I finally visited "Kurumido" in Kyodo, a place I've always wanted to go but never had the chance to. It's about a 5-minute walk from Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Line. The entrance is small, so I often missed it, but the stylish blackboard is a good sign! It was around 3 pm on a Saturday, and luckily there was one seat available, so I was able to enter. The interior, renovated from a traditional Japanese house on the second floor, is a stylish and comfortable space to relax in. What I had this time! Retro pudding ¥300, Ginkgo blend tea ¥550. The "retro pudding" with a classic and nostalgic appearance that reminds me of the Showa era has been on my mind for a while, so I finally visited! It was not as firm as I thought, with a nice texture and a subtle sweetness. It had the richness of eggs, and the caramel was not too heavy, just right! It was a delicious pudding that evoked a sense of nostalgia and comfort. The "Ginkgo blend tea" was recommended by the owner when I was hesitating between other options, and he kindly let me try the fragrance. I appreciate the thoughtful and kind gesture! This Ginkgo blend tea, a blend of Okinawan herbs and green tea, has a unique scent like Chinese tea, refreshing and easy to drink, with a good match for the pudding! I intended to take a short break, but the cozy atmosphere made me stay a little longer. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

Retro Pudding Ume Soda
With a cozy handmade vibe, this small café exudes charm. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by freshly baked scones and muffins that are sure to make your heart sing. On this particular day, I was craving something fizzy, so I ordered the Ume Soda. The homemade plum syrup was refreshing and delicious. The Retro Pudding had a nice balance, with a subtle egg flavor that wasn't overpowering. The portion size was generous, providing a satisfying treat.

It was a very calm space, where time passed slowly and beautifully. The muffin, pudding, and plum soda I had were all delicious, making it the perfect cafe to relax and unwind on a day off. Located about a 5-minute walk from Kyodo Station, the cafe can accommodate about 4 groups at a time, with spacious seating arrangements. After some deliberation, I decided on the following items: - Strawberry & White Chocolate Muffin (¥450) - Retro Pudding (¥300) - Plum Soda (¥620) They offer a discount of 10 yen on muffins and 60 yen on scones for takeout, so I couldn't resist taking a Chocolate Chip Scone (¥270) home. The muffin had a crispy top and a moist interior, with generous amounts of white chocolate making it delicious from every bite. The pudding had a classic appearance but had a perfect balance of firmness and softness in texture. It seems like firm puddings are trending, but this classic style was truly delicious. As for the plum soda, the owner mentioned that they use syrup made from fresh green plums, resulting in a mild acidity and gentle sweetness. It felt like the owner's kindness was reflected in the taste of the plum soda. I had a great time enjoying these treats during my break. Since I visit Kyodo frequently, I will definitely be back to this cafe. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

About a 5-minute walk from Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Line, this café is located in a shopping street. After climbing the stairs to the second floor, you'll find a cozy café run by a woman, with freshly baked muffins, scones, and cookies on display. On this day, I ordered the Sweet Summer and Cream Cheese Muffin for 440 yen, along with a blend of Yomogi tea for 570 yen. The muffin was light and fluffy, and despite its size, I devoured it in no time. The subtle acidity of the Sweet Summer was delightful. I remembered learning at a herbal medicine class that Yomogi in spring is good for the body, so I decided to try it. The tea was very easy to drink and was served in a retro-style teapot. The creaking floorboards in this old house setting added to the charm. I had a pleasant time in this quiet space.

Salted caramel banana muffin. The re-baked version is definitely skillfully done! The top is crispy while the inside is moist. It's filled with chunks of banana. You can taste the salted caramel! They told me it's 10% off because it was baked yesterday. The re-baked muffins from Kurumido are the best. I don't think I can re-bake them as deliciously at home. The lemon herb tea is delicious. It was served in a mug. It was heartwarming. Slightly sweet with a hint of lemon verbena. I might start keeping it at home. Coconut pudding with lemon sauce. It was a bottled pudding. The lemon sauce with a slightly bitter taste on top is what I like. The coconut pudding has a bouncy texture. The aroma of coconut that comes through the nose is irresistible. It has a simple flavor. Thank you for the meal. The price is unclear as there was no receipt. This is a candidate for revisiting in 2022. The neighboring building is under construction, and the shop on the first floor is closed, so I didn't notice Kurumido and ended up walking quite far. I walked quite a distance. Kurumido remains unchanged. It's heartwarming. I'm not a fan of the wetness of the cloth towel. It was my first time sitting in the sunken seat, but the brightness was just right, and it had a cozy feel to it. I lowered the score because I'm not confident that I can come back next year.

Pumpkin muffin with sprinkled rose rooibos tea for 1,300 yen. The muffins were sold out except for the last one. The texture was fluffy inside and crispy on top, very delicious. The taste was gentle and not too sweet. The rooibos tea had rose petals floating in it.

