I went to this ramen shop after drinking at a bar in Yanagikoji behind Futako Tamagawa Takashimaya, but Nomaero was full. So, I decided to try this place. It was my first time, so I ordered the recommended "Issei Ramen." As you can see in the photo, it looks plain. The noodles were medium thick and slightly firm, and the soup had a slightly strong salty taste, which was just right after drinking. However, towards the end, it felt a bit intense. It was delicious, but the taste didn't have much variation. I felt like they take their flavor seriously. Next time, I will try a different menu.

I visited for the first time on Friday at 8:30 PM. After some consideration, I decided to order the black ramen (burnt garlic). The garlic flavor and richness were not as strong as I had imagined, making it easy to eat and delicious. There are many delicious ramen shops in this area, so if I have the chance, I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

One of the four ramen restaurants surrounding the iconic Takashimaya in Futakotamagawa is "Isseiramen." This long-established shop has been serving customers for nearly 30 years. Although there are now more ramen shops in the area, Isseiramen stands out as a true classic. Their signature dish, Isseiramen, is a tonkotsu shoyu ramen made with a white soup base from pork bones and chicken bones, topped with their homemade soy sauce. The price has recently increased to 850 yen due to rising ingredient costs, but until 5 pm, you can get a free extra serving of noodles, and the default ramen comes with a whole seasoned egg. The tonkotsu broth is light and not too heavy, with a refreshing aftertaste. The noodles are slightly firm and medium-thick, and the chashu pork is tender and melts in your mouth. The seasoned egg is perfectly soft-boiled. While the broth may have become slightly saltier over time, Isseiramen remains a favorite ramen spot for me, and I make sure to visit a few times every year.

The Japanese-style ramen with soy sauce, B set, and a bottle of beer ramen cost 950 yen, with a medium bottle of beer costing 500 yen. When you order ramen and alcohol, you can also order the B set with 3 dumplings for an additional 50 yen, making it perfect for a casual drink during lunch. The Japanese-style ramen has thin noodles with a light, savory broth made from bonito flakes.

I headed to Futakotamagawa in search of a restaurant I had never tried before. Despite the awkward time in the evening, the place was about 80% full, mostly with locals. The restaurant's atmosphere was old-fashioned and seemed to blend in well with the neighborhood. I sat at the counter and ordered the Japanese-style ramen. It was quickly prepared in front of me, and I was served in about 5 minutes. The toppings included kaiware (radish sprouts) and chopped kombu seaweed, which I was not familiar with. I took a sip of the soup first. The dashi flavor was a bit weak, with the oil seeming to dominate. The noodles were thin and straight, slightly on the softer side. The chashu was tender but lacked flavor. Overall, the dish had a gentle taste, perhaps due to its Japanese-style influence. The menu seemed extensive, so I would like to try other dishes as well. Thank you for the meal.

If you're looking for ramen around Futakotamagawa Station, I recommend this place. I used to rotate between "Ayuramen," "Nomarou," "Michishirube," and "Issei," but Issei is still the best. Each one has a different taste so you won't get bored. The staple here is the Issei Ramen. It's a rich ramen made with pork bones and chicken broth, with homemade soy sauce added to it. The Black Ramen, with burnt garlic oil, is also delicious. It's a flavorful and punchy ramen. I also think the tantanmen is delicious.

After eating yakiniku, I was torn between going to "Michishirube" for ramen as a closing dish, but ended up here. The restaurant was not very crowded, but the ramen at Isseiramen was served quickly. It honestly didn't fit into any specific genre, similar to the ramen from "Hinode" in Kanazawa (which seems to have closed). It was just simply delicious. The soup had a deep and rich flavor that was hard to pinpoint, with no particular standout ingredients like chicken, pork, or seafood, nor an overwhelming broth. It was just naturally tasty and easy to eat. The fact that it came with a seasoned boiled egg by default was a nice touch. There are not many ramen shops in this area for a post-drinking meal, so I recommend this place.

When I tried to go to Kuramu during the waiting time for my child's extracurricular activities, I found out that it was not open yet. So, I decided to visit another option, this place, for the first time. I ordered the "Issei Ramen" (800 yen) as a basic choice. Since there was a free extra-large option, I couldn't resist ordering it because of my frugality. I requested the noodles to be firm. When the ramen arrived, I noticed that it came with a seasoned egg, which felt like a good deal for 800 yen with an extra-large serving. As I slurped the soup, I felt a strong umami flavor, which left a good first impression. The noodles were firmer than I expected, but as a Hakata ramen fan who prefers firm noodles, it was just right for me. The pork slices were tender and melt-in-your-mouth, and the seasoned egg was slightly firm yet runny, overall giving a good impression. However, as I continued eating, the soup started to taste quite salty, with the saltiness overpowering the umami flavor. I also started to feel a bit of a chemical seasoning taste, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that, I think it's a good restaurant. If it were nearby, I would visit occasionally. However, I feel like it may not be the best fit for Futako Tamagawa. It might become more popular in places like Shinjuku instead.

