My flight to New Chitose is delayed and I have some time to spare! There's a restaurant right in front of Gate 12. I ordered a draft beer and the chef's special, which was a beautifully colored Pacific saury! When I asked for an extra serving, it came so quickly that I couldn't keep up. The quality is impressive considering how easy it is to order. I usually come here when departing from Haneda. The Pacific saury was incredibly delicious. When I mentioned this to the chef, he just grinned.

Reasonable price and plenty of tuna dishes, quite satisfying. Excellent! I'm a bit tipsy. We rented a car, so no alcohol. Skipped dinner and ate here. Thank you for the meal, it was delicious. This felt quite cheap!

On September 13, 2023 (Wednesday) around 9 am, I had about an hour to spare at Haneda Airport due to a connecting flight, so I had a standing sushi breakfast. I ordered a cup of Koshino Kage-tora sake and made a toast. The sushi included saury and golden eye snapper. The saury had a moderate amount of fat and was relatively light and easy to eat. The golden eye snapper was firm and flavorful, sourced from Choshi. Next, I had bonito and striped jack. The bonito had large slices and no fishy smell, very delicious. The striped jack, produced in Himeji, was fatty and tasty. Every piece of sushi was delicious and it was great to be able to make quick use of the waiting time. Thank you for the meal.

The sushi restaurant beyond the security checkpoint at Haneda Airport Terminal 1 is not impressive. The lineup of nigiri sushi is mediocre, and the operation is slow despite the lack of customers. The chirashi bowl is average, with fresh ingredients but unappetizing sushi rice. The use of soy sauce packets is unnecessary and wasteful. Overall, the experience is disappointing, and I won't be returning to this place.

When flying to and from Tokyo, it's such a delight to enjoy sushi and beer right up until the last minute before departure at Haneda Airport! Thank you, JAL, and Matokoiya! Today wasn't too crowded, so I had the omakase set with 5 pieces of sushi plus turban shell and shrimp. I'll definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It was generally empty, but I waited for about 30 minutes on Saturday at lunchtime! However, it was a great experience because I could quickly satisfy my hunger and pass the time, and the taste was very delicious! The price is not cheap at 250 yen per piece, but the quality is definitely worth it. The grilled eel was especially delicious. The staff were also very friendly, which made me feel very comfortable! I would like to visit again.

I waited for over 30 minutes at the counter. Even when a counter seat became available, they prioritized takeout orders that kept coming in, and didn't clear the counter seats. I had planned to order the special nigiri, but ended up changing to an all-tuna selection at the last minute. I waited for 40 minutes only to finish my meal in 1 minute. I should have just ordered takeout from the beginning. If you want to enjoy your favorite sushi at the counter, you need to allow at least 1 hour of extra time.

I have been to this restaurant before. In a previous review, I mentioned that it was not crowded because it is located inside the departure terminal, but this time it was busy. I am not a fan of standing and eating, so I planned to eat at the shared tables in front of the restaurant. However, I was unsure when to place my order and ended up confused. I even went to the table seating area and waited for a table to become available, but no one asked me anything, and the line kept growing. When I finally confirmed if I could place my order at the register, it was quickly done. I wish they had asked me if I had already decided on my order or if I was okay with not sitting at the counter from the beginning. The counter seats were limited, and the line kept getting longer as I waited. However, once you order at the register, the freshly made sushi is quickly prepared in the back and they call you when it's ready. If people knew this, they wouldn't have to wait in line. It would be helpful if they had a sign or verbally informed customers about this. Some people may be in a rush because of their flight times. Please consider making improvements.

I often catch a flight from gate 11, so I usually leave the lounge a bit early to grab a bite. This time, my flight got delayed significantly while I was eating, so I decided to eat more and limit my alcohol intake at the lounge. The sushi served was delicious and easy to enjoy. Although I find the price a bit high for this quality, considering the location and speed, it's probably worth it. The fact that green onions are included in the main menu is a plus. It's a good way to finish the meal.

The restaurant was located inside the inspection area, right next to our boarding gate, so we decided to visit during our free time before the flight. The taste and sushi were authentic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tuna dishes. The staff were also friendly, so we plan to visit again.

It's been a while since I visited the first terminal at Haneda Airport. There's a great little place to grab a bite to eat, perfect for those with limited time. The restaurant is envy-inducing for those who can drink. Every dish is above average in taste and you can choose between ponzu sauce or sweet sauce to go with your food. They also listen to your preferences. The prices may have gone up a bit since my last visit, but it's still a satisfying place to eat.

When I used to travel on the first flight in the morning, I often had the salmon meal at Hitoshinaya, but recently, I go to the standing sushi bar called Matokoeya that opens from 6:30 am. The reason is because you can drink in the morning... haha. This place is always bustling with people standing and eating sushi in the morning. It was my first time at a standing sushi bar, so I didn't know how to order, but the person next to me was kind and taught me various things, and before I knew it, I gained the courage to confidently stand at the counter no matter where I go. However, it's not a place you can just walk into if you don't know the etiquette. Even for those with little experience, the prices are reasonable, so you can enjoy sushi with peace of mind. Matokoeya offers fresh fish sourced daily from Toyosu Market and boasts their delicious bluefin tuna. Located right in the center of Haneda Airport Terminal 1, it's convenient for both the North and South Wings. A great find for JAL fans. This time, I enjoyed a variety of bluefish and shellfish, and then had a wasabi roll with abalone as a side dish. The wasabi roll here is incredibly spicy, making your nose tingle, but it's addictive with the same wasabi. At any standing sushi bar, I always have a Tekka Maki before asking for soup at the end, to savor the taste of the region. Lately, there are many foreign customers, so it feels like you're enjoying sushi while traveling abroad. When heading to Tokyo, I enjoy Seto Inland Sea seafood at Nana Yuki, a standing sushi bar on the second floor of JR Takamatsu Station, and on the way back to Shikoku, it's a must to enjoy Toyosu seafood at Matokoeya Haneda branch.

