kakuteki, and a small side dish, which was unexpectedly a Japanese-style rolled omelette. The Jangajji was garlic and sesame oil flavored. Of course, there was also chili pepper, but more than that, there was garlic. The flavors were clear and bold, but lacked the delicate depth and sophistication that I like in Sullungtang. However, I ate it normally. Thank you for the meal. I eat Sullungtang and Sullungtang at various restaurants, but there are few places that express the delicate flavor of the broth. Also, when the seasoning of salt surpasses the original flavor of the broth, I feel it's a waste. Just adding a pinch of salt to hot water can already taste delicious... I had delicious hormone in Ikebukuro! It's located about 4-5 minutes walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, and I highly recommend it. The fresh liver and various types of hormone were delicious. The tongue was also good. I was surprised by the large size of the drinks. It's a place I want to visit again. Thank you.

The restaurant is located near the Parco behind Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Geijutsu Gekijou. There is a balloon outside that gives the impression of a pachinko parlor, which was a bit unsettling. Despite having made a reservation, I decided to visit without changing my plans. Upon entering, the entrance felt like a snack bar and there was a strong smell of charcoal. After alcohol and temperature checks, I was seated at a table. The restaurant was quite empty, with only one other group present. The staff seemed disinterested, as they were not attentive and I had to go to the kitchen to place my order. The first impression of the beer was not good, but when I mentioned it to the staff, they quickly replaced it. The appetizers were good, especially the Namul and Kimchi platter. The grilled meats were decent, with the liver being a standout. The salad was average, and the tail rice porridge was delicious. The highball was refreshing, although the carbonation varied. Overall, the experience was mixed, with some dishes being tasty while others fell short.

I went for lunch at the end of the whole experience - I liked the atmosphere of the yakiniku lunch, so I came here. The main seating in the restaurant is tables, and it was quite crowded even after 1 pm. I was in the mood for meat, so I ordered the stone-grilled yakiniku rice dish that seemed to have the most volume. After a while, a hot stone pot with meat and rice, like stone-grilled bibimbap, was served. The portion was quite generous, so it's recommended for those who want to eat heartily. The menu mentioned salt-grilled meat, but the flavor was more garlic-like and memorable. You can also enjoy crispy rice. The meat was tender and delicious, but after eating about half, I started to get a little bored. It might be a bit boring as it's just rice and meat the whole time. The kuppah my girlfriend was eating had lots of ingredients, was satisfying, and looked delicious. I think I'll try that next time. It's a good place to go occasionally. Thank you for the meal.

I was watching a TV show where they were eating Yukkejang Kuppa, and it made me crave it. So, I searched for a yakiniku restaurant on Tabelog and decided to give it a try. Even though I was tempted to order yakiniku, I resisted and opted for the Nejangtan lunch set. It came with a soup containing horumon, which is not common for lunch menus. The spiciness was mild and just right. The soup had various types of horumon, making it very satisfying and delicious. Next time, I'll come when I'm really hungry and order the yakiniku lunch along with Nejangtan. Thank you for the delicious meal.

There is an old yakiniku restaurant located at the west exit of Ikebukuro. It seems that various customers have visited, but the owner's hospitality is wonderful. They are flexible in dealing with small children in various situations, which I was impressed by. The meat is delicious, and the comtan has a gentle flavor which was perfect for finishing. If you are nearby, be sure to give it a try!

Check out the bill: 1,000 yen per person. Had a delicious yakiniku lunch at "Mau Mi" in Ikebukuro! It was surprisingly tasty for just 1,000 yen (lol). The A5 wagyu beef melts in your mouth! The best part was not having to wait long to be seated. ^ ^

The food was incredibly delicious, but I wished the order of serving was considered and felt that the portion was a bit small. The meat was tender and juicy, making it really tasty. The lettuce was super delicious, but the meat was so good that it slightly overshadowed the lettuce. I would love to go back again.

Thank you for accommodating our last-minute change in the reservation number when one of our friends got sick with COVID-19. We had originally planned to go together. The course we reserved with all-you-can-drink for 5,500 yen per person was a great value and the food was satisfying.

I have visited this restaurant several times because it's close to my workplace, but this is my first time writing a review. I think this is my 7th or 8th visit. I have tried dishes like Yukgaejang, Gomtang, Seolleongtang, Neujangtang, Samgyetang, Neujangtang, Gori Tang with salt, and Gori Tang with salt, and today I tried Sundubu for the first time. Oh, maybe it's my 9th visit? Until now, everything I tried was delicious, but the Sundubu was tasty, but the soup was boiling hot while the tofu inside was cold... it left me feeling a bit disappointed.

I'm happy that they use charcoal fire, but the amount of meat is too small. I wish they would cut the meat bigger so that I can fully enjoy the taste of the meat. There are many cost-effective restaurants in Ikebukuro. I wonder if there is one worth revisiting.
