I really wanted to try this G1 yakisoba. Well, it's actually called Imagawayaki, but if you come to the racecourse, you want to try something with a special feeling, right? I watched the horses in the paddock a bit before heading over. They had a premium G1 yakisoba, and on that day it was matcha cream flavor. Matcha, huh... I opted for the regular G1 yakisoba with red bean paste. I received it piping hot and enjoyed it on a bench in the shade of a nearby tree. There were benches scattered all over the racecourse, which was nice because you could easily sit down when you got tired. As for the G1 yakisoba itself, it was just like a regular Imagawayaki. It was delicious while still hot. The tripe skewer was quite nice. The texture was different between the red and white tripe, which was interesting. Enjoying the tripe skewer with a plum sour drink. It was the best! By the time I left, there was a long line!

I lined up near the paddock at Tokyo Racecourse to buy tickets for the G1 Yasuda Kinen. While waiting for the horses to come out in the paddock, I ate. It was my first time trying matcha. It was a sunny day, but the paddock was crowded with people! It was a fun day meeting lots of favorite horses.

Today was the long-awaited Japan Derby! It has been exactly one year since I got into horse racing. I was determined to win and after careful consideration, I chose the top pick, Skillvring, number 2. However, it was very disappointing, or rather sad, that my bet (of course) did not hit. Nevertheless, I still feel that animals are gentle creatures that deserve to be treated kindly. The green tea G1 steak was delicious.

Around 4:00 PM on Sunday, I was drawn in by the cute appearance of this shop near the paddock. They had a G1 baked cream for 170 yen, which was warm and chewy, and I devoured it in no time! I want to explore more of the Tokyo Racecourse gourmet scene these days ♡ The restaurant has a Foodie rating of 3.26 as of May 2023!

Four friends went to Tokyo Racecourse for the first time. When they arrived, they tried the "G1 Yaki," which they had been wanting to eat. It was a normal Saturday, not a G1 race day, so they were worried that it might not be available. Luckily, it was. The "G1 Yaki" with red bean paste and cream cost 170 yen, while the "Premium G1 Yaki" with seasonal fillings cost 200 yen. On that day, they had the matcha flavor. The branding on the pastry was neat and they enjoyed the warm and delicious treat.

Around 1 pm today, it was very crowded probably due to G1. I had to wait for 20 minutes. Just made it in time for the 7th race to start. I tried the G1 yakis (cream) for 170 yen. The horse brand is nice! The shape is not round, but the bottom is flat. The dough is elastic.

I came to Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu for the first time! Before the horse race, I decided to grab something to eat and I found G1 Yakisoba! There was a long line at the stall behind the paddock probably because it was the day of the February Stakes... In addition to G1 Yakisoba, I also ordered skewered beef and white beer. G1 Yakisoba is basically Imagawayaki, with red bean paste inside a chewy skin, packed full and piping hot, really delicious! The skewered beef is not grilled on a skewer but simmered, with zero smell and tender, it tasted surprisingly authentic for a stall, really delicious!

Inside the Tokyo Racecourse near the paddock, there is a tent shop. The menu that caught my attention was the Premium G1 Grill for 170 yen. They also offer white and red intestines grills for 220 yen each, intestine stew for 550 yen, beef tendon tofu for 600 yen, intestine stew bowl for 730 yen, and beef tendon bowl for 850 yen. On a day without a graded race, I visited the Fuchu Racecourse for the first time. I bought the Premium G1 Grill as a souvenir on my way back. It costs 170 yen (tax included) and is like a round cake filled with red bean paste or cream (similar to Uma Musume's manju cake?). The shape is not perfectly round, more like a horseshoe maybe. They also had a seasonal limited edition with strawberry cream. The bag they put it in is cute.

Those who have watched horse racing programs are likely to know that there is a place called the paddock. It is a place where the horses are showcased before the race for assessment and inspection. Tokyo Racecourse, which is considered top in the JRA, has two hidden shops behind the paddock. One of the shops is known for its G1 yaki, a type of nowayaki, which has been loved since the Showa era. They also serve delicious motsu skewers and motsu stew. While the skewers may seem a bit pricey at 200 yen each, they are large and filling. The taste of the meat is different from the cheap and tender taste found at Oi Racecourse, but it is a satisfying flavor for older gentlemen. If you want to experience a taste of the Showa era while in the Reiwa era, this is the place to visit!

After a light meal of soba noodles, we decided to have a drink before heading to the paddock. We found this place tucked away near the paddock. To celebrate the upcoming victory, we ordered the "Red & White Intestine Skewers". The white one was the familiar "white intestine", but the red one... I have no idea! We sprinkled some shichimi spice on them and they were delicious! Chewing on the intestines and sipping beer, we felt happy and content. After finishing our meal, we headed to the paddock. It was a great meal. Thank you. *On this day, unexpectedly, due to hail, the races were canceled after the 10th race! It was the first time in 14 years since the 2005 Chukyo Horse Racing that races were canceled due to unpredictable weather.

I enjoyed the horse racing track a lot! I put a lot of effort into predicting, watching the paddock, and watching the races, and before I knew it, it was already the final race. I had to eat this before leaving the race track! It's the G1 baked treat, which is basically just imagawayaki (a type of Japanese sweet pancake filled with sweet red bean paste or other fillings). But it has a special stamp on it, so it feels extra special. There are regular ones with red bean paste, cream, and premium ones with cream cheese. I bought them all because the goats were going to eat them with me haha. There is a small garden-like area where I felt relaxed, and there are TVs showing the horse races live wherever you are, which is nice. The taste was not freshly made, but it was slightly warm and comforting. The premium cream cheese one was the most delicious! As expected of the premium one. I am grateful to the goats who brought me to the race track that I've always wanted to visit. I tried to show my gratitude with my body, but it was casually avoided haha.

I was drawn to the design and definitely wanted to buy the G1 yakisoba. I chose custard and matcha custard. It was delicious in a safe, normal imagawayaki-like way!

Located near the paddock. Just as imagined, the dorayaki is big. But delicious.

Whenever I go to the Fuchu Racecourse, I always end up eating this. It's a normal Imagawayaki with a G1 horse mark stamped on it, but the atmosphere is important. It comes with red bean paste and custard filling, and you can buy it at a shop near the paddock.笑

Beef tendon tofu for 500 yen. Repeat purchase. Rating: ★★★★★
Located at Tokyo Racecourse. The beef tendon tofu is simmered slowly and you can tell from its appearance that it has a rich flavor. This beef tendon stew is delicious. It's a dish that I keep coming back for.
