I felt like eating Banh Mi so I decided to visit this place. The restaurant had a small seating area and was quite cramped. I ordered a single Banh Mi for 1,000 yen, thinking it was a bit pricey. The set comes with potatoes and a drink, which I found unusual for a Vietnamese restaurant. I waited around 10 minutes for my chicken Banh Mi to arrive. When it finally came, I was surprised by how small it was. It was so tiny that I couldn't get full from it. For 1,000 yen, it was disappointing. It tasted good with the eggs in it, but my stomach was still not satisfied afterwards. I don't think I'll be coming back here again.

☑️ Banh Mi Grilled Chicken ¥950 A Vietnamese-style sandwich filled with chicken marinated in lemongrass and fish sauce, eggs, pickled vegetables, cucumber, and cilantro. The bread is toasted, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The flavor is slightly bold.

During a break in my Shibuya stroll, I decided to try this place as I was craving something summer-like on a sunny day. I had the beef pho and banh mi here. The beef pho was a classic style with thinly sliced beef shabu-shabu and aromatic vegetables in a light broth, with finely chopped ginger giving it a distinctive flavor. The soup was light yet flavorful, and the additional order of fried boiled egg as a topping went well with it. The banh mi, featuring lemongrass-flavored pork grilled meat, was a popular choice. The crispy and fragrant French bread paired perfectly with the liver pate, pickled vegetables' acidity, and the savory taste of the pork. I wished there was a bit more cilantro, but overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with delicious flavors.

After a meeting, I was hungry so I went to a Vietnamese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Stream (*・∀・*)ノ I ordered a Banh Mi with grilled pork, minus cilantro, and a set drink (+250 yen). For the drink, I ordered an iced black Vietnamese coffee σ(^_^) It cost 1200 yen and was served in less than 5 minutes. The Banh Mi was crispy and delicious♪ It had pickled carrots and radishes, cucumbers, fried egg, and grilled pork. The crunchy texture of the pickled vegetables was enjoyable♪ The Vietnamese coffee had a whiskey-like aroma and was satisfying even as a black drinkΣb( `・ω・´)グッ It made me feel like I was drinking whiskey even though I wasn't. Some Vietnamese coffee is aged in whiskey barrels to transfer the aroma, and it seems like this shop uses that method. Since I love both coffee and whiskey, it was a perfect matchヾ(o≧∀≦o)ノ゙ I might come back just for the coffee.

*Waiting Time* No waiting on Tuesday at 18:30, arrived at 18:34, finished eating by 18:48. *Order & Price* Ordered the Pork Yakiniku Banh Mi for 900 yen. *Atmosphere* Easy to visit even if you're alone. *Service* Accepts Hachipay. Complimentary water is lemon-infused. Locals were serving customers. *Impressions* Loved the generous amount of cilantro. The pork yakiniku was chewy like jerky, with a delicious sweet and savory flavor. The fried egg was a standout. The bread was warm and crispy, more fluffy than a baguette. It was heavy and filling. The neatly cut carrots were cute, along with cucumber and daikon. *Expectations* It was so delicious that I finished it without realizing. I would love to eat here again.

I stopped by for lunch and first placed my coat on the seat. I noticed a sign that said "Voted the most delicious sandwich in the world." Yes, Banh Mi is no longer a hidden gem, it's a dish that enriches the soul. I stood at the counter for a while contemplating. I decided on a veggie Banh Mi today. It arrived quickly since it was past the peak hours. Other than me, there were only two Vietnamese guys. The set came with potatoes, catering to Japanese culture (I personally would have preferred spring rolls). It's unusual to have cherry tomatoes in it, but they go well. The generous amount of coriander added a sudden exotic touch, making it delicious. The Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, although not served in the usual cup, had a slightly lonely appearance but tasted amazing! It was a big hit. I should have bought the condensed milk Banh Mi as a souvenir, it caught my eye. But if it's this coffee, I might come back again.

Tonight I had some Vietnamese light snacks at this restaurant in Shibuya Stream. While the pho looked delicious, I decided to try the world-renowned Vietnamese sandwich called Banh Mi for the first time. I ordered the "Banh Mi set for 1200 yen including tax", which came with fried potatoes and a drink. I chose the top choice, "grilled pork", for the sandwich. For the drink, I opted for the "Vietnamese coffee with milk", which could be upgraded to a medium size for an additional 50 yen. The Banh Mi was filled with lots of vegetables and had a strong aroma of cilantro, making it quite delicious. It seems like these are typically sold at street stalls in Vietnam. At 900 yen for just the sandwich, it's a bit pricey though. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious even without adding sugar. The potatoes were oily and hard, not quite up to par. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Walking from Shibuya to Ebisu, I often use Hikarie and Scramble Square but rarely go to Mark City or Miyashita Park. I usually walk through buildings to avoid getting sunburned, but while walking on a pedestrian bridge, I found myself inside Shibuya Stream without realizing it. I realized I had only eaten gelato since morning and, despite being a Banh Mi lover, I hadn't had it recently, so I remembered and decided to enter a Banh Mi shop. It seemed to be a shop produced by Nyabet Vietnam, which I love. I ordered the Banh Mi set with potatoes and oolong tea, as I was craving the liver pate. The atmosphere inside the building was open and airy. The tables were low, almost like a child's play set, which was quite inconvenient as they were almost the same height as the chairs. I made a mistake in choosing my seat. While writing this review and looking back at the menu, I finally realized that the Banh Mi with pork barbecue was actually made with thick slices of grilled pork with a sweet sauce. It also had boiled eggs, pickled vegetables, cilantro, and cilantro paste. Although I didn't ask for extra cilantro, I was happy to see a generous amount of it. The liver pate was hidden at the bottom and I only noticed its strong flavor towards the end of the meal. I like the taste, but I wish it had been more evenly distributed. Eating the Banh Mi with lots of vegetables while sitting hunched over at a table the height of my knees was gentle on my stomach. The crispy potatoes, however, were too salty for my liking. I also heard that the Nyabet Vietnam flagship store in Ebisu has finally reopened, so I definitely want to visit there too.