I felt a little hungry after 3 o'clock, so I decided to visit this restaurant. Since I wanted something light as a snack, I chose the salt ramen. The broth made with dried sardines was rich in flavor and delicious. The thin noodles paired perfectly with the broth, creating a delightful combination. It was a tasty ramen. Next time I visit, I want to try the black ramen.

On April 12, 2021 (Monday), I had work around Futakotamagawa Station. For lunch, I visited "Issei Ramen" at 11:34. This time, I ordered the "Black Ramen (850 yen)" with a "lunch set (3 gyoza + half rice / 150 yen)". I also asked for extra noodles since it's free. The restaurant had a description that said, "Issei Ramen: Tonkotsu and chicken broth simmered white soup with homemade soy sauce. Black Ramen: Issei Ramen with fragrant sesame oil." The ramen arrived at 11:42 with toppings like green onions, menma, nori, flavored egg, and chashu. The soup had a lot of sesame oil floating on top. The soup was delicious with a rich tonkotsu base and the sesame oil added extra depth. The black ramen was fantastic! The noodles were slightly thick curly noodles, providing a satisfying chew. The chashu and flavored egg were also tasty. The addition of gyoza and half rice was a nice touch. In an area with many expensive restaurants, this place is doing its best. Ending music: "Issei Ramen" → "Issei" → "一斉" → "all at once" → "once"… VANDENBERG!! Vandenberg - Once In A Lifetime. Thank you for the meal! 🍜

I came to Futakotamagawa after a long time. I used to live here for 2 years and would occasionally visit this ramen shop. Nearby, there is a popular ayu ramen shop, but I always preferred coming here. It has been a while since I last visited, and now there is a commercial facility called Rise near Futakotamagawa Station, making it similar to other station areas. As I walked through the back streets of Takashimaya, I found this shop. The atmosphere of the shop feels like a mountain hut. Some may find the wooden interior stylish. I sat at the counter seat. The kitchen is surrounded by the seating arrangement. I ordered a bottle of beer and their signature ramen. Soon, the food was served. It seems smaller than before. Maybe my memory is wrong. The chashu here is flavorful and a good snack size. I enjoyed it with my beer. The marinated egg was also good. I think it used to be cut in half before. This is also a good snack. The soup is thick and rich, but not greasy or too salty. It goes well with the slightly chewy noodles. It brought back memories of the past as I savored the flavors. But I feel like there was more quantity and satisfaction before. Maybe it's just nostalgia. I wonder when I will come back to Futakotamagawa, or if I will come back at all. Nevertheless, it's a memorable shop worth trying.

The first time I went to eat here was in November 2009. The reason I decided to go was because of a book that Ishigami-san first published. I met him for the first time at an event in Akasaka and got his autograph. It brings back memories. This ramen shop in Futakotamagawa is considered a long-established one. Suddenly, I felt like eating their ramen again after 7 years. Futakotamagawa shopping street. "Isseiramen" has only counter seats. They have partitions set up to create a space for 2 people that can be used by 1 person. I checked out 4 nearby shops, but it seems like this is the only ramen shop in the Futakotamagawa area that is implementing social distancing measures like this. As expected, after 7 years, they have adjusted their prices. Isseiramen: 800 yen (extra noodles for free until 5 pm). They have been using the same bowl for a long time. Flavorful seaweed. Crunchy menma, chopped green onions, thinly sliced pork belly chashu. Double soup made by simmering pork bones and chicken bones. The tangy soy sauce lingers with a refreshing aftertaste. Straight noodles with a slightly lower water content. Boiled to a firm texture, giving a nice bite to the flavorful noodles. Comes with a half-boiled seasoned egg by default. The rich, creamy yolk flows out. The deliciousness has remained unchanged since the old days.

I visited the restaurant around 2:30 PM. Despite it being a day after an emergency situation, the place was almost full. They had a system where you order instead of using a ticket machine. I chose the black dipping noodles while my companion chose the regular ramen. The noodles for both dishes were yellowish egg noodles with a slight curl. The dipping sauce had a strong soy sauce flavor when tasted alone, but it didn't stick well to the noodles, making the flavor weak. Additionally, there were burnt bits of garlic or leeks that left an unpleasant texture in the mouth. The pork slices were thin and average in tenderness. As for the ramen, the soup tasted like a regular soy sauce pork broth, not quite like a chicken white broth. I felt they could have emphasized more on the chicken white broth flavor. However, I personally preferred the soup in the ramen. Overall, I would rate the ramen 3 out of 5 and the black dipping noodles 2.5 out of 5, giving a total rating of 2.8.

