Spending a relaxing long holiday in Tokyo is not a bad idea at all (*´▽`*) There are delicious soba shops and sweet shops working hard, so why not enjoy them? Today, I went for a walk from Rinshi no Mori Park towards Himonya while doing some shopping for lifestyle goods. To reminisce about the old-established soba shop "Asahi-ya" on Meguro Gonnosuke-zaka that sadly closed down, I decided to visit this "Asahi-ya" belonging to the same association. The nearest station is Tokyu Toyoko Line Gakugeidaigaku Station, but it's quite a distance, so taking the Tokyu bus from JR Meguro Station towards Futakotamagawa Station or Todoroki Soshajo Station is convenient. Get off at Himonya Go-chome Koban bus stop. Turn left before Aeon Style Himonya and walk for about 3 minutes until you see the shop on your left. I arrived at the shop around 1:20 PM during the Golden Week holiday, and luckily there were no other customers, so I chose a seat at the front of the entrance where the air was refreshing. The interior of the shop was very clean and stylish. I wanted to start with beer, but when I saw a sake that looked good for hot sake, I couldn't resist (*´▽`*) I paired the hot sake from Hiroshima's "Kamo Tsuru" with the sweet "soba miso" appetizer, and it was a perfect match. The "seasonal vegetable tempura" with coarse salt and Rishiri kelp for pickling was also tempting, so I ordered it. The tempura was skillfully made, with fresh green asparagus, sweet new onions, crispy shiitake mushrooms, fluffy sweet potatoes, and creamy pumpkin. As I enjoyed the tempura, I couldn't help but order a second sake, this time a chilled one from Higashimurayama called "Juyemon." It had a slightly fruity aroma and a smooth sweet finish, which I found charming. The soba noodles were freshly made and had a clean and sharp appearance. The aroma of the soba was noticeable, and the texture was refreshing. The soba-yu had a slightly thick consistency, and when mixed with the flavorful dipping sauce and topped with green onions, it was a delicious way to finish the meal. The owner, who I assume is also the head chef, made a brief appearance as I was leaving, which left a good impression. It turns out she has been running the shop for 15 years. I'll definitely be stopping by for a quick visit in the future! (*´▽`*)