I visited for the first time for takeout in the afternoon on a regular day. The shop is located on Suzuran Street, but I had a little trouble finding it. The blackboard in front of the shop was a landmark. I climbed up the narrow and steep stairs to the 2nd floor. There is also an eat-in space, but the number of seats is small, so there may be a wait depending on the timing.
- Salted honey sweet potato muffin
- Chestnut and apple salted caramel muffin
- Sugar raisin scone
- Chocolate chip scone
- Snowball cookie
- Hojicha sablé

It was a rainy day in Tokyo. I sought shelter from the rain at Kurumidou from 4 to 6 pm. The name of the shop is so cute! Each seat looked like a school desk, which brought back nostalgic memories. I wanted to try the scones, but they were sold out, so I settled for a muffin instead. I chose the sweet potato and salted honey flavor, and it turned out to be delicious! It paired well with my café au lait. Lately, I've been missing out on scones a lot, even at other cafes where I ended up ordering muffins. Are scones really that popular? My craving for scones keeps growing! Despite overstaying, the staff were kind. Thank you for the meal.

Nostalgic building with a Showa era vibe, the second floor has a retro atmosphere as well. Ice coffee for 570 yen and retro pudding for 300 yen. The wooden tables and vintage lights give off a Showa era feel. The jazz music playing at a volume that makes you forget about everything else is very soothing. It's a relaxing space to read a book and unwind. The retro pudding is delicious with a nostalgic taste and homemade caramel. The ice coffee is smooth and easy to drink with a mild acidity and bitterness. The kind and relaxed service from the female owner adds to the charm of the place. Just wanted to share a laid-back review for a change! 😊

I took a nostalgic walk in Kyodo, where I used to go during my student days. When I went to buy taiyaki, it turned out to be during summer vacation (cries). If you go from the south exit of Kyodo Station and proceed down Suzuran Street, you will find... Wait, here!? I climbed the steep stairs that I think used to lead to an apartment on the second floor, and there was a shop. When I opened the sliding door and told the staff how many people were in my group, they asked me to wait a bit while they prepared a table. A customer who was alone kindly moved to another seat. Thank you. They brought me water and a wet towel, and explained the menu items that were sold out. I ordered iced coffee and retro pudding. The shop utilized a room in an apartment well, and the small items were cute and stylish. The coffee was carefully dripped, so it took some time to serve, but it was a pleasant moment to enjoy the aroma. After waiting for 12 minutes, the iced coffee arrived. Next, the pudding arrived. ● Iced Coffee: Mmm, mmm. The delicious coffee showed the careful work put into it. It had a fragrant and refreshing taste. ● Retro Pudding: It was not too sweet. The pudding was soft. The caramel had a bitter taste. It was delicious and smooth. It goes well with the iced coffee. Overall... When I paid the bill, I received a souvenir for the 12th anniversary. Thank you. Oh, so they have been in business for quite a long time... The gentle customer service from the female owner, the atmosphere inside the shop, the music - everything was soothing. It felt like relaxing over coffee at a friend's place. Time passed slowly. It was truly a great shop. Thank you for the meal.

Kurumido in Kyodo. Walking slowly down the Suzuran Street in Kyodo. This old-fashioned shopping street is lined with local shops such as greengrocers, toy stores, and florists, catering to residents, students, and commuters passing by the station. Kurumido is located towards the back of this street, about a 5-minute walk from the station. As you walk, you can see some new shops popping up... and finally, you arrive at Kurumido. The use of the blackboard outside shows a sense of style as you climb up to the second floor and enter the shop. The friendly shopkeeper greets you. The interior is made of wood and white walls, giving it a natural feel. Although it's a small shop, the other customers are leisurely enjoying their own time. I ordered a pudding and an iced mint tea. The pudding was classic and simple, with a delicious taste of eggs and caramel. The mint tea had a pleasant aroma and was refreshing, leaving a clean finish. The peaceful atmosphere was soothing and very nice. It was a good time enjoying the delicious pudding and mint tea. Thank you for the meal.

One Saturday afternoon, my wife and I took a stroll to Kyodo. We stopped at a cafe in the middle of Suzuran Street shopping district. It took us a while to find the place because the coffee bean store on the ground floor, which was my landmark, had its shutters closed. After a few minutes of wandering around the stairs, we finally found the cafe. The young female owner greeted us and showed us to a table by the window. We ordered two coffees and shared an apple cinnamon muffin. The cafe had a nostalgic feel, like sitting by the window of an old apartment. The interior had a retro vibe with furniture that seemed to preserve the old apartment's atmosphere. The coffee was Brazilian premium chocolate with a sweet aroma and mild bitterness. The muffin was delicious, with a soft texture and a hint of apple and cinnamon. The cafe was slowly paced, and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The place quickly filled up with young couples and solo customers enjoying their sweets. It was a popular hidden gem in Kyodo. The only downside was the small and uncomfortable restroom. Overall, it was a lovely cafe, and we would visit again on our next stroll in Kyodo.

