Today for the second time I ordered the Chuka Soba. On days with strong rain and wind due to a typhoon, this underground shopping area is very convenient. I won't get wet here. Last time I gave a low rating of 3.1 for the wonton noodles, but I can't remember why I rated it so low. The Chuka Soba I had this time doesn't quite fit the typical definition of Chuka Soba, but the soup stayed hot until the end, the noodles were decent, and the chashu had a good flavor. It was delicious. As a result, I am giving a higher rating this time.

I stopped by at Gotanda TOC for lunch while shopping. I arrived around 11:45 am on a weekday and was able to get a seat easily, but the restaurant was quite crowded. By noon, it was full and there was a line waiting. The turnover is fast, so if you wait a bit, you should be able to get a table. Although Nikushichi is a famous dish at this restaurant, I noticed they also had white sesame tantan noodles on the menu. It had a star next to it, indicating it's popular. After some consideration, I decided to try the white sesame tantan noodles and also added a half-fried rice for an extra 420 yen. It was a carb-heavy choice, but I couldn't resist. The result was great! Despite the simple atmosphere of the restaurant, the flavors were not too strong and very delicious. The portion was quite generous, so it's best to go on an empty stomach. The white sesame tantan noodles were simply delicious! The soup was not too heavy, but still had that delicious taste of a local Chinese restaurant. The noodles were thin and I really liked them. And the half-fried rice was amazing! I also tried some of the Nikushichi, which was also delicious, but personally, I preferred the white sesame tantan noodles with the half-fried rice. I regret not exploring the underground area of TOC before it was rebuilt. I hope to have another chance to visit before then. Next time, I want to try the boiled dumplings and half-fried rice. Overall, I had a delicious lunch!

I tried this Chuka Soba for the first time, which is made with domestic wheat and without any chemical seasonings. The poster mentioned a "secret seafood essence," and I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be fantastic. It reminded me of Harukiya in Ogikubo, with a good balance of dried fish and oil flavors. It also had its own unique taste. The noodles had a rustic texture, with a bit of a chewy feel. The soup was plentiful, allowing for a satisfying meal. While Shino-san is known for their Nikushichi, I personally think their ramen is of much higher quality. It's strange that they haven't been recognized as one of the top ramen shops in Gotanda among ramen enthusiasts.

I had lunch at TОC Building two days in a row. On the second day, I went to the most famous Chinese restaurant in TОC, "Shokudo Shino." It was almost full during lunchtime with a line outside. The most popular dish is the specialty "Pork Shichimi Yaki Teishoku," but I chose to have the set menu with "Ramen and Half Chahan." The authentic ramen had a strong dashi broth with a blend of animal-based soup, which you wouldn't expect from a typical Chinese restaurant. I enjoyed it with the moist chahan, which is synonymous with Chinese restaurants. TОC is scheduled for reconstruction due to the aging of the building, and "Shino" will also move towards Gotanda Station. I'll have to try the Pork Shichi at the new location. Around me, the overwhelming majority of orders are for meat and leek stir-fry. There was also a young person who ordered meat and leek soba. The food was served in about 8 minutes after ordering. "Nikushichi" is famous, so I ordered the Nikushichi soba and Nikushichi set meal. The meat itself was honestly nothing special, something that could be recreated at home. However, the Nikushichi soba (or ramen) had a unique flavor in the soup that made it irresistible. The prices were a bit high for a local Chinese restaurant, and the table seats had hard and high chairs.

It is a famous and popular restaurant. It is rare to have a tatami room in an underground shopping mall in the city. Today, there were about 7 people waiting outside, but the turnover is good. This was my first visit even though I am a local, so I ordered the Nikushichi, which seems to be a popular choice. The dish is not cooked to order but pre-made. The service is fast. Some reviews mentioned the portion size, but it is not as big as expected, with cabbage on top. At 1150 yen including tax, it felt a bit lacking in quantity. The flavor is mild without much spiciness. I didn't feel like it was a good value for the price. The atmosphere of the crowded restaurant, possibly due to many TV appearances, is quite impressive. The ramen is free of chemical seasonings and made from domestically produced wheat.

