I had dinner alone at Futako Tamagawa and decided to eat here. I was in the mood for Chinese food. It was my first visit. I struggled with my decision but ended up ordering the mapo tofu set. It was around 5:30 pm on Sunday, and there were three elderly couples and one young man around. The salad was quite generous in portion and delicious. I felt like eating something spicy, so I ordered the mapo tofu set that was recommended to me by an acquaintance before. Even while waiting for the food and eating, there was a constant stream of customers coming in, so I could tell that this place is loved by the locals. I was drawn in by the sign advertising my favorite dish, "Crab Omelette"! I ordered the crab meat fried egg (Crab Omelette) from the lunch menu #2. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The main dish, Crab Omelette, along with soup, pickles, and rice, made up the set meal. The crab meat-filled omelette with a generous amount of sauce was cooked just right, with a mild flavor that I really enjoyed. The Chinese soup also had a subtle taste. I was offered a free refill of rice, but the portion was just right for me, so I finished my meal happily. Local regular customers kept coming in, which was a good sign of the restaurant's popularity.

On regular days, finding a lunch under 1000 yen in Futakotamagawa is valuable, but here you can get a traditional Chinese set meal for around 900 yen. The taste is robust but not too strong. The soup is slightly salty. It's a calm place to dine, and the owner is friendly, so overall I think it's a good restaurant.

I wonder if the "Gomoku Yaki Udon" uses the same sauce...? I couldn't stop myself from eating. It was so delicious.

On April 14, 2021 (Wednesday), I had work in Futakotamagawa. It was raining quite a lot on this day. For lunch, I visited "Szechuan Restaurant". I arrived at 11:48. As always, I ordered the "Ramen Fried Rice (1050 yen)". The ramen came with ingredients like cabbage, bean sprouts, green onions, and char siu. The presentation looked quite disappointing. The fried rice was also sloppily arranged. There was also a pickled vegetable-like side dish. The taste of the ramen was just as underwhelming as it looked. This was not good... I can't recommend it. And for 1050 yen? That's way too expensive. The price was high, but the taste was lacking. I couldn't finish it. It was a rainy day, which made it even more disappointing as I left the restaurant. It's light but tasty even without any additional condiments. The meat juice oozes out when you bite into it. It's delicious as is at first, and then with vinegar and chili oil. You could eat these pan-fried gyoza endlessly without getting tired of them. It was really good.

Anyway, this place is known for its katakana Western-style food. If you look hard enough, you can find a ramen shop. They have a variety of set meals, but I chose the classic ramen and fried rice set. The use of star anise in the chashu gives it a Chinese feel. The hot and delicious fried rice is seriously good. The restaurant is small, and it's crowded during lunchtime. The table next to me continued to talk about heroic tales. It's important to be considerate and share during lunchtime, right?
