This is a chocolate and gelato shop that I love and visit many times. It is located in the Ginza 4-chome area along Matsuya Street. You might know it as being diagonally across from the SHISEIDO flagship store. It is a long-established gelato and chocolate shop that originated from Italy, with Ginza being its first location in Japan. Since its opening, there has always been a line for the gelato, and it continues to be popular (especially in the summer). Many people may have given up on visiting after seeing the long lines during weekend afternoons. However, it is less crowded at night, making it a good time to visit! This time, we visited after having dinner to have dessert. There were only a few customers waiting for gelato, so we were able to get our order without much of a wait. We ordered the Gelato Piccolo (2 flavors) for 864 yen. The gelato flavors change regularly, with around 10 flavors usually available. The flavors we chose this time were "Summertime" (2023 summer limited edition version) and Almond. "Summertime" is a tropical flavor blended with fresh milk gelato as a base, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, and mango. It has a mix of sweetness and acidity, creating a very interesting taste, truly reflecting the Venchi style gelato. The Almond flavor has a prominent nutty taste that nut lovers will enjoy. With the creamy gelato base, the satisfaction level is quite high. While the gelato was satisfying, my true purpose was the orange peel! The orange peel is sold by weight (around 20 yen per gram) and I bought 10 pieces for around 2400 yen. It is a high-quality orange peel that goes perfectly with the moderate sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate. It's a taste of happiness. I feel like I could easily eat many pieces, but due to its high quality, I try to control myself. Personally, I had been avoiding this place as I felt like I had visited too many times and was getting tired of it. However, upon revisiting, I realized once again that Venchi is indeed a delicious shop.

On Saturday, my family and I took a stroll in Ginza and visited a shop that my wife wanted to try. There was a line outside, but we were able to get inside fairly quickly. However, we had to wait quite a while inside. The ordering system was to choose the size and cone first, then pay. We ordered two scoops of famous chocolate flavors and one scoop each of caramel and strawberry flavors. It was a hot day, so we couldn't enjoy the ice cream slowly, which may have affected our overall experience. The taste didn't quite live up to the price, but we did enjoy the atmosphere. The chocolate flavors were definitely delicious.

During a hot lunchtime on a regular day, I saw no line outside the shop so I took the chance to go in. Inside, there were about 10 people in line. The smallest size, Piccolo, costs 800 yen and you can choose from two flavors: Fiore di Latte (milk) and Venchi Cream (custard). Both were rich but not overly sweet and delicious. I also tried the limited-time Summer Time flavor, which was also delicious. The gourmet cone looked tasty too, so I would like to try it next time.

Here there is no indoor seating area, so you can only eat outside. Therefore, after being served, you have to eat outside. However, I had trouble finding a place to eat as outdoor dining was not allowed. Despite the delicious gelato, I had to eat it quickly due to the scorching sun. I went to Venchi Ginza store with my friend on a weekday night. I have eaten at Venchi several times in Italy and it is my favorite gelato shop in the world. This was my first time trying Venchi in Japan. The Azteco is the richest chocolate flavor and very dense, while the Pistachio has a good aroma and a mature taste without being too sweet. They are open late, so it's a great place to visit after dinner. Just be careful because the ice cream melts easily in the summer. Visited Piccolo on a Saturday afternoon for 880 yen. Not very knowledgeable about desserts or sweets, but I found this shop in Ginza with a long line. I decided to wait in line to beat the summer heat. It only took about 5 minutes to get inside, and another 5-10 minutes to order and receive my dessert. The Piccolo comes with a double scoop of ice cream, where you can choose two flavors. This time, I chose the Azteco bitter chocolate and tiramisu. The rich flavors were very elegant and delicious. The chocolate on top was a nice touch. However, because of the richness, it made me quite thirsty, so it may not be the best choice for cooling down in the heat. If you want to enjoy a fashionable and elegant dessert, I recommend this place.

A very rich chocolate ice cream. Orders start with a minimum of 2 flavors. You can also choose 3 or 4 flavors. This time I chose the Chocolate Bia 75% and Gianduiotto Venezuela. The chocolate on top is bitter, so it's best to eat that first. Many people eat outside the shop, but be careful as there are often pigeons. The price is high, but it's very delicious so I definitely want to come back again!

So, it's time for some gelato. There are a few inbound guests in front of the shop, but there's no one waiting inside. Of course, who would think of enjoying gelato on a day like this, especially in the late afternoon? The raccoon carefully picked out melon, almond, asteco (dark chocolate), and stracciatella (chocolate chip) flavors in a grande cup. With no eating allowed inside, the raccoon enjoyed the gelato outside under an umbrella. The chocolate flavor was delicious, and the almond had a nice scent. And that's the end of the meal.

Favorite chocolate & gelato shop in Ginza. I felt like having it after a long time, so I lined up. The line wasn't moving at all, but then I realized they are having a campaign from June 10th to June 30th where the second item is 50% off, so everyone was ordering two or more items, causing the line to be twice as long as usual. I didn't notice at first, but it was nice to get a good deal on my purchase. Always delicious! ♡♡♡

The long-awaited cone was like gourmet cone. My friend had fior di latte, pistachio, melon, and topped it with whipped cream. It seems like all women love pistachio! Gelato after yakiniku is the best! It really refreshes your mouth. I thought the almond flavor would be rich, but it was surprisingly light. It was a great dessert after yakiniku. Usually, I go for cups, but today I went for the cone... It was heavy with solid toppings, so I'll stick to cups next time. I bought various chocolates as souvenirs for my friend. I also bought white chocolate with nuts, but of course, I won't eat it myself... My daughter didn't seem to like the chocolates I bought last time, so this time I gave the white chocolate to a female staff member, and she was genuinely happy. There were many hazelnut chocolates, but I tried to choose a variety like pistachio, tiramisu, creme brulee, cappuccino, etc. My favorite was the caramel panna cotta. After filling the bag, I bought gelato. This time I got it in a cup, with pineapple & coconut and fior di latte flavors. I had tried strawberry flavors at the Ikebukuro store, so I chose the unusual pineapple flavor this time. I used the space right next to the store in Ginza to eat, holding an umbrella in the rain. If it had been sunny, I wouldn't have been able to eat alone due to embarrassment. After the first bite, I knew it was the right choice! The combination of coconut and pineapple was amazing. Fior di latte was a classic milk flavor that I couldn't miss. I want to try the chocolate flavors next time. Mixing them would be delicious... I want to eat more, haha. The milk chocolate topping was also delicious. Venchi is really tasty! I had a very satisfying night. I felt like I might even win the lottery, haha. The next day, when I told my daughter that I had bought chocolates, she replied, "I bought it as a reward for myself and ate it." Oh no... She thinks I'm just bragging about eating it. To prevent this, I had already asked the staff about it. They told me to put the gelato in the freezer within an hour of purchasing it. I need to go to Shinjuku Takashimaya, which is the closest to my home, this week. I took a screenshot of the Venchi app's menu and sent it to my daughter. I'll have her choose her favorite flavor.