Near gate 12 at Haneda Airport, there is a sushi restaurant. The level of crowding varies depending on the flight schedule. On this day, it was full from 6 in the morning. The sushi was very delicious. It's great to be able to easily enjoy sushi of this quality at the airport. Next time, I want to have some drinks too. Thank you for the meal!

At Haneda Airport's Terminal 1, there is a sushi restaurant after passing through the baggage inspection. The sushi is made right in front of you by the chef. You can order sushi by the piece, so you can fill up on a snack before your flight. I visited in the early afternoon on a weekday. There are about 7-8 standing counters, but you can also eat at the common table seats in the food court. On this day, I stood at the standing counter. Many people were enjoying sushi with beer or highball in hand. I ordered a draft beer, kanpachi, chutoro, and shimesaba. The fish waiting to be made into sushi was pre-cut for sushi. The chutoro looked a bit reddish, but it was delicious. The shimesaba might have been a bit too firm, but it might be unavoidable given the location. I decided to stop here as I wanted to eat in moderation this day. The bill came to 1,640 yen. Thank you for the meal.

This is a sushi restaurant located inside the restricted area of the domestic JAL terminal at Haneda Airport. Arrived on Saturday at 4:25 pm. The counter was full, so many people were eating at the tables. There was always a line at the cash register. I was seated at the counter at 4:30 pm.
- Tuna Sushi Set ¥1,540
Great value! Included 6 pieces of tuna sushi such as lean, medium fatty, fatty, seared, and negitoro roll. All of them were delicious!
- Amberjack ¥270
- Salmon ¥200
If you can't decide between JAL and ANA, you might choose this restaurant and go with JAL.

There was quite a wait for eating at the counter, but for takeout sushi, you could order one piece at a time in about 20 minutes. The octopus, squid, and burdock rolls were not cheap, but they were just right for a light meal.

Thank you for the delicious tuna feast♪ This is a shop located inside the security inspection area of Haneda Airport. I visited at 11:00 on a weekday. I ordered the tuna feast for an early lunch. You can enjoy it either standing at the counter or at a nearby table. It's a convenient way to enjoy sushi from Tsukiji. It was delicious.

*Special selection nigiri: 3,500 yen
Small draft beer: 440 yen
"Matokoeya" is a tuna-focused sushi restaurant with its main branch in Tsukiji. Located inside the departure gate accessible to JAL users at Haneda Airport, it is a rare restaurant that operates until 8:00 PM while many other eateries close by 7:00 PM. They also open from 6:30 AM, so you can enjoy morning sushi here! If you visit around 7:30 PM on weekdays, it can be quite crowded. Towards closing time, you may need to order a sushi set and dine at one of the nearby tables as standing sushi may not be available. I ordered the luxurious special selection nigiri and was pleased to find a small size option for beer. The toppings were indeed luxurious as expected. The recommended tuna had both lean meat and fatty tuna. The appearance was decent, and the taste was enjoyable without any fishy smell, although the slightly high temperature of the toppings highlighted the fattiness a bit too much. The negitoro roll was good, but the nigiri would have been better with a slightly lower temperature. This might have been due to the restaurant being close to closing time. Overall, the toppings and sushi rice were decent. It's nice to see such a generous portion of sea urchin for the increased price, and it's great to be able to enjoy sushi of this quality quickly at Haneda Airport. If you visit at an earlier time, you can also order custom sushi.

When I come to Haneda Airport, I always stop by this standing sushi restaurant. The name of the restaurant is "Matakoiya," which gives me a feeling of "I've come back again!" The sushi here is fresh as it is delivered directly from Toyosu, and the prices are reasonable. You can order your favorite sushi by the piece. I love shiny sushi, so I always start with a few pieces of shiny sushi. Then, I always order the fatty tuna. It's really delicious here. Visiting this restaurant is one of the highlights of going to Haneda Airport. I eat quickly, drink quickly, and say "I'll be back!"

I had no time for lunch before my flight from Haneda Airport, but when I passed through the baggage claim and found out my departure was delayed by 15 minutes, I took the opportunity to visit a sushi restaurant near Gate 14 that I had been eyeing for a while. I ordered the "Omakase Nigiri (5 pieces)" which included horse mackerel, amberjack, fatty tuna, scallop, and tuna battleship sushi. The fatty tuna and horse mackerel were especially delicious. I enjoyed my quick sushi meal at the counter and then paid before heading to my gate. I plan to revisit this restaurant for the "Sushi Set" which includes 8 pieces of sushi and a beer on my next evening flight.
