The night view of Shibuya from a corner of the restaurant was breathtakingly beautiful. However, for this price, I wish there was more quantity and the seasoning was too safe for my taste. But for this price, I think it's okay to have more quantity and the seasoning is too safe. I think it's a perfect place to take someone on a first date.

Lunch at Ginza Aster, now known as Guo, in Shibuya. They have completely revamped their menu during the pandemic. I decided to stick with my usual Aster noodles. The Chinese noodles were top-notch! The shrimp was perfectly deep-fried, the beef was well-seasoned, and the noodles were high quality. The soup had a complex flavor profile. The view was also amazing! I definitely want to come back for dinner next time!

Located on the 13th floor, this Chinese restaurant offers hot pot dishes while enjoying the night view. You can choose from two types of soup, white and yellow, both of which were delicious without any strong flavors. We dipped mushrooms and additional meat into the soup and it was addictive. The appetizer of seaweed was a new discovery for me, with a unique flavor that I haven't experienced before. It paired perfectly with the Shaoxing wine highball.

I had baked yakisoba and non-alcoholic beer for lunch. I visited alone and was seated by the window, enjoying the view of Shibuya while eating. I was very satisfied with my lunch in this luxurious atmosphere. Even though it was lunchtime, I could relax and enjoy my meal in an adult-like setting. The staff were well-trained and I was impressed by the service at Ginza Aster. I recommend this place for those who want to have a peaceful meal alone.

Mapo tofu lunch set for 2600 yen. Comes with salad, fried wontons, dumplings, followed by mapo tofu, rice, and soup. Finished with almond jelly for dessert. The view from the seat was amazing, overlooking the Shinjuku area. Being on the 12th floor, you could see the ground well. The mapo tofu was hot, so be careful not to burn yourself while enjoying its deliciousness! I thought it might be a bit small when eaten with rice, but after finishing dessert, I felt full! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I chose the shark fin course lunch, but it turned out to be shark fin porridge soup. The appetizers were colorful and visually appealing. Although I don't have a photo, the deep-fried shrimp wonton and daikon mochi were crispy with a nice saltiness, very delicious. The sweet and sour pork had a crispy coating but the meat was tender and melted in the mouth. The almond jelly had a gentle sweetness and was smooth and tasty. I wanted ice water during the cold weather but was surprised to find out it was not complimentary. The black bean rooibos tea was 600 yen and the portion was surprisingly small. The view on the 12th floor was nice. Next time, I'll go to the more affordable Ginza Aster.

Tonight's dinner was also through Goto Eat. I arrived at 17:45 and the seating rate was about 40%. It's a bit early, but since it's Sunday, December 11th, I thought there might be more year-end party groups, but it seems to be quite empty. I tried to go to Tsurutontan at Shibuya Scramble Square, but I gave up due to the long line. As I was looking for another option, I found a Goto Eat sticker at the entrance of this restaurant! From the entrance sign, it seems to be a high-end Chinese chain restaurant affiliated with Ginza Aster, a long-established establishment. I ordered the prefix course which included dumplings, avocado spring rolls, and the main dish was the Aster beef noodles (Gu-o style), along with an additional half portion of rice for 110 yen. The appetizer arrived in about 5 minutes, and while I was eating it, the dim sum arrived. The dumplings and spring rolls were already seasoned, so there was no need for soy sauce, and they were indeed flavorful. It had an ethnic and delicious taste. After finishing the dim sum and appetizer in about 10 minutes, the main dish of Aster noodles and half rice arrived. I was expecting a Cantonese noodle flavor, but it turned out to be a spicy and numbing Sichuan-style noodle with star anise. It was spicier than I expected, and I even choked a bit on the first bite. However, I could enjoy it as I am okay with star anise, but the shrimp seemed slightly overcooked. Finally, I had almond jelly for dessert, which was soft and delicious. After finishing the meal, I noticed there was a coupon for a free drink with the Club Off app. The total price was 3,080 yen including tax, and I paid with three Goto Eat vouchers worth 1,000 yen each and 80 yen in cash.

