I have been there a few times when I lived in Fukuoka since it was close to my place! However, they often had temporary closures, so I don't have many memories of it... I visited while I was in the area for something else and tried their most popular dish, the black garlic oil ramen. It was okay, not bad at all!

I went to Hakata Shinfu at the Ramen Avenue under the Yaesu exit of Yurakucho Station. I chose this shop because there was a photo at the entrance. It's self-service, and you order by vibrating the device. I added pickled ginger and sesame before bringing it to the table. The toppings include tomato, shredded omelet, chashu, cucumber, and unusual bonito flakes. The noodles are 1.5 servings, but it doesn't feel very filling. The soup has a citrusy acidity, which is not to my liking, but it's just average.

It was delicious, but to be frank, it was not a ramen that I would repeat ordering. I ordered the "New-style Tonkotsu All Black" ramen with extra bean sprouts as a topping. The soup was tasty, but it lacked depth or a special touch. I didn't feel the urge to add spicy pickled mustard greens or red pickled ginger to change the flavor. The pork chashu was tough and chewy, leaving a lingering taste in my mouth. I prefer thinner noodles, as the ones served were a bit too thick for my liking. The garlic and red pickled ginger were placed next to the cash register, which made it hard to relax and take them without feeling rushed if there were other customers waiting. Personally, I prefer Ippudo ramen and tend to go back there often, so I tend to compare the two. However, as I mentioned at the beginning, I don't think I will be coming back to this place.

This is my third time reviewing this place. I stopped by here during a weekday afternoon when I had some extra time. It was a bit before 12 o'clock and the place was not too crowded. I ordered the regular ramen and the extra firm ramen. I chose the extra noodles option as part of the lunch service, which also comes with either extra noodles or gyoza. The price difference between the regular (normal soup) and the black (with garlic oil) used to be around 70 yen, but now both are priced at 850 yen. The noodles here, especially the extra firm ones, go really well with the soup. The soup has a rich broth and a strong umami flavor. The base soup is well-balanced with a high concentration of flavors. Lately, I've been having lighter types of ramen, so this heavy flavor feels a bit overwhelming. Ordering the extra firm noodles makes a big difference compared to the regular ones, as they are softer. The chashu is moist and quite tasty. There are plenty of wood ear mushrooms in the bowl. Overall, I feel that the lunchtime service is a great deal, but I wonder if this intense flavor is an acquired taste.

On this day, my mouth was craving for Hakata tonkotsu ramen, so I decided to come to this place nearby with good reviews. I ordered the Shinpu tonkotsu ramen for 850 yen. Although the black garlic oil is more associated with Kumamoto, I really liked the flavor of the black garlic oil. The firm thin noodles, rich and salty soup, this was exactly the taste I was looking for. When you eat what you want to eat when you want to eat it, of course it tastes delicious. I was satisfied, but whether this ramen stands in the realm of Hakata tonkotsu ramen is another question. At the very least, it doesn't disappoint when you're craving Hakata tonkotsu ramen. The restaurant itself is a food court style with three other shops, so it's decent.

Under the guard underpass from Yurakucho to Shinbashi. Part of OKUROJI maybe? There is an area called Ramen Avenue where you can feel like you're eating ramen in New York. It consists of three ramen shops and a bar-like setting. One of them is Hakata Shinfu's tonkotsu ramen. The slightly spicy oil adds flavor to the rich tonkotsu soup, which pairs well with the thin noodles. At first, I underestimated it as a food court, but it was actually quite delicious!

Hakata Tonkotsu Shiro Special Deluxe Ramen with All Toppings was delicious. The restaurant is located a few minutes' walk from Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro. I visited at 8 pm on a weekday. I was in the mood for tonkotsu ramen that day. The bowl was filled with lots of toppings. It was a satisfying meal.

The restaurant in Yurakucho station is easy to enter as it is not crowded. However, the ramen felt like it was made in a simple kitchen like a food court's pop-up shop. It felt a bit lonely. It's good that there are table seats, so it seems enjoyable for a group of people. It might be a good place to visit if you're feeling hungry after drinking.

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen White ¥850 (with the lunch set, you can get 1 extra serving of noodles for free). It had been about two years since my last visit, and this was my second time here. Overall, it was my seventh time having ramen. I came for lunch at an odd time and couldn't go far from work, so I decided to visit this place which is relatively close to my workplace. This place is like a mini complex, with "Shinfu" ramen as well as "Chuka Soba Fukumori" and "Kanazawa Miso Ramen Shinsen" in the same location. There is only one entrance to the avenue, and you order at each booth and receive a buzzer to be called when your food is ready. When the buzzer goes off, you go to the counter to pick up your order. There are no condiments or customization items at the seating area, so if you want to add red pepper or anything else, you have to request it at the counter when picking up your order. I ordered the noodles "firm." The soup had a good creamy texture and was rich in flavor and umami. The toppings included plenty of crunchy wood ear mushrooms. I thought about adding extra wood ear mushrooms, but the default amount was actually quite generous, so it was enough. The noodles I ordered were flavorful and delicious. I also ordered an extra serving of noodles, cooked very firm. I tried a few bites of the extra noodles without putting them in the soup first, then added red pepper and chili oil for a few more bites. The noodles were indeed delicious. Finally, I put the extra noodles in the soup for the finishing touch.

