I was introduced to Gotanda by an acquaintance and it was my debut there. It's a lively, bustling alley where you can find a variety of delicious dishes like motsu-yaki and sushi. Look for the cute beetle as a landmark. We toasted with large beer mugs and enjoyed tasty dishes like motsu-ni, motsu-yaki, and ham katsu. The food was delicious and went well with the drinks! Great taste! Generous portions! It's easy to get drunk here! I will definitely come back!

It's great that they are open late at night! The place was crowded, so it seems like everyone thinks the same. It's convenient that you can eat oden all year round, and it would be popular in the local area. I wish they would open one near my house. Also, the bottled retro oolong tea was a nice touch.

I visited the Beetle restaurant in Gotanda. It's about a 3-4 minute walk from Gotanda station! The interior has counter and table seating. My impression of the Gotanda branch is that, compared to other Beetle restaurants I've been to, I feel like they could improve a bit on the quality of ingredients and sashimi. The liver skewers were overcooked and had a burnt taste. The freshly ground liver steak was delicious. I ordered a sashimi platter with three types of fish, and while the tuna was fresh, the amberjack had some black spots as shown in the photo. The tripe stew had tender tripe and was tasty. A large piece of tofu is served under the tripe stew. The atmosphere and staff service were good, so if they could just improve the quality of the food, I think it would be more inviting to visit.

We visited popular restaurant Beetle with our company members in Sendai, Urawa, and other locations. However, it seems that standardizing the stores is quite challenging. I won't go into details, but it was not a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, there was no customer service to match the delicious food. Thank you for the meal.

Visited alone on a weekday night. Was enjoying my drinks, but when I went to the restroom, my drink and everything else was cleaned up and a new customer was being seated. I was already thinking of leaving, so I said I was ready to pay, and the response was just a flat "okay." Really turned me off. Even at a casual pub, basic customer service is expected. Food was okay.

On this day, after finishing at the gym in the afternoon, I went for a lunch drink with my gym buddies in Gotanda! Last time we visited at night and it was crowded, but this time we went right after they opened for lunch so it wasn't too busy. However, it started filling up pretty quickly and it's definitely a popular spot. We toasted with the famous Chinchiror Highball! We got lucky with the dice rolls this time - we got doubles once, even numbers twice, and odd numbers twice, so that was a bit of a bonus, I guess? Each person ordered their own dishes. We had fried horse mackerel, ham cutlet, deep-fried river shrimp, raw beef liver sashimi, miso-flavored green peppers, stewed tripe, and more... We were able to try a wide variety of dishes. Come to think of it, we didn't have any skewers...

The restaurant has a retro atmosphere that would be perfect for a TV commercial with handsome and charming staff. It's the kind of place you would want to visit if it was near your workplace. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but they had a variety of dishes like sashimi, fried chicken, meat and tofu, and sake-steamed clams. The best part was the affordable prices that would make any commoner happy.

Second place. Lucky to be able to walk in! Potato salad, skin-on fried potatoes, chicken karaage, sashimi platter, bluefin tuna, daikon radish, ginger highball. The lively atmosphere unique to a casual izakaya was actually quite comfortable. The Japanese-style dishes were all delicious!

I visited before 11 PM on a regular day and was able to enter smoothly. The restaurant was quite busy with many customers. I ordered a Mega Highball, which was quite strong! Since I was already full, I only ordered light dishes, which was great.

The food was all tasty and reasonably priced, making BEETLE a popular spot. As the restaurant filled up, we realized just how beloved this place is. It would be great if BEETLE opened more branches in other locations.

Chinchirorai is a great deal! It's a highball drink, but if you roll a double number, it's half price, and if it's an odd number, it's double the price for two drinks, so you won't lose out! The grilled skewers and oden are delicious, and it's convenient to be able to make reservations online! The staff are kind and the potato is tasty. When you ask for the bill, they give you a complimentary clam soup at the end, which is amazing and the best!

