Located about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Higashi-Ginza Station, this tonkatsu restaurant, which is very popular for its chicken cutlet, is a must-visit spot. Today, I had a sudden visit to a client in Shimbashi, and the meeting ended around 5:15 pm. Normally, I would have dinner at a restaurant near Shimbashi Station before heading home, but since it was a Friday evening, I decided to extend my journey to the restaurant in Higashi-Ginza that I had bookmarked on Tabelog. I arrived at the restaurant around 5:45 pm after walking there on foot to get some exercise. The opening time was 6:00 pm, and there were already two groups of people waiting in line in front of the restaurant, so I joined as the third person in line and waited for the opening time while reading a paperback book. The restaurant opened exactly at 6:00 pm, and when I informed the staff that I was dining alone, I was seated at a table for two near the kitchen. Looking at the menu, they offered various options like the Special Pork Cutlet Set (2,300 yen), Special Fillet Cutlet Set (2,300 yen), Famous Chicken Cutlet Set (1,700 yen), Pork Cutlet Set (1,700 yen), Mixed Fry Set (2,300 yen), Garlic Pork Cutlet Set (2,000 yen), Miso Cutlet Set (2,000 yen), Homemade Jumbo Menchi Cutlet Set (1,700 yen), Imakatsu Curry (2,000 yen, small: 1,200 yen), and Large Shrimp Fry Set (2,300 yen). Although the Special Pork Cutlet Set looked tempting, I came to try the Famous Chicken Cutlet Set. I considered ordering a soft drink (each 400 yen) as well, but it would exceed 2,000 yen, so I decided to be thrifty and just ordered the Famous Chicken Cutlet Set. The staff promptly brought a plate of cabbage, which was free for refills, and recommended eating it with sesame dressing. I followed their advice and enjoyed the cabbage. After 7-8 minutes of ordering, the Famous Chicken Cutlet Set arrived. The chicken cutlet had a beautiful golden color, and the three pieces were cut diagonally into two. I tried the chicken cutlet with some salt, and it was incredibly tender and juicy, unlike the dry texture of typical chicken cutlets. It was delicious, just as it looked. Despite being a tonkatsu restaurant, it was understandable that there were many female customers. I asked for extra rice (large) and cabbage, and I was fully satisfied with the portion. I highly recommend everyone to try the Famous Chicken Cutlet Set.
