"Yakatabune boat 'Nodaya' departing from Asakusabashi. The route goes around Skytree, Rainbow Bridge, and Odaiba. Since it was from 18:00 in July, we were able to enjoy both daytime and night views. The food was mainly seafood such as sashimi, salmon carpaccio salad, and tempura, and I thought the quality was high. I was a bit worried about the rocking motion on my first yakatabune ride, but it was not too bad. I have been on a Tokyo Bay summer boat before, and the experience was definitely different."

Noda-ya (Asakusabashi) was chosen as the venue for a networking event hosted by Marina Hinono, on a houseboat departing from Asakusabashi. I boarded a houseboat from another company about 10 years ago. Dining while feeling the refreshing sea breeze and watching the flowing night view is a very luxurious experience. This time, there were 21 people on board for a private event. Compared to the crowded company event last time, having more space made a big difference in the atmosphere. When we boarded, salad and sashimi were already arranged on the tables, and we had a toast before having conversations while eating. After a while, freshly fried tempura was served on a large plate! Tempura is a must-have on a houseboat, and freshly fried tempura is truly the best! The crispy texture of the tempura and the plump shrimp tempura were incredibly satisfying. The boat stopped at a spot where you could see the illumination of Odaiba straight ahead. We all took commemorative photos while feeling the sea breeze on our skin. When we returned to our seats, we were served clam rice and miso soup with clams. The elegant dining experience enhanced the interactions with people we were meeting for the first time, making it a more delightful experience.

The first yakatabune of the year. The atmosphere is nice, but don't expect much from the food and drinks. If you're going to drink, it's probably just beer. It's my third time at Nodaya, so I'm starting to get tired of it. I always wish they would make some drinks at least. The view is of the Skytree and Odaiba. Maybe I'll try a different yakatabune next time. I heard reservations fill up quickly for the fireworks, so I won't be able to go, but I'm not really thinking of going anyway. Well, it's good for a party, but it's expensive. It would be nice if they served more Tokyo Bay fish or local tsukudani.

I had wanted to ride on a yakatabune for a long time, but I didn't have the opportunity until last summer when I finally got the chance at a gathering at my favorite bar. Since it was my first time on a yakatabune, I don't think I can give a proper evaluation, so please take my comments as reference. I didn't expect the yakatabune to be fully air-conditioned, so it was a pleasant surprise. Well, considering that the Sumida River can smell in the summer, it's probably natural. The atmosphere may be somewhat diminished, but the comfort is good. The yakatabune I rode on this time is probably the smallest boat of this restaurant, but the interior was clean. The toilet was a bit small, but that's understandable. The food mainly consisted of tempura and fried dishes, and while I wouldn't say it was extremely delicious, it was all carefully made and the portions were generous. It's better to go on an empty stomach. The atmosphere also adds to the enjoyment of the meal. Nighttime may offer a different charm, but during the day, you can enjoy a different view. Honestly, I highly recommend it and personally, I would like to visit again. Also, the boat rocks a bit, so those prone to motion sickness should remember to take motion sickness medication.