The pork bulgogi banh mi at Banh Mi Star in Shibuya Stream was delicious! It was more filling than it looked. The chili sauce wasn't too spicy, so adding extra made it sweet and savory. The cilantro was mild and just right. Thank you for the meal! #banhmi

Today's lunch was at "Banh Mi Star Shibuya" located near Shibuya Scramble Square on the 2nd floor of Shibuya Stream. Although the pho looked delicious, I was craving for potatoes so I ordered the Banh Mi set. It was my first time trying Banh Mi, so I chose the pork Banh Mi and mango juice as shown in the picture. The Vietnamese sandwich had crispy bread with plenty of vegetables. Carrot and radish pickles and cilantro were generously added, and the pork was delicious with a sweet sauce, not spicy. The egg added a gentle flavor to it. The freshly fried French fries were also very tasty. Most of the menu items seem to be available for takeout. With the increasing number of COVID cases, it's convenient to opt for takeout purchases. I visited for lunch and felt like having Asian cuisine, so I went to a Vietnamese restaurant. Even though it was eat-in, it might be good for takeout too. The portion size was great with lots of ingredients! It might have been a bit too much for a quick lunch break though.

I happened to pass by and decided to have lunch because I love Banh Mi. The open-air restaurant has a counter with 4 seats facing the window, a counter surrounding the pillar, and table seats lined up in front of the store (Shibuya Stream passage). There are descriptions of Vietnamese dishes on the dividers of the counter seats, and I liked that some dividers were not transparent. I ordered the following: Banh Mi Set 1200 yen - Banh Mi 900 yen, choose from 4 types, comes with fried potatoes and a soft drink. I chose grilled pork and guava juice. With a coupon from Tabelog, they upgraded the drink size from S to M. The Banh Mi had plenty of cilantro, which made me happy. The crispy bread was filled with thickly sliced pork, fried egg, pickled carrots and daikon, and cucumber. There were 2-3 slices of meat, but plenty of vegetables for a satisfying portion. The fried potatoes were freshly fried and lightly salted, which was nice. The guava juice seemed to be diluted, as it was a bit weak at the top. It got slightly stronger towards the bottom, but overall it was still on the light side. The staff, all Vietnamese, provided friendly and pleasant service. The Pho looked delicious in the photos, so I would like to try it sometime.

This newly opened shop in August 2021 is called Nha Viet Nam, which means "Vietnam House" in English. Here, you can experience the essence of Vietnam's culture, cuisine, and lifestyle while in Japan. The chefs, who have come from Vietnam, use authentic ingredients to create dishes that stay true to the original flavors taught by three hotel chefs from Hanoi. This Shibuya branch, produced by the main store in Ebisu, specializes in Banh Mi sandwiches and also offers a unique menu item called "Yogurt Coffee," which originated in Hanoi and was featured in "Ravitt." Make sure to try the authentic taste of Banh Mi, which was named the most delicious sandwich in the world by "Fodor's Travel" in 2014. Price: Yogurt Coffee - 680 yen (tax included), Banh Mi (minced pork) - 900 yen (tax included). Business hours: 11:00-22:00 (last order at 21:30). Closed according to Shibuya Stream. Please note that due to COVID-19 measures, operating hours may vary. After visiting the dermatologist, I stopped by a Vietnamese cafe on the 2nd floor of the Stream building. I ordered the plate lunch for 1000 yen, which is labeled as "lunch" but can also be eaten for dinner. The seating area is fully open to the hallway, so it can be a bit cold during this time of year. It seems like a better option for warmer weather. The food was served in about 5 minutes. The soup and pork barbecue were a bit salty. I mixed the salad with the thinly sliced meat to balance out the saltiness. The cha ca (similar to fried fish cake) was delicious and chewy. It was softer and more tender than Japanese versions. The chili sauce was spicy and good. The fried egg was just like a regular fried egg. As I was leaving, a smiling staff member asked me if I enjoyed the food, and I pointed to the menu photo to show which dish I had. He said it was delicious. I will definitely go back when it's warmer.