At the end of drinking. The menu has changed and become easier to read! And it looks like the prices have gone up (^^; Well, it used to be 700 yen with a default of one seasoned egg, which was cheap, but now it's 800 yen. I think maybe they could keep it at 700 yen without the egg, or maybe around 750 yen, haha. It's tasty, but I don't think it has any standout features in the current ramen scene, so I wonder how this price increase will affect it. I like it so I will go back again though. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m

Visited with my son on Sunday afternoon. Sometimes I crave for black ramen. It's nice that we can eat without feeling awkward even with my child, as long as we avoid the peak hours. We arrived around 2 PM and when we left, the restaurant was full again. Will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday evening. I was intrigued by the photo of the Japanese-style ramen on display, so I decided to try it. I sat at the empty counter seat and ordered the Japanese-style ramen (800 yen) that caught my eye. Before I knew it, the dish arrived. The Japanese-style ramen is soy sauce flavored, made with a rich soup combining kombu, mackerel flakes, and bonito flakes, as well as tonkotsu and chicken bone white soup, finished with homemade soy sauce seasoning. It has a deep flavor. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. 2019.09.29 Foodie. 3001 reviews (Tokyo: 1237 reviews)

This is a favorite restaurant of my second son ❤️ Today, we finally turned in his homework from before summer vacation, just one month late. He tried his best, so as a reward, he wanted to go to "Issei Ramen"! Luckily, they are open all day, so we could go whenever. My son's goal was to try the black ramen, but we compromised and got the Issei Ramen for 700 yen and a Chashu Don for 350 yen. The best part is that no matter which ramen you order, you can get a free extra serving, which is great. We also wanted to buy some Chashu for dinner, but unfortunately, it's only available on Mondays. Oh well, maybe next time. My son was very satisfied with the meal.

★Food★ - Rich seafood ramen 800 yen - Gyoza (dumplings) 450 yen - Bottle of beer 500 yen ★Impression★ The length of Golden Week made me feel like I was wasting my time off... This day was no exception. I debated between the classic ramen and ended up being drawn to the rich seafood flavor. Yeah, it was really intense and persistent with the fish powder taste, but I didn't mind it. However, towards the end, I started to get tired of it. I wonder why.

I had a reason to go to Futako Tamagawa, and I had lunch at Issei Ramen, located in the middle of the Futako Tamagawa shopping street. Although there is a shop nearby that specializes in Ayu Ramen, they were serving Shoga Ramen for lunch. Since I was with my second-grade son, we decided to go to Issei Ramen, which was close by. We ordered Issei Ramen and Tantanmen. Since we were hungry, we ordered both in large size, which was free of charge. This is Issei Ramen. It is a ramen with a base of slowly simmered tonkotsu and chicken bone white soup, combined with seafood-based soy sauce broth. The noodles are thin and firm. They are a bit on the firm side, but I personally like it that way. And each ramen comes with a flavored boiled egg. It's a great deal. My son finished the large portion of this ramen. Impressive. I had the Tantanmen. It is accented with white leeks and kaiware radish, but personally, I would have liked a bit more sesame flavor and some minced meat in it. Nevertheless, it was very delicious. This one also comes with a flavored boiled egg by default. I saw the customer next to me adding chili oil to the soup, so I tried it too, but ended up sweating a lot. For those who tend to sweat a lot, it's the season where you will sweat a lot with spicy food. So, I was full and very satisfied with the lunch.

I don't usually like restaurants with a wide variety of soup options because I don't know which one is really good. However, the descriptions on the signboard seemed delicious, so I decided to give it a try. They had more types of ramen than I expected, with different soups for both ramen and tsukemen. I ordered the lunch set with gyoza, half rice, and free noodle upsize for 150 yen. I opted for the Japanese-style ramen and tsukemen, which turned out to be soy sauce ramen with a double soup of kombu, saba, and katsuobushi dashi combined with tonkotsu and chicken bone broth. The soy sauce flavor was simple, and the toppings included chashu, menma, ajitama, nori, kaiware, finely shredded kombu, and green onions. The standout was the delicious handmade gyoza, which was juicy and flavorful. Overall, the restaurant had a variety of ramen options that could suit different preferences, but it was hard to determine which one was truly delicious. The interior was plain and a bit cramped, lacking cleanliness and warmth.
