I went for lunch on Sunday without a reservation. Just two of us, we entered as soon as the restaurant opened. When we arrived a little before opening, there was already one group waiting. We thought we were the second group and wouldn't have to wait, but there were also customers with reservations who had to wait in the waiting area. The interior of the restaurant had a folk art style, with sturdy wooden tables and spacious seating. The menu was also quite extensive. We ordered a combination of pork cutlet and oyster fry. It was a happy menu because we could eat both of our favorites. We had to wait quite a bit for our order to be served. In the meantime, we had some salad. It was quite nice that they placed a teapot of hot tea on our table. We could choose between white rice and mixed rice, and we chose mixed rice. We also had refills, which we took advantage of. It was delicious. I accidentally poured sauce on my pork cutlet, but they also provided a small bowl for the sauce. I was so engrossed in the fry that I didn't notice. The crispy coating and tender pork cutlet were amazing. The oysters were large. I thought they were fried together, but it seemed like they were fried individually. They were very satisfying to eat. It was heavenly. Both the rice and the fry were delicious. We stayed for just under an hour, and when we left, there was quite a wait, so it seems like entering as soon as the restaurant opens is a good idea. Thank you for the meal.

The lingering summer heat is intense, so I came here to enjoy a refreshing chilled katsu-don. There seem to be a few empty tables, but they mainly operate on a waiting system. Impatient people might get frustrated. The combination of dashi and grated yam is invigorating. It's delicious in its own way. However, I still think the shiso rice and tonkatsu might be more appealing.

I was curious so I stopped by. You can drink and eat tonkatsu as well. They also have hamburgers and steak. It's good for families or large groups because the tables are spacious. Today, I felt like eating tonkatsu. The low-temperature cooked tonkatsu was tender with a crispy coating. The cabbage on a separate plate seemed a bit lackluster. Maybe it's better to just focus on the tonkatsu? A bit disappointing.

I went to Katsu Yoshi in Suidobashi to bite into a natural jumbo shrimp fry <1 piece> and two bite-sized pork cutlets <2 pieces> before starting my summer vacation tomorrow. It had been 15 years since I last visited this branch, usually going to the one in Shibuya. I ordered the natural jumbo shrimp fry <1 piece> and two bite-sized pork cutlets <2 pieces> for 3300 yen. The salad, pickles, and tartar sauce were served first. The blue shiso rice was also brought out. The natural jumbo shrimp fry <1 piece> and two bite-sized pork cutlets <2 pieces> were delicious, with the shrimp being huge and the pork cutlets having a great texture. Cutting into the shrimp fry and taking a bite was pure happiness. The shrimp was so fresh and tasty. I was completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

A long-established tonkatsu restaurant near Mizutobashi. Visited around 19:30 on a weekday (Wednesday) without making a reservation. The restaurant was about 50-60% full, but there was one very loud group of customers that made it feel like a lively izakaya. Unfortunately, this dampened the experience and caused quite a bit of stress.
I ordered the following:
- Domestic brand pork fillet cutlet set meal (premium) for 3,100 yen
First, a salad (cabbage), pickles, chilled dish, and 3 types of condiments were served. After waiting for about 20 minutes from ordering, the main dish, the "fillet cutlet," arrived with rice and miso soup. However... the thick fillet meat of the domestic brand pork (Iwachu pork?) was not utilized well, resulting in a dry and tough cutlet. Furthermore, contrary to my expectations from a long-established tonkatsu restaurant, the underside of the breading was soggy, as mentioned in other reviews. I was genuinely surprised as it had been a long time (if ever) since I had encountered such tonkatsu. Despite the delicious "shiso rice" and rich "red miso soup," the quality of the cutlet for the price was disappointing, making a return visit unlikely.

I have been to the Shibuya branch before, but this was my first time at the Suidobashi location. This place is highly recommended for its deliciousness and generous portions. It is also conveniently close to Tokyo Dome, so I saw some people stopping by after events. I have only been here for lunch, but I definitely want to come back. The shrimp fry is huge!

I explored for lunch near Tokyo Dome and discovered a tonkatsu restaurant with no line. The interior had a traditional atmosphere, with spacious seating suitable for entertaining. The menu was like that of Bikkuri Donkey. The lunch was cost-effective and the atmosphere was great. In the evening, they serve izakaya-style dishes along with tonkatsu. I ordered the limited 20 servings of the 3-item set, which included pork cutlet, shrimp cutlet, and cream croquette. The meal also came with cabbage, side dishes (kimchi, pickles, pickled vegetables), and rice. You can have unlimited refills of everything except the main dish. The pork cutlet was light and refreshing, the shrimp cutlet was plump and served with tartar sauce, and the cream croquette was average. The atmosphere was nice and although it was slightly pricey, it was worth it for lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Visited at 11:10. Did not make a reservation, so had to wait a bit at the reception before being seated. Several tables were already occupied. The restaurant was spacious and didn't feel like a typical tonkatsu place. Atmosphere was great, service was excellent. The menu was a bit hard to read as the pictures were not clear. The food was unique and quite delicious. However, the portion was too big and couldn't finish it. For women, even a smaller portion might be too much. Overall, I had a good experience and would like to visit again.

I tried "Hiyashi Katsudon" for the first time, which I had been interested in for a while! At first, I was a bit skeptical when I saw ice floating in the bowl, thinking it might taste watery. However, when I tried it, I was surprised by the smooth texture and delicate yet flavorful taste. I think it might be slightly solidified with agar or something. The fried pork cutlet was crispy, not soggy. If you're curious, I recommend giving it a try.

