A hidden gem in Azabu-Juban, a little away from the shopping street, this cozy restaurant on the B1 floor exudes a laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of an Okinawan izakaya. With a bar counter and table seating, it's a perfect place to relax and unwind. Starting with two appetizers, the shirasu and bitter melon ohitashi, and the conger eel and cucumber, the food is delicious. The "tuna with green chili pepper and garlic soy sauce" is a delicate and flavorful dish that brings out the best in the tender tuna. The extensive menu includes premium Wagyu beef and a variety of dishes that cater to health-conscious diners. I would love to come back for a leisurely drink.

Before heading to my business trip in Thailand, I had a hearty Japanese meal at a restaurant near my apartment called "Uoohkai." I enjoyed watching the British Open Golf on TV while having some drinks. I had salt-grilled swordfish, minced bonito with grated radish, tuna marinated in green chili soy sauce, and a green salad. Moments like this make me appreciate being Japanese. While in Thailand, I will be enjoying Thai cuisine for a while, but once I return to Japan, I will definitely have sushi. Nothing beats sushi. #Minato Ward gourmet #Azabujuban gourmet #Azabujuban old man #Minato Ward old man.

After 8:00 PM, I had no plans in Roppongi so I moved to Azabu-Juban. I found a small underground restaurant by chance which was bustling with regular customers. The menu recommended by the chef did not have prices listed, which made me hesitate a bit, but the menu booklet had prices which were not too cheap but not too expensive either. We had draft beer, lemon sours, 2 servings of hot sake, otoshi (appetizers), obanzai (side dishes), isobe-age chikuwa, 2 tsukune, namida-maki, and curry udon. The otoshi was vinegar miso with firefly squid and kazunoko. We enjoyed our drinks while waiting for the food. The obanzai was presented on a cart, and the hygiene measures for COVID-19 were reassuring. We had boiled young bamboo shoots and simmered chicken in soy sauce, both with a light and delicious flavor. The highlight was the tsukune, which had a noticeable crunch from the cartilage. The curry udon was just okay, not as amazing as expected. The restaurant had a cozy and homey atmosphere, despite looking elegant in the photos on Tabelog. The prices might be slightly on the higher side, but it's a great place for a solo drink in a hidden gem.

It seems to be pronounced as "Gyokai". It has a very Azabu-Juban vibe, typical of the Minato Ward area. The prices are on the higher side, with a ham cutlet priced at 800 yen, reflecting the high land value of the Juuban area. I was surprised by the poor cost performance. The appetizer of firefly squid looked decent though. It's a place for those who want to enjoy a bit of drinking and snacking in a stylish atmosphere.

Just a 2-minute walk from Mabashi Station, this local favorite izakaya is called "Gyo-kai" (魚oh貝). Even though it is described as quite affordable on Tabelog, personally, I find it to be a bit on the pricier side when ordering a full meal. However, the quality of every dish is surprisingly high, so it's worth the price. Since the prices are not listed, I recommend checking before ordering if you're feeling unsure. Every dish is delicious, but the ankimo (monkfish liver) is especially amazing. When you take a bite, it melts in your mouth. Definitely give it a try. Also, I can't say this loudly, but business discussions may arise in the small shop... If you're interested, be sure to visit. 😉

I found this place while wandering around looking for somewhere else to go. It seems to have a lot of local customers. The menu is very extensive. They even bring out a large plate of obanzai to show you. However, the prices are not listed. Well, if you're in Azabu-Juban, it's probably not a big deal to worry about that. In the end, it's a bit pricey, but not bad.

Ma-bu Juhachi is a place where you can enjoy curry udon late at night. The restaurant is called "Gyo-kai" or "Uooh Kai." The atmosphere is sleek, but the name gives off a nostalgic 80s variety show vibe. However, this is not a joke shop, but rather a Japanese dining bar centered around fish and shellfish dishes. On the walls, there are certificates from the Imperial Household Agency, indicating participation in the preparation of dishes for the fatigue ceremony of the new palace in 1971. The shop has a history, it seems. ★ Kanpachi ¥900 Ordered this amazing sake from Oita, Usa, a barley shochu. Delicious as expected. The appetizer is also quite substantial. ★ Chicken meatball with cartilage ¥800 This is huge! The volume is incredible! And the cartilage is evenly distributed throughout the meatball, which is quite rare. The texture is amazing as it breaks apart in your mouth. I ordered one with sauce and one with salt, but the salt seasoning is quite simple, so it's best to eat it with yuzu pepper. ★ Lemon sour ¥800 Refreshing acidity for the summer. ★ Special curry udon ¥1000 Of course, we had to end with this. It includes tripe as an ingredient. The broth is flavorful yet light, not as heavy as it looks. It can be easily enjoyed even late at night. Yes, this is a great dish to finish with. I realized I didn't eat any fish or shellfish this time, so I'll make sure to try that next time. ● "Curry Cell" Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CurryCell ● Twitter "Curry Cell": @hm_currycell

This is a slightly stylish izakaya unique to Asakusa, with a menu that includes home-cooked dishes. It's a user-friendly restaurant. I was brought here by a regular customer, and it seems that there are many regulars at the counter.

Now, it is a rare opportunity to smoke inside. I heard that the gentleman I went with is a baby smoker. The place is about a 5-minute walk from Azabu-Juban Station. It's located near M Roman, a clothing store, close to Anajima Park. We had potato salad, simmered vegetables, hairy crab, ham cutlet, grilled swordfish with salt, pickles, and rice. We also enjoyed beer, shochu, and white wine. Everything was delicious. Men especially seem to like this kind of food, right? They offer a wide variety of dishes here. It's a great place to visit with colleagues after work, or even dine alone by ordering half portions. The staff are very attentive and cute, making it a cozy and delicious izakaya in Azabu-Juban. Thank you for the meal.

I'm so tired from work. It's already 10:30 pm and I tried two places but got rejected. I'm hungry and don't want to use Uber at night, so I'm walking around Azabu looking for a place to eat. I found a stylish seafood restaurant called "Ohgai" with a menu that includes prices for some items and two daily recommendations. The alcohol is a bit expensive, around 1000 yen, but there are some for 800 yen so it's not too bad. The food is mostly around 1000 yen, except for hot pot and clay pot rice which are a bit pricier. They served firefly squid with vinegar miso and beltfish with vinegar soy sauce as appetizers, both delicious. A place with karasumi (bottarga) can be trusted. The dishes I tried were old-fashioned ham cutlet, sand liver and garlic deep-fried, fruit tomato with rock salt, pickled butterbur sprout, squid and shiso roll, and curry udon. The pickled butterbur sprout was subtly flavored with plum and was amazing. The unique thing is that the side dishes are displayed in the center of the restaurant and recommended by the staff. There were other dishes that I can't remember the names of, but they were all impressive. Lastly, the curry udon (1200 yen) was recommended and it was delicious, almost as good as Shimada's. The only difference was the softness of the noodles and the spiciness of the curry, with Shimada's having a slightly sweeter taste. I was very satisfied, but when I thought it would cost around 7000 yen, it actually exceeded 10000 yen...

A cozy Japanese restaurant. The seasonal fruit and fried fish with sweet and sour sauce topped with fig was innovative and delicious! The yuzu pepper with coarse grains was delicious, I wish they sold it. The chicken hot pot was very tasty, with the perfect balance of homemade soft cartilage and chewiness. The finishing ramen was also great! ♡