After a gap of 4 years, I visited Kurumido in the Suzuran shopping street near Kyodo station. The shopping street is filled with various shops like Fruit Parlor ICHIMAN, Shokupan Ippondo, traditional bakeries, cake shops, and a coffee bean roaster, making it a delightful place to stroll around. Kurumido is a coffee bean roaster located on the first floor, filling the whole building with a pleasant aroma. To reach Kurumido, you have to climb a steep staircase. The café is a one-room space, converted from an old Japanese-style room with a few tables and chairs. The owner bakes delicious muffins and scones, and the place has a warm and cozy atmosphere. I ordered a chestnut and apple & salted caramel muffin and a retro pudding, along with a cup of coffee. The muffin was freshly baked and had a perfect balance of flavors, with a crispy top and a soft, warm center. The salted caramel added a delightful touch to the sweetness. The retro pudding was smooth and light, with a refreshing sweetness. The coffee was strong and tasted great with or without sugar and milk. Overall, it was a delicious experience, and I would love to visit Kurumido again. Please note that Kurumido's operating hours may vary, so it's best to check their Instagram for updates. Coffee - 500 yen Retro Pudding - 300 yen Muffin (Chestnut and Apple & Salted Caramel) - 480 yen Total payment - 1280 yen

Located on a peaceful street in Kyodo, this café on the second floor exudes a relaxed atmosphere. The owner creates a friendly ambiance that perfectly complements the surroundings. I bought a scone and a muffin for takeout. The scone was crispy and delicious even without reheating, which was a pleasant surprise.

The cafe is located on the second floor of a traditional house in the shopping street. I had trouble finding it and walked around the area a few times. Their baked sweets are famous, but I ordered a pudding and a cafe latte. The pudding tasted like the one I had in my childhood, it was delicious! The milk for the cafe latte was served in a milk bottle, giving it a nostalgic Showa era vibe. It was lovely.

Located in a shopping street about an 8-minute walk from Kyodo Station. The first floor is a specialty coffee bean shop, and you go up a narrow staircase to enter the store. It is run by a woman alone. The interior of the store has a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere, with antique tables and chairs that match the retro Showa era room. In addition to pudding, they also offer muffins, chiffon cakes, scones, and other sweets made with a combination of fruits. I tried the following: Retro Pudding - 300 yen, Lemon Herb Tea - 580 yen. The pudding served on a silver flat plate looks great. The caramel sauce is generously poured over it, smooth and slightly bitter. The pudding is neither too firm nor too soft, with a gentle and mellow taste. The atmosphere was nice, the pudding was delicious, and it was a relaxing experience.

A hidden cafe located at the end of the Kyodo shopping street! It's a bit of a walk from the station. The entrance is quite hard to find... you have to climb up a steep staircase and when you reach the top, there's a door. The interior is like a traditional Japanese house cafe, with a calming atmosphere. There are many muffin options written on a whiteboard. Since I had already had lunch, I chose a pudding. I also ordered a retro pudding and an iced cafe au lait. The iced cafe au lait came with separate milk and coffee, so you can mix it yourself. The pudding was as the name suggests, a firm type of pudding with a creamy texture. It was simple and delicious. The muffins, scones, and chiffon cakes also looked tempting. Some people were getting them to go. The steep staircase on the way back was quite thrilling. It was a hidden gem cafe where you can relax.

Before 1pm on Saturday. When I visited, I was the only one there. It was a private reservation. I had the Moon Peach Blend for 550 yen, Retro Pudding for 300 yen, and Plain Scone for 310 yen. The Moon Peach Blend has a unique medicinal flavor that gradually blends well in the mouth and tastes delicious. It seems good for the body. The scone is rough, moist, and I like that the sweetness is not overpowering. The pudding is simple. It's not too hard, too sweet, or has a strong alcohol scent. It's a simple pudding that I think is the most delicious and doesn't get boring. Thank you for the meal!

[Kurumidou]: "Retro Pudding" for 300 yen and "Gingko Blend Tea" for 550 yen. The caramel in the pudding has a refreshing bitterness to it, and it's delightfully chewy. The more you chew, the richer the flavor gets, with the caramel adding a perfect accent. The texture is consistent and pleasantly chewy throughout, with a cute grainy feeling on the sides. The Gingko Blend Tea is a mix of Okinawan herbs and green tea, giving it a spicy and refreshing aroma. The interior of the shop is spacious, with plenty of delicious-looking muffins on display. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but there are plenty of other eateries along the way. Kurumidou is a 7-minute walk from Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line, located at 3-45-2 Miyasaka, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo 2F."
