I visited a tea house during my sightseeing in Asakusa. It was a refreshing break in the lingering heat of September. I was soothed by the pleasant aroma of tea and the relaxed Japanese atmosphere. I ordered a beer with matcha syrup. It had the taste of a Super Dry beer with the fragrance of matcha. It was a strange combination but surprisingly refreshing and delicious. Thank you for the meal!

★2.0【FILE 4210】2023/08/24 (Thursday) 14:10 Visited a matcha sweets specialty store that opened on the first floor along the Denboin Street in Asakusa 2 years and 10 months ago in October 2020. There are three stores in total: the first store, Raichi Asakusa Main Store opened in March 2016, the second store, Raichi Asakusa Matcha Experience Store opened in March 2019, and the third store, Raichi Asakusa Denboin Street Store opened in October 2020. "Current Edition" as of May 2023, there have been no new store openings or closures, with 25 stores remaining. The interior of the store has a calm atmosphere with white and wood tones. There are no tables, only chairs. It was very crowded during the visit and remained crowded afterwards. The customer base is 80% female and 20% male. The service is efficiently handled by two female staff members. The menu includes: - Matcha Warabi with 3.5% Kyoto Prefecture stone-ground first-class tea leaves for 850 yen (tax included) - Matcha for 650 yen (tax included) - Matcha Warabi with 2.5% Kyoto Prefecture stone-ground first-class tea leaves for 700 yen (tax included) - Matcha for 500 yen (tax included) - Hojicha Warabi for 650 yen (tax included) - Hojicha for 450 yen (tax included) - Royal Milk Tea Warabi for 650 yen (tax included) - Royal Milk Tea for 450 yen (tax included) - Matcha Latte with 1 serving (4g matcha) for 700 yen (tax included) - Matcha Latte with 2 servings (6g matcha) for 900 yen (tax included) - Matcha Latte with 3 servings (8g matcha) for 1100 yen (tax included). I ordered the Matcha Latte with 3 servings (8g matcha) for 1100 yen. The Matcha Latte was served 3 minutes after ordering. It is a latte made with 8g of Uji hand-picked stone-ground first-class tea, combined with milk, creating a rich matcha latte. However, the matcha flavor was not as strong as expected, lacking depth and richness. For 1100 yen, the thin matcha flavor was disappointing, and I did not feel satisfied. The store has a calm atmosphere with white and wood tones, and despite only having chairs and no tables, it is always crowded. Various cashless payment options are available. The Matcha Latte with 3 servings (8g matcha) for 1100 yen at Raichi is supposed to be the richest matcha latte, but the lack of matcha flavor for the price was a big letdown.

Asakusa was extremely crowded on the weekend! It was hot, so I took a break and ordered matcha warabi mochi (?). Luckily, a space opened up and I was able to sit down for a little break. The drink was also delicious!

I tried the chilled matcha (700 yen) and it was delicious. It had a pleasant bitterness with smoothness and richness that made it taste better the more I drank. It was even better than the matcha I had in Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa. This shop has many tempting matcha sweets, but if you want to enjoy matcha, I highly recommend the chilled matcha. The price is not cheap, but it's worth trying at least once.

Matcha can be found at several matcha shops in Asakusa! There was a bit of a line! I tried the Matcha Latte (¥900 for 2 cups), but it wasn't for me. They also had Matcha for 1-3 cups (6g of matcha per cup), which I assume would taste good for those who enjoy it, but I personally couldn't drink it. It didn't have a strong flavor, just a mix of matcha sweetness and a slight bitterness. The bitterness wasn't bothersome, but it was there. It was easy to drink, without any astringency. The aftertaste was a bit weak. Thank you for the meal.

After seeing "Matcha Beer" on a TV program, I decided to visit this place in Asakusa. The shop has three locations, all of which are only found in the Asakusa area, giving it a true Edo feel! The Matcha Beer for 700 yen is easy to drink and you can have as much as you want. Pouring the beer from a Matcha tea bowl-like cup really makes you feel like you're in a tea house. Look for the "Japan Daikichi Statue" on Denboin Street as a landmark! Japan Daikichi was a notorious thief in the Edo period, and his statue serves as a reminder of his legacy. The three locations in Asakusa are the Asakusa Main Store at 1-15-9 Hanakawado, the Matcha Experience Store at 2-7-3 Asakusa, and the Niocha Salon Issa at 2-2 Asakusa.