This is a restaurant with a view of Shibuya city. When I was in high school, I used to visit Shibuya often. It was not as trendy as it is now, it was a town for the common people. My high school was in Meguro Ward, and the track and field team, which I was a part of, sometimes practiced at a field called "Oda Field" near Shibuya's Kyu Yamate Dori. We used to go to a okonomiyaki restaurant called "Kokeshi" for the culture festival after-party. I wonder if anyone knows it. I belong to the generation that used to shop at Tokyu Toyoko Store or Seibu. Let's go with the prefix set for 2200 yen. You can see what you can choose from in the photos. The salad may look simple (sorry!), but it includes frilly lettuce, red core daikon, mizuna, myoga, etc., and the dressing has a homemade-like flavor that I like. The gyoza has a unique touch with shiso and probably kuwai, and it's delicious❤️ The xiaolongbao had soup spilled on the plate (lol) I want a ladle and pickled ginger. The tantanmen is served in a dish-like bowl. The soup is very delicious. It feels like you're eating sesame paste. It's not overly strong in flavor. The braised pork had plenty of bean sprouts and interesting toppings like Chinese scorched rice. There were a lot of noodles, but with plenty of vegetables, I wanted to finish it all, so I did‼️ The almond jelly is the kind that is soft and jiggly, which I like. It was a lunch with Yayoi Kusama staring at me. This place is great~

There were about 50 people lined up at Tsurotontan, so I went to a nearby Chinese restaurant. The view was nice, but below was a construction site. If the construction finishes and something is built, it could become the best view. I ordered the Ankake Yakisoba. It had some white toppings. The taste was neither spicy nor sour.

It was early in the day, so it was not crowded. Since all courses required a minimum of 2 people, we decided to order a la carte. They had champagne, so we enjoyed that. We ordered a pak choi salad, char siu, shrimp chili, beef, and shrimp fritters. The shrimp fritters had a delicious coconut coating.

This is my first visit to "Ginza Aster" series, and it has been a while since I visited a restaurant in this chain. The last time I tried their food, I didn't have any particular impression, but this restaurant offers elegant and flavorful Chinese cuisine that is not as high-end as a ten-thousand-yen course, but still quite refined. It seems like they pay attention to details like seasoning, cooking temperature, and presentation. I didn't have high expectations due to my previous impression, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fried rice with three-layer pork and cherry shrimp was delicious, with the pork being surprisingly tender and juicy. The XO sauce added a nice spicy kick. The shrimp wonton and vegetable ramen had a gentle saltiness and was not heavy or greasy. The pork and crab shumai was a high-quality dish where you can order just one piece, making it convenient.

I occasionally visit Shibuya's Scramble Square. Since I came all the way here, I decided to have dinner. I visited "Gu-O" for dinner. As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a wonderful night view. The night view alone is worth seeing. I ordered Gu-O's special tantanmen, special fried rice, steamed shrimp dumplings, pan-fried soup dumplings, avocado and shrimp spring rolls, special dumplings, and a highball. Gu-O seems to be affiliated with Ginza Aster. I had some expectations. The food arrived quickly. I tried the pan-fried soup dumplings. Hmm, they were a bit bland. And to think that one small soup dumpling costs 330 yen. I didn't expect that it would be just one piece. The other dim sum dishes were delicious as well. I also tried the special tantanmen and fried rice, which were tasty. As expected from a Ginza Aster affiliate. However, the food was a bit bland. The dishes were served on very cold plates. It's a shame considering the amazing night view. We shared the meal between two people, but even after eating all that, we didn't feel full... However, my heart was satisfied because I got to see the wonderful night view. I look forward to trying their lunch menu next time.

Prefix set ○ salad ◎ stone-grilled minced pork rice ◎ avocado and shrimp spring rolls ◎ pork and crab shumai ○ almond tofu I visited this Chinese restaurant located on the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square. They offer hot pot dishes as well as other menu items, but this time I tried the cost-effective prefix set. You can choose one main dish from 4 options and two side dishes from 4 options. First, I had the spring rolls and shumai. The spring rolls were crispy and freshly fried, with juicy shrimp and avocado, a definite recommendation. The neighboring shumai had a great combination of juicy pork and flavorful crab, satisfying even with just one piece! Moving on to the main dish, the minced pork rice was flavorful and generous in portion, filling up my stomach nicely. For reference, I will provide the Eatlog score criteria below: 4.5 and above ~ less than 5.0 → Super high rating, recommended, must visit again 4.0 and above ~ less than 4.5 → High rating, recommended, visit again if possible 3.5 and above ~ less than 4.0 → High rating, recommended 3.0 and above ~ less than 3.5 → Delicious Less than 3.0 → Average

I had lunch at Gu-O in Ginza Aster, which is easily accessible from Shibuya Station. I usually go for the classic Aster noodles, but this time I tried the limited-time Suan La Tang Mian for 1,650 yen. The soup was rich in various flavors and had a slight spiciness to it. It was complex yet simple, with layers of umami. The Aster noodles complemented the soup perfectly, and the raw egg added a nice touch. This might just be the best ramen I've ever had.