A popular izakaya in Gotanda where I met up with friends after shopping. Located just a 3-4 minute walk from Gotanda Station, this place is a favorite among locals working in the area. The interior is mainly counter seating, with a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere. We started with a craft beer, Setouchi IPA, which was refreshing and had a nice bitterness. The cilantro bomb salad was delicious, with a great dressing that balanced out the cilantro flavor. We also tried the Bay Golden Ale from Yokohama Bay Brewing, which had a smooth and refreshing taste. The liver paste had a unique flavor that paired well with drinks. The tofu and meat dish was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the thickly cut bonito tataki was a delight. The shrimp and green bean dish was flavorful and had a nice texture. We also tried the Dewar's highball, which was surprisingly affordable. The ham cutlet was artfully presented and tasted great with mustard. The assorted skewers were large and filling, perfect for sharing. The bill came out to around 3,000 yen per person, making it a great value for the quality of food and drinks. The place was packed by the time we left, with people waiting outside. Overall, a satisfying and affordable dining experience that I wish I had in my neighborhood.

The daikon was tender and had a nice texture when you bite into it, with a slight tangy accent from grated konbu. - Niku Dofu (480 yen): Next, we tried the "niku dofu" dish. The flavor was intense, making it a great accompaniment for drinks. - Hoppy Black (300 yen): We also ordered a Hoppy Black, which went perfectly with the atmosphere of the restaurant. You can enjoy yourself enough in Gotanda without going to Monzen-Nakacho. It had been a while since I last went drinking, and it had also been a while since I visited Gotanda. I came to this place, which is said to have good cost performance and delicious food. The interior with the traditional counter in the shape of the character "コ" was not bad. All the snacks we ordered were delicious, and there were no disappointments in the recommendations. The drinks also came out quickly, making the payment process smooth. The prices were relatively cheap, mostly around ¥500. Surprisingly, they even had craft beer available. I ordered the following items: Craft Beer ¥550, Highball ¥210, ¥840, Liver and Garlic ¥500, Assorted Sashimi ¥620, Ham Cutlet ¥430, Meat and Tofu ¥480, Total ¥3420. They had two types of craft beer, both of which were delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to find craft beer in such a casual pub. The Highball was served with a dice game where odd numbers meant half price, even numbers meant double the amount and price, and doubles meant it was free. It was a fun way to order drinks without worrying about the cost. The food was also delicious. The Liver and Garlic was fresh and cooked on a hot stone, easy to enjoy. The sashimi portion was generous for the price, and the quality was decent. The Ham Cutlet was thick and tasty. However, the standout dish was the Meat and Tofu. It was amazing. The beef belly was cooked to perfection, and the tofu was piping hot. The meat was more like a rich hash beef rather than typical meat and tofu. It was incredibly delicious. Overall, the food was tasty, and the prices were very affordable. In terms of cost performance, this place might be the best in the area. I would definitely want to come back here.

I visited the restaurant on the Sunday in the middle of the three-day weekend at 2:30 pm. It's good that they offer small, medium, and large sizes of draft beer. I started with a draft beer for a toast. I tried the fried horse mackerel, lotus root tempura, simmered tripe, and homemade meat tofu. Each dish was on the smaller side, and the fried items had a heavy batter that wasn't crispy. The meat tofu looked nice but lacked flavor, and the beef tendon was not tender. The green onions seemed a bit old. I had high hopes for this clean and stylish restaurant, but with this quality, I won't be returning.

After going to a sushi restaurant with my friend, we still felt like drinking more, so we decided to go to a second bar. The first place we wanted to go was closed, so we found another restaurant while walking. We ordered motsu-nabe (beef tripe stew) for 390 yen, namero (a type of fish dish) for 420 yen, deep-fried river shrimp for 420 yen, and 5 skewers of yakitori. The menu had a lot of options and everything was so cheap that we couldn't help but order more. Everything was delicious and perfect with alcohol, so we ended up ordering a large jug of sake even though it was only our second stop. This place is recommended for days when you want to have a lively and fun time at a casual izakaya!