I lined up to buy it, but the matcha beer didn't taste as good as I expected... I think? However, the concept is new and the customer service from the staff was very polite! The service was also quick, even though I waited in line, by the time I reached the register, it was over in an instant, making me wonder why the line wasn't moving faster.

A shop on the Asakusa Denpo-in Street, visited on the middle day of a three-day weekend. Usually there is a long line, but there was no line this time so I decided to buy it. The beer is indeed dyed with a faint matcha aroma, with a subtle matcha flavor in the beer itself. The foam has a stronger matcha flavor. As for my preference... I probably won't visit again next time.

It was too hot, so I was drawn to the matcha shaved ice and decided to go in. The strong matcha flavor allows you to relax and enjoy. I also tried matcha beer for the first time. It was so rich in matcha flavor! It was very crowded with tourists, probably because it's summer vacation.

The shop on Denboin-dori, ordered "Matcha Warabi" upon entering, received a tag and waited for my turn in a tea shop-like atmosphere. The system for making the product was well done, with the option for dine-in or take-out. The bear-shaped monaka was delightful, and the shop was well thought out. Thank you for the meal, and thank you very much.

Walking in Asakusa with friends. They wanted something sweet to eat, so we stumbled upon this place with no prior information. It's a beautiful shop. You buy at the counter and wait to be called. The prices are reasonable, around 600 yen for tea. I wasn't in the mood for something sweet, so I opted for a matcha beer. When my order was ready, I picked it up. It had a nice balance of beer and matcha flavors, both coming through well. Later, I realized they also sell matcha beer outside the shop. My friend had a matcha soft serve, which was rich in matcha flavor. It came with a cute bear-shaped spoon. One of my friends doesn't like the texture of Monaka wafers, but that's just personal preference. It's not a place to sit and relax, but great for a quick treat while walking around.

When sightseeing in Asakusa, be sure to visit here. For matcha lovers, this place is highly recommended. The matcha latte here has a very nice matcha aroma. While some matcha lattes may not have a strong tea flavor, this one definitely does! They also have a variety of matcha sweets available for purchase. Next time I go, I want to try something other than just drinks!

The shop has a small photo booth for drinks, free water, and offers individual taste tests, making it a friendly place. The entrance to the toilet was surprisingly narrow, but inside it was spacious and clean. The main disappointment was that the warabi mochi was too small to really taste, but the drinks were delicious.

The overall sweetness is subtle, but the taste is luxurious, highlighting the sweetness of the matcha itself. Although the soft serve on top of the panda-shaped monaka caught my attention, I stayed true to my decision and ordered the shaved ice. You can sample some souvenirs before and after placing your order.