On a sunny and pleasant day, I had a rehearsal with a piano duet after a long time. Ensemble is so much fun~ I grinned happily during the enjoyable rehearsal, and since I had some time before my next job, I had lunch at a Chinese restaurant called Guo on the top of Shibuya Scramble Square. The location had a great view, overlooking Shibuya. For lunch, there was a set where you could choose two types of dim sum, and on that day, I chose the special gyoza and pan-fried xiaolongbao. The xiaolongbao had a thick skin due to being pan-fried, so the soup inside stayed intact even after taking a bite, allowing me to enjoy it well. The special gyoza was quite large, but the mixture inside enhanced the flavor multiple times, making it very delicious. The strong spice like star anise comes through, but the texture of lotus root is also noticeable without being overpowering, and being wrapped in shiso adds a refreshing touch. It was a taste that can become addictive. How you engage with a dish is immediately apparent to others, so I will redouble my efforts and focus on improvement!!

I visited a Chinese restaurant affiliated with Ginza Aster on the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, where you can enjoy the cityscape of Shibuya. I visited for lunch on the first Sunday of the year after 1:30 p.m. The set menu included a refreshing green salad, a choice of spicy mapo tofu with rice, special dan dan noodles, stone-grilled minced pork rice, or Sichuan-style fried chicken rice bowl. I chose the spicy mapo tofu with rice, which had a strong flavor of Sichuan pepper and chili, but also a rich umami taste. The rice was also free for seconds. For dim sum, I chose the special guo gyoza and avocado and shrimp spring roll, both of which were delicious. The almond tofu for dessert was smooth and had a gentle flavor and sweetness.

Since the start of the pandemic, I hadn't been able to meet up with my senior colleague, but recently they reached out and invited me for a casual meal. They chose a place that was convenient for both of us, "Gu-O" located on the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square right next to Shibuya Station. The name "Gu-O" means "hot pot" in Chinese, and they aim to offer a new style of Chinese cuisine incorporating Japanese elements, with their main dish being a vegetable porridge hot pot. The restaurant is managed by "Ginza Aster", a well-known Chinese restaurant chain that I used to visit often as a child. The menu is focused on the hot pot course, with the option to choose from 5 different soup bases. I opted for the course that included meat, and chose the green (coriander and spinach) and brown (porcini and fragrant mushrooms) soups, with black rice okoge as the closing dish instead of noodles. The course included: - Assorted 8 types of Japanese-style Chinese tapas - Smoked duck (today's meat dish) - Assorted mushrooms, ribbon vegetables, leafy vegetables, and yuba - Kagoshima Black Wagyu beef, smoked duck, pork - Black rice okoge - Almond tofu with soy milk flavor We started with a toast with draft beer and were served the assorted tapas, which were small but diverse and made for good drinking snacks. Next came the smoked duck, a signature dish of Ginza Aster, which was delicious. We then had the two-color hot pot, which made a striking presentation. The assorted mushrooms and vegetables were colorful and healthy, with a flavorful and rich broth. The meat selection of Kagoshima Black Wagyu beef, smoked duck, and pork followed, each offering a different taste experience. The black rice okoge was a light and refreshing way to end the meal. We decided to add some additional dishes: - Gu-O Special Sweet and Sour Pork - Gu-O Special Fried Rice - Stir-fried noodles with plenty of shrimp and vegetables in a thick sauce Despite the healthy start, we ended up indulging in heartier dishes. The classic dishes were well-prepared and tasty, with a generous amount of vegetables reflecting the restaurant's concept. It was a stylish and healthy take on Chinese cuisine, showcasing the establishment's solid culinary skills. The bill came out to around 28,000 yen for two people. Thank you for the meal!

It seemed like a restaurant with porridge and vegetable hot pot as the main dishes, but I chose the 2nd-anniversary prefix set which was very cost-effective. I didn't have a reservation, but I was able to enter smoothly. The window seats are for two people, where you can enjoy the night view of Shibuya while having your meal. Since I didn't order a hot pot, the table felt a bit small. I was given a drink-only menu first, so I'm not sure if it's a one-drink system or if I can decline it. The prefix set costs 2000 yen per person and includes a salad, a choice of 2 dim sum dishes, and a choice of noodles or rice. I was worried about the portion size, but the dim sum dishes had one piece each and the salad was small, so I think even women can finish it. Although there is a sense of luxury, there was no offer for extra plates, and ordering drinks felt like it was left up to the atmosphere, so I felt that the service could be improved a bit. I recommend it for dates or girls' nights out.

A stylish Chinese restaurant with a view of Shibuya at night. As someone living in the countryside now, I doubt I'll ever have the opportunity for dinner in Shibuya again. [Access] ○ Restaurant street in Shibuya Scramble Square. [Good points] The nuts in the appetizer or something were extremely delicious.