This was my first visit. I had work nearby so I had lunch with the staff. I usually go for the pork cutlet, but I couldn't find it on the lunch menu, so I tried the unusual menu item called "Hiyashi Katsu Don." It came with all-you-can-eat salad and pickles, but I was in a hurry and ate quickly. The retro atmosphere inside the restaurant is lovely, and I would like to come back and enjoy a meal at a more leisurely pace next time. Thank you for the meal!

On Sunday around 1 pm, we had to wait for about 30 minutes as there were 5 groups ahead of us. We enjoyed salad and pickles while waiting, and it took about 15 minutes from ordering until our tonkatsu arrived. I had the fillet katsu, while my husband had the loin katsu with grated ponzu sauce. The total came to 5300 yen. The fillet katsu was thickly cut but very tender and delicious. It might be the most satisfying fillet katsu I've ever had! You can choose between white rice or shiso rice. Also, you can have unlimited refills of rice and red miso soup. However, I thought it might be a bit luxurious to eat here before going to watch a baseball game!

The inside of the restaurant was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. I visited with my family and ordered the 200g Wagyu hamburger steak set, which was delicious with tender and juicy meat! The pickles were refillable, which was great! My family ordered the loin cutlet set, handmade cutlet set, and katsu-don, so I tried a bite of each and they were all tender and delicious!

Katsuyoshi at Suitengumae offers a chilled katsu bowl. The restaurant is located in the city center, but the underground interior has a cozy atmosphere and is quite spacious. We ordered from the extensive menu and enjoyed various high-quality tonkatsu dishes. The summer limited edition chilled katsu bowl was unexpectedly delicious.

The lunch was generous in portion size. The large cutlet was crispy and easy to eat. The miso soup and pickles were delicious as well. From the table next to mine, I could hear a woman telling her companion, "Try this," but I couldn't finish my own meal. The teapot, cups, and plates had a luxurious yet nostalgic Japanese design, creating a nostalgic atmosphere that felt like stepping back in time inside the restaurant.

This standard tonkatsu restaurant offers great value for money. I visited on a weekday evening without a reservation and was able to enter smoothly. In addition to the tonkatsu, the cabbage, pickles, rice, and miso soup are all refillable! I think it's a great deal. The tonkatsu is also delicious, with tender meat. I would like to visit again!

The hand-kneaded cutlet lunch was 1400 yen. I mistakenly thought it was tonkatsu, but it turned out to be menchi-katsu. In the end, it was a good result. It seems like they hand-knead diced pork and coarsely ground pork. Despite the meaty texture, it was quite delicious with a lot of meat juice. The salad, pickles, red miso soup, and shiso rice were all refillable, so I was very satisfied. I'm curious about the regular tonkatsu and hamburger too. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Katsukichi Mizuhashi, a restaurant famous for its tonkatsu. I came alone for lunch, as this place had high ratings on Tabelog. Being a well-established and popular restaurant, the prices were quite high. I had high expectations for the taste. I ordered the lunch set with loin katsu, cream croquette, and shrimp katsu for 2,200 yen. The loin katsu was small and quite oily on the back, making me feel like I might get heartburn. The cream croquette was average. The shrimp katsu was also just okay. There was no lemon provided, maybe they forgot. The service from the foreign staff was polite, while the Japanese staff seemed mechanical. Overall, I found this restaurant to be mediocre. The saying "be cautious of well-established places" came to mind. That's all.

Located right in front of Rakua, just a short walk from Suitengumae Station, this tonkatsu restaurant is a favorite spot of mine that I have been visiting for years. The prices are reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious. This time, I chose the assorted set meal with shrimp katsu. The shrimp katsu was a bit dry, not my favorite, but the tonkatsu was as delicious as always - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The set meal also comes with red miso soup, rice, and side dishes that you can refill, so I left satisfied.

I had the 150g pork loin cutlet set meal. The meat was thick and very tender, with the fat of the loin melting in my mouth. It made me feel happy. You can choose between white rice and shiso rice, and you can have unlimited refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. There are plenty of pickles, but they are a bit salty, and the kimchi may not go well with the tonkatsu.

I went to Suidobashi to experience the amazing Tonkatsu restaurant that my friend recommended! Even though I couldn't make a reservation in advance, I was able to be seated at the counter around 11:00. The Hirekatsu is famous, but it wasn't included in the daily lunch specials, so I ordered it separately. I had the option of white rice or shiso rice. The fried dish was very light and I didn't feel heavy afterwards. The portion was huge and I left feeling very full!

Tonkatsu restaurant located within a 5-minute walk from Suidobashi Station. I visited for lunch before a dome game on the weekend. ⚾️ (It's close to Tokyo Dome and has plenty of seating, making it a quick meal option before a baseball game. Highly recommended) ▼Ordered items: - Iwajun Tonkatsu Set (160g) ... 2,000 yen (tax included) → They offer regular sauce and spicy sauce. - Yanagawa-style Katsudon → Choose between pork loin or fillet. Loin for 1,900 yen (tax included), Fillet for 2,000 yen (tax included). → Comes with simmered udon underneath! It had a gentle flavor. Rice, miso soup, salad, and pickles are all-you-can-eat ☺︎ I ended up getting seconds of the salad and pickles, so I'm full from eating a lot. Thank you for the meal ☺︎