I stopped by around 3:00 pm on a holiday and was able to order without waiting in line!! [Ordered Menu] Matcha Ice Cream for 550 yen. You can choose between a cup or a cone, and I chose the cone without hesitation. I ordered and it was served fairly quickly! The indoor seating area (long bench) was full, so I sat outside where there happened to be an empty long bench. They were also offering a tasting of matcha, so I enjoyed it with freshly brewed matcha. The ice cream is made with 2.5-3.5% Kyoto-produced stone-milled first-class tea leaves. It was quite rich and delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Raiicha Denpoin-dori Store on Tabelog 3.16 (Main Store 3.30) "High-quality matcha is not bitter" is the concept of Raiicha. When the staff approached me and offered a taste of matcha chocolate, the rich matcha flavor was delicious! Upon entering the store, there is a counter register on the right side for matcha drinks and more. On the left side, there are plenty of matcha sweets. As I looked around the store, the staff offered me a taste of matcha "Rai Okoshi" next. They said it's perfect as a snack with matcha beer. The matcha sweets made with the finest first tea are a vibrant matcha color. All are fragrance-free, color-free, and offer the true flavor of matcha, making them gentle on the body. - Matcha Beer ¥700: The refreshing bitterness and sweetness of matcha are added to the bitterness of beer, creating a smooth taste. It certainly seems like it would go well with matcha "Rai Okoshi." - Matcha Iced Latte ¥600: A beautiful two-layered rich matcha and smooth milk combination. The matcha has a strong aroma and rich flavor, with no bitterness at all. It's not too sweet and refreshing to drink. These luxurious drinks and sweets use more than double the amount of matcha normally used. This is possible because high-quality matcha has little bitterness, so you can put a lot without it becoming bitter. Although the first tea is inevitably expensive due to its low harvest, they use it generously because they want people to taste the high-quality matcha. Walking around Asakusa in a kimono with matcha sweets and drinks in hand adds a touch of color and a more Japanese feel. Address: 2-2-2 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo Phone: 03-5830-6948 Closed on irregular days Opening hours: Monday 10:00-17:00, Tuesday-Sunday 10:00-18:00 Other: Reservations not accepted, credit cards accepted, electronic money accepted, wheelchair accessible, stroller accessible, children welcome [Raiicha Asakusa Main Store] 1F Parkside Hanakawado, 1-15-9 Hanakawado, Taito-ku, Tokyo [Raiicha Matcha Experience Store] 2-7-3 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo

When we visited in December 2021, the ground floor of the store was under renovation, so we placed our order, paid, and received our items on the ground floor before going upstairs to eat. On the second floor, the staff gave us a sample of chocolate. The matcha ice cream had a subtle bitterness that made it easy to eat for children and foreigners. The puff had a crispy texture, allowing us to enjoy various textures and flavors in each bite. It was delicious until the last bite.

On a Sunday afternoon, I visited this restaurant on my way back to the station from Asakusa Temple, aiming for the 20% PayPay refund. There are many similar shops in the area, but this one felt safe as there are a few branches. Since I had already had lunch and dessert, I wasn't in the mood for more food, so I tried the matcha beer out of curiosity. After paying and receiving a number tag to wait, a staff member brought samples of matcha and hojicha chocolate for tasting. I tried both and found them delicious, with a strong matcha and hojicha flavor. I ended up buying the hojicha chocolate as a souvenir. Now, onto the unique matcha beer. When I took a sip, I didn't taste much matcha, just a hint in the aftertaste. It was surprisingly tasty and not as strange as it looked. Drinking beer during the day is always enjoyable. With the 20% refund, I took on the challenge and had a great experience. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming, with a relaxed atmosphere even if you don't buy anything. You can also sample freshly ground matcha inside and the staff are all friendly and approachable.

I stopped by a shop in Denboin Street in Asakusa that serves matcha sweets! The interior is spacious, with tatami benches where you can sit and enjoy drinks or soft serve. I ordered matcha ice cream. It came with a panda-shaped monaka (wafer) topping, which was not shown in the menu photos. The panda is so cute! The matcha soft serve is surrounded by tiny rice cracker-like arare, adding a nice texture and toasty flavor. The combination of the monaka and arare enhances the overall satisfaction, exceeding the price value! They also sell tea and sweets inside the shop.

This is also part of the research on Japanese sweets. In Asakusa, which is also a shopping street and pilgrimage route, the focus seems to be more on creating a theme park-like atmosphere rather than just a typical food and beverage establishment. This restaurant is designed to delight tourists. The construction is cleverly done, with the ceiling and other elements subdued in appearance. The open kitchen and the variety of Japanese sweets offered cater to a wide range of customers, effectively attracting tourists. However, the intentional and somewhat forced appeal to customers can be a bit off-putting, especially with the creation of Instagram-worthy spots. Since the restaurant originally specializes in ice cream, I believe they take great care in the quality of their products. Personally, I feel that a more natural and less calculated approach would be more appealing. Nevertheless, considering the high rent in the area, the restaurant's ability to sustain itself until tourists return is truly impressive.