Hibiya [Hakata Tonkotsu Shinfu] Cooked with plenty of pork bones, the thick soup is served with springy noodles!! I usually add wood ear mushrooms to my pork bone ramen, but the surface tends to be mostly covered with mushrooms, so I resisted on this day haha. Ramen Avenue, each bowl has its own unique flavor and is delicious!!

I enjoyed the authentic Hakata ramen from the popular Fukuoka Hakata restaurant "Hakata Shinfu" in Hibiya. The rich flavor of the pork bone broth and the thin, firm noodles made for a delicious combination. The restaurant is located in the Hibiya Gourmet Zone, under the Yurakucho station guard, with other ramen shops. I chose the "black" Hakata ramen, which is known as the signature dish of the restaurant. The broth had a nice aroma of special black garlic oil, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Overall, it was a top-notch Hakata ramen experience. The Hibiya-Ginza area is known for its many ramen shops, and this restaurant is a convenient choice for a delicious meal.

Hibiya Gourmet Zone has a Ramen Avenue with three shops open. I decided to try "Shinfu", the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen. I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu White for 780 yen. You can choose the firmness of the noodles, and I chose firm. The ramen was served quickly and I added some toppings before taking it to my table. The soup was rich and creamy with a distinct Kyushu pork bone flavor. The noodles were cooked just right for me. The only disappointment was the Chashu pork, which was a bit tough. Overall, the ramen was delicious and I would like to try the other shops in the future.

I tried the Tomato Tonkotsu Ramen at Hakata Shinfu in Hibiya Gourmet Zone. It was delicious! It was my first time choosing and paying for my own food. I was expecting a stronger tomato flavor, but it was still good with a light and refreshing taste. The fried onions were tasty, but I felt like adding cheese as a topping would have made it even better.

Hibiya Ramen Avenue's furthest spot. A tonkotsu ramen shop from Fukuoka, but offering a performance in Tokyo that is just as good as in Fukuoka. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with tomato, feeling a bit skeptical. I added a boiled egg as an option. The bowl arrived in a few minutes. I cautiously took a sip of the soup. Delicious. It had the essence of tonkotsu ramen, but also the presence of tomato, truly a "Tomato Tonkotsu" ramen. It was lighter than traditional tonkotsu ramen, yet still rich and satisfying. The fried onions and grilled tomatoes as toppings added a nice touch, keeping me engaged until the last bite. The quality was exceptional. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the last restaurant on Ramen Avenue, "Hakata Shinfu". I ordered the classic Hakata Shinfu Ramen with a seasoned egg on top. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. It was a tonkotsu ramen with a milky white soup, topped with chashu, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and a seasoned egg. The appearance was typical of Hakata ramen. The soup had a pork bone aroma and a salty tonkotsu flavor. The noodles were thicker than Hakata or Nagahama ramen, but still on the thinner side. They were slightly firm and straight. The chashu and seasoned egg were average. Overall, it was a delicious tonkotsu ramen at a reasonable price.

In February 2022, I visited Hakata Shinfu, a ramen shop located in the middle of the area between Shinbashi and Yurakucho under the JR elevated railway. This shop is one of three located in Ramen Avenue, which may have some rotation of shops. Hakata Shinfu is known for its rich tonkotsu ramen in Hakata. The seating is free-style table seating, similar to a food court, where you order your food, pay, and wait for your order to be called. Today, I ordered the "White Hakata Tonkotsu" for 780 yen and 5 pieces of Hakata gyoza for 350 yen. The order was ready in just 4 minutes. The ramen had a creamy tonkotsu broth with chashu, chopped wood ear mushrooms, chopped green onions, and grated garlic on top. The broth was rich and creamy with a mild saltiness. The chashu was above average, and the straight noodles were a perfect match for the soup. The small Hakata gyoza was juicy and a perfect side dish to accompany the ramen.

Located between Yurakucho Station and Shinbashi Station, underneath the JR tracks, is "Nihonbashi Gurumezon" within Ramen Avenue, where you can find Hakata Shinfu Ramen (^ ^). Ramen Avenue also houses Tokyo Fukumori Soba and Kanazawa Shinsen Miso Ramen, along with Hakata Shinfu. The payment is made at the time of ordering. The seating is at tables arranged in a food court style, and after placing your order, you will be given a buzzer to take to your table. Hakata Shinfu is definitely leading the way with their Hakata tonkotsu ramen! The thin noodles in the unique tonkotsu soup with wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and chashu are truly representative of Hakata ramen (^-^). The motif at the entrance of Ramen Avenue, resembling the Statue of Liberty, holding a ladle for cutting ramen broth, was also quite unique and interesting.

At first, I thought it was just a regular Hakata ramen, but the second serving of extra noodles had a thicker soup and a more delicate flavor. The noodles themselves were firm and had a great texture when bitten into. This restaurant truly shines from the second serving onwards.

After watching a movie at TOHO Cinemas, I was craving for tonkotsu ramen and ended up here. I was a bit worried about the food court setup, but the ramen turned out to be quite authentic and delicious, resembling the rich style of Hakata ramen. The price of 780 yen may be on the higher side, but it's probably due to the location. If I have the chance to visit Hakata again, I would definitely want to try the original shop.

I love ramen and I am from Fukuoka, so I decided to give a tough review. I saw this place on TV and it caught my attention, so I went there. I didn't try the most popular red ramen, which was my mistake, but honestly, it was just average. It seemed like a foamy type of ramen, I wish it had a bit more depth. I hope this ramen shop doesn't compromise and continues to evolve in the future.