Had lunch at Shibuya Stream in front of the station♫ As it was close to the end of the year, the city was crowded, so I decided to eat in at this place that seemed to offer takeout. Luckily, there was a window seat available, so I changed to eat in (^ω^ ) The daily special Banh Mi set comes with French fries and a drink. The Banh Mi bread had a crispy texture like a baguette, typical of Banh Mi, and the liver paste had a smooth and mellow flavor that complemented it well. The distribution of ingredients was a bit uneven, so depending on where you bite, it may feel a bit lacking, but it was a tasty and light dish. (*´ω`σ)у Thank you for the meal ===========

In the morning at 500 Shibuya Stream, BANH MI STAR SHIBUYA by Nha Viet Nam is serving pho for a limited time. As someone experienced in visiting ramen shops solo, I always feel nervous when going to a new place. The pho here is refreshing and goes down smoothly. They serve lemon water, which reminds me of the famous ramen shop Hisago in Asakusabashi. I had no interest in the food and beverage establishments at Shibuya Stream at all, but I think the morning pho service is wonderful and I hope it continues beyond the limited time. #EarlyMorningBANHMISTARSHIBUYAbyNhaVietNam Club #RamenFirst #SobaForBreakfast

Category: [Tokyo] Thai and Vietnamese Cuisine ☆ Shibuya Lunch Do you all know about "Banh Mi"? It means bread in Vietnamese, and in 2014, it was selected as the most delicious sandwich in the world by Fodor's Travel in the United States. That Banh Mi is now available at BANHMI STAR SHIBUYA by Nha Viet Nam, a new Vietnamese restaurant that opened today in Shibuya Stream. As a seasoned expert, I have high expectations for Banh Mi. The balance of pickled vegetables, liver pate, margarine, and fish sauce determines 70% of the taste. The remaining 30% depends on identifying each store's unique features, such as adding less filling for a light French bread experience or loading it up with ingredients if you're not expecting a great French bread. Banh Mi is not just a Vietnamese sandwich but a deeply rooted cultural experience. The strategic choice of ingredients can either highlight or diminish a store's distinctive qualities. This time, I chose the Spicy Bun Bo Hue Set with a drink for 1200 yen. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The rich flavor of beef tendon, the balance of satay, fish sauce, and fresh chili, and the quality of the noodles did not disappoint. Despite the slightly higher price for a fast-food type of establishment, the place exudes an authentic Vietnamese vibe. Now, the question arises: will my next visit focus on ordering Banh Mi or will I explore curry or pho first before diving into it? The unveiling of this restaurant's Banh Mi will be a moment to look forward to. Stay tuned for the next chapter, as you may become a witness to a culinary revolution. May the Force be with you.

I went to the preview of Kinky Boots 2022 on the first day. I always felt that Kinky Boots without Haruma Miura as Lola was unthinkable, and I thought I wouldn't be able to see Kinky Boots in Japan anymore. But thanks to the courageous decision of Haruma's friend, Yu Shirota, this day has come. The other cast members also approached this stage with the same feelings. I couldn't miss this stage. With the current situation of COVID-19, I can't feel at ease until I sit down and the music starts. Passing through the 11th-floor sign, I still feel uneasy... The merchandise for this show is really impressive. I want all these cute goods! The sign is no longer a foot insert, probably because it gets crowded. Oh, wait. Surprisingly, you can take photos of the stage during the performance! Before the show starts, everyone is opening their ketchup packets. Yay! It's here! The secret! I'm so happy! The tension is already high before the show even starts. The sound of the smartphone and Don coming out from the wings at the same time. It's finally happening! Don blew away my complex feelings. In the scene where Lola appears, I felt a moment of tears, but Yu Shirota's Lola was so overwhelming that I was captivated, and the tears disappeared! I felt an incredible relief from his presence and singing voice. Of course, it's totally different from Haruma's Lola, but Yu's Lola was done perfectly. I got more and more drawn in, and before I knew it, it was intermission. The excitement of my friends seeing it for the first time is incredible. I'm so happy. There were some changes in the production, maybe due to the tension of the preview's first day, and there were some minor things, but that's fine. It's a stage performance. The audience's energy on this day was amazing, with lots of clapping along with the music. In the last song that everyone loves, some people were dancing in the audience! I joined in dancing wherever I could remember. The entire audience stood up before the curtain call. I've never seen anything like it. A staff member from overseas who was sitting diagonally in front of me looked around three times, clutched his chest, and shook with excitement. It was a night where I witnessed the revival of entertainment. I was so thirsty! Kinky Boots is short, so I was able to have dinner early. I moved to Stream from the second floor. Stream is always empty and highly recommended. I toasted with beer and wine on the terrace at Nha Vietnam. I drank wine like water. I quickly ate the fresh spring rolls and snack set and headed home. The taste was quite authentic to the original country. It was a taste that went well with alcohol! Only three more shows of Kinky Boots to go! Looking forward to it.
