Today we visited Ginza, Higashi-Ginza, and Ginza-itchome area. Sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, delicious, delicious, it's sweet potatoes...roasted sweet potatoes. A nostalgic roasted sweet potato mobile vendor. Even in the countryside, you don't see them anymore in the Reiwa era. However, I always wondered, were they able to make a living doing that? I mean, one costs 200-300 yen. Considering the cost of gasoline and other expenses, it doesn't seem profitable. Now, moving on to a sweet potato sweets specialty store called "Ginza Imoyama." Located in a prime location in Ginza, this shop focuses solely on sweet potatoes. Conversely, specializing in one thing may be advantageous in that area. The object of "sweet potatoes" tends to give a rustic impression, but this shop has a chic exterior. The store name in a cool font adds a sense of luxury. With a calm atmosphere reminiscent of a Japanese restaurant, they create a space to enjoy sweet potato sweets and tea. However, it's a bit small, so the noise from outside can be heard. The menu includes sweet potato Mont Blanc and freshly squeezed. There are also several take-out menus such as sweet potato chips, daigakuimo, and Mont Blanc daifuku. There was also a limited-time parfait, but unfortunately, it was sold out. Well, I originally came for the Mont Blanc, so let's just say I managed to resist the temptation. Here's what I had: Sweet Potato Mont Blanc with Japanese black tea. The black tea is from Mizuhouen in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture. The Mont Blanc has a thin layer of sweet potato cream squeezed into it with fresh cream on top. It is garnished with sweet potato chips. It arrives with dry ice smoke. There is also salted kelp on the side, adding a nice touch of saltiness. The creamy and smooth sweet potato cream has a gentle sweetness. I would have liked a bit more chewiness and sweet potato flavor, but it was delicious as a Mont Blanc. The composition is a bit simple, so I would have liked a bit more excitement. French fermented butter on top of thinly sliced sweet potato chips. The sweet potato chips are crispy with a strong sweetness. First, try it without the butter, savoring the sweetness of the sweet potato, then try it with the butter. It has a smooth and rich flavor. The sweet potato chips turned into an unexpectedly elegant snack. The restaurant was very empty, and it felt like a private room until the last customer came in. It might be a hidden gem for enjoying Japanese sweets in Ginza. Thank you for the meal!
