I enjoy eating the soft and smooth warabi mochi with black honey. It is incredibly delicious! I also tried the matcha flavor, but I prefer the warabi mochi with black honey. You can buy it at the Isetan department store's basement food floor. Once you try it, you'll become addicted to this dish. It makes you want to order it again and again. ♡

While strolling towards Nanzenji Temple, I stumbled upon this place and it looked familiar. I decided to take a closer look and it seemed delicious, so I rang the chime. The lady who greeted me was very polite. She mentioned that they were currently not offering dine-in options, so I opted for takeout. The warabi mochi I bought was incredibly delicious and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I don't think I can go back to eating other warabi mochi for a while.

When I visited Kyoto in the autumn of 2022, I wanted to stop by a physical store but had to give up due to my travel schedule. However, I had obtained information in advance that this product was available in the basement of Isetan, so I purchased it to enjoy on the return Shinkansen ride. There were two types available, regular and matcha, and I chose the regular type. After enjoying sushi from a certain store on the Shinkansen, I finally had the eagerly awaited dish. It was a sticky warabi mochi with Tamba black bean and kinako sauce (requires refrigeration), with a separate sauce. When I scooped it with a spoon after pouring the sauce, the warabi mochi was very soft and stretchy, even in a cup! The flavor of the warabi mochi itself was very good, and the kinako sauce added a nice aroma, sweetness, and depth of flavor. The smooth sweet bean paste was also just right. It was truly a wonderful warabi mochi. I'm not sure if the cup version is the same as the one served at the store, but I would have loved to try it there. I don't know when, but when I visit Kyoto again, if I can go nearby, I will try to adjust my schedule to visit and enjoy it.