Excitedly grabbing the meat and mixing it with rice, enjoying the rich flavor, the rice goes down smoothly. It's not so spicy, with a hint of ginger and a little seven-spice flavor, the chopsticks keep moving. This taste, this is Nikushichi. No, I'm just a rice thief. Sometimes mixing in cabbage keeps the taste fresh. The hot miso soup is also good. Quietly enjoying it, feeling reassured. Asking for a free refill, of course, calculating the total. I stopped by at 12:55 on Sunday. I waited for a space where a wheelchair could enter because I entered with my wife and father-in-law. After waiting for 5 minutes, we entered, and the narrow interior made it uncomfortable as customers passed behind us. The staff were half nice and half not. I ordered omurice for 949 yen and ankake yakisoba for 1,049 yen. My wife ordered a fried egg set meal for 990 yen, and my father-in-law ordered Chinese soba for 800 yen. The dishes were served one by one within 5 minutes, and each portion was huge! My wife was astonished by the fried egg set meal in front of her... (゚o゚;; Let's start with the ankake yakisoba that arrived first. It was piping hot with a rich sauce and plenty of ingredients, very delicious! The yakisoba had a crispy surface, and the texture was enjoyable. The single quail egg felt special! I started eating, and then the omurice was brought to the table! Since there was no space, I had to hold up the plate while eating. It was also huge! The egg had a hole in it, which was disappointing (-。-; It was generously covered in ketchup, and the rice was not chicken rice but minced meat and onion ketchup rice. I combined the leftover fried egg and pasta salad, put it on the rice, and poured soy sauce on top to eat! The crispy fried egg had a nice aroma, like a retro-style bowl from a Showa-era diner. I somehow managed to finish all three dishes. The place was always full, indicating its popularity. It was inconvenient for wheelchair users. The menu still displayed prices without tax, and it felt like time had stopped in the past. The prices were a bit high, but the portions were generous. Then, the seven spice and sesame add accents to it. It's not spicy, but rather has a rich flavor. Eating the meat and mayo cabbage together is just heavenly. It's the best lunch. Why is Seven Spice Mayo so delicious? I wish there was more mayo. The rice refill is free once, so many women are getting refills. The rice is so delicious. I resisted my desires and didn't get a refill, but I am satisfied with my meal. Many people were ordering dishes other than Nikushichi, so next time, I want to try a different menu item.

The fried rice was delicious! It was more on the moist side and very satisfying. Looking at the other menu items, it seems like they cater more towards those who want a hearty meal. One of their specialties is a dish called Nikushichi, which is meat stir-fried with shichimi (Japanese seven spice) or red pepper. The person I went with had the Nikushichi ramen and it was also very tasty! I will definitely go back!

Today I stopped by Gotanda for work. I decided to check out a famous restaurant that I had been wanting to try for a while. It's known as Nikushichi. They serve a meat-based set meal that was just what I was in the mood for. The dish consisted of delicious meat on top of shredded cabbage. I enjoyed eating it with the cabbage, as it was quite refreshing and healthy. I skipped the mayonnaise, but the portion was generous and even though it was a regular size, it was a bit challenging towards the end. However, I managed to finish it all. I believe I saw this place on TV (during the evening news program) and the staff were very polite and friendly, which I appreciated. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come back again.

Rice restaurant located in the basement of Gotanda TOC. I visited for lunch on a weekday after a long time. It seems that the TOC building itself is scheduled for demolition, and the number of shops has decreased, making it a bit lonely. Shino's Niku-hichi set meal is the best recommendation. It has always been my go-to choice. It is served quickly. The white rice is also generously portioned. The quality of the pork seems to have declined a bit... I saw on YouTube that the CTO of this building will be gone in a year, and it made me crave Nikushichi, so I came to the restaurant Shino. They are very particular about the meat, rice, and seasonings they use, using only domestic high-quality ingredients without any chemical seasonings. On my way out, I asked the receptionist at the building if it will really be gone, and they said that plan has been canceled! There are no plans for demolition for a while!

On my day off (Saturday), I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I arrived around 12:00 and had to wait for about 10 minutes (2 groups ahead of me). By the time I finished eating and left, there were 10 groups waiting. I tried their specialty dish, Nikushichi, which seemed to be the most popular. It consisted of thinly sliced pork grilled on a bed of shredded cabbage with a soy sauce base and shichimi spice. The simple seasoning was delicious and I think it might become addictive! I feel like I could make it myself, but it might not turn out as well. Next time, I want to try the Set of Chashu Ramen and Fried Rice!

I have always wanted to go to this restaurant that Kenkoba-san recommended on TV. The place was packed, but our food arrived in just 3 minutes after ordering. Pork belly is so delicious, right? I ordered the extra large portion and it was very satisfyingly filling. Thank you for the delicious meal.
