Dining Out Edition - A Glimpse of Conscience in a Single Piece of Meat: Pork Curry at CoCo Ichibanya/Akabane
A little while ago, on 10/9 (Sun) for lunch, I was in the mood for curry so I headed to this restaurant. It's the CoCo Ichibanya at Akabane LaLa Garden. It had been a while since I last visited this CoCo Ichibanya, but I had recently tried the pork curry at the Musashi-Urawa branch and even though it was without any toppings, it was quite tasty. First, I checked the menu. Here at CoCo Ichibanya, the basic curry comes with pork, but in reality, it's without any meat or toppings. It seems like they expect you to add toppings from the start, but both the calories and the price increase significantly when you do, so I held back and ordered the regular size without toppings (463 yen).
After a while, the pork curry arrived. It's just the rice with the basic curry sauce poured over it, still without any toppings. I added the Fukujinzuke and sprinkled plenty of spicy spice on top to prepare. Of course, curry should be super spicy. Let's dig in. Munch munch munch♪ Mmm, delicious! It's a taste that sets it apart from the typical Japanese curry. The Fukujinzuke as a condiment. Personally, I prefer the red pickled ginger, but I know I'm in the minority. A little bit of the sauce on the table. The taste changes drastically. Use it sparingly.
I thought the "pork curry" was without meat, but I found some. A small piece just before the Fukujinzuke. You can see the difference in volume compared to the rice. Still, it wasn't completely without meat, which shows the conscience of the restaurant. I slurped down the pork curry in one go and finished it. Phew, I ate it all. With this taste and portion at this price, the cost performance is satisfactory. Miyaken left the restaurant very satisfied. The end.
From January 2011 to this day, the number of meals eaten out (breakfast and lunch only, excluding the company cafeteria) is 758, with an average price of 470 yen per meal including tax.
