Located about a 5-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, I decided to have lunch at Yakiniku restaurant called Jojoen after a business meeting. I don't usually have Yakiniku for lunch, but once in a while, why not? I ordered the "Cut Steak Lunch" for 2500 yen. It came with cut steak, rice, salad, seaweed soup, namul, and kimchi. I enjoyed the salad while grilling the meat and having it with rice. The meat was tender and delicious, with about 8 pieces making it quite satisfying. The namul and seaweed soup were also great, as expected from Jojoen. The price including a drink and dessert wasn't bad. But, I still wished I could have had a beer with my Yakiniku.

There was a time when the quality of the meat changed and I stopped going, but when I visited again after a long time, it was back to normal. I use the restaurant across the street, Yu Gentei, for important conversations, but I usually come here casually. I am very satisfied with the lunch here, especially with the generous amount of Chorogi salad. The taste is delicious.

I used to be treated to Yakiniku at Seryna by my relatives in Tokyo, and back then I used the Urayasu branch. This time, I visited this Seryna branch. At that time, I thought there was no yakiniku as delicious as this, but honestly, it wasn't as tasty as before, or rather, it was tasty but the taste didn't match the price. The meat also gave me heartburn and I couldn't eat much. Well, I guess my palate has become more refined because I've eaten even tastier things.

Then came the meat. I usually pile meat on the grill all at once, but this time, I grilled each piece carefully. It was incredibly delicious. The umami flavor melted on my tongue, just like they say on TV. If this is what you get with the A set, I can't imagine how good the higher sets must be. Finally, I enjoyed a dessert and had a satisfying time. Jojoen is definitely worth trying for lunch, even if it's just once.

I visited around 11 am on a weekday. Took the elevator to the second floor. There was a step right after getting off, which was dangerous! The interior of the restaurant looked old, is this really "Jojoen"? It was almost full by 12 pm, even though I was one of the first to arrive. There were many salarymen and foreigners, probably due to the location. I ordered the lunch menu and a highball. The meat at "Jojoen" was delicious as expected. When I left the restaurant and stepped outside, I saw "Yugetei" right in front of me! I should have done more research before coming. Since I was disappointed with the atmosphere inside, I should have chosen "Yugetei" instead...

The manager comes out just as I'm about to reach the entrance, welcoming me with a natural smile. The inside of the restaurant is well-maintained and has a cozy atmosphere. Despite being alone, I am seated at a large table, feeling a bit embarrassed. I decide to go for the Bibimbap with Beef Lunch Set, the most affordable option at 1300 yen. The amount of beef is not large but the quality is excellent. The Bibimbap is beautifully presented in a tiered box, with various namuls and a sweet and savory beef topping. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the rice absorbs the sauce nicely. The Kimchi is spicy and tangy, adding a kick to the meal. The lettuce salad, made with a salt dressing, is a must-try. The seaweed soup is rich and comforting, and the dessert and drink complete the meal. Overall, for 1300 yen, this lunch is a great deal and I thoroughly enjoy it.
