At Koenji Luna Piena, my favorite Pakistani home-cooked dish is the Chicken Karahi. It's not too spicy despite the chili pepper symbols on the menu. The dish is rich in flavor with bone-in chicken and a hint of ginger. They also offer the limited-time Harim, a mild-spiced stew of beef, Pakistani beans, rice, and oatmeal. Both dishes go well with naan bread. The friendly hostess is open to customizing orders from the grand menu or seasonal specials. I'm curious to try their Biryani next time.

Today, I was busy and decided to have dinner nearby. I was planning to eat curry at Matsuya or Sukiya, but I saw a Pakistani restaurant from a distance and decided to try it. The staff seemed to be comfortable with Japanese. I was originally going to eat curry, but I was intrigued by the Biryani, so I ordered the mutton Biryani. I was prepared for a long wait, but it came out surprisingly fast with a "ching" sound from the kitchen. Well, it's not fried rice, so of course it would be quick. It had a sharp spiciness that stung. However, it was not a simple spiciness, but a good spiciness that I found delicious. The long grains of rice made my mouth feel fluffy. I wished I had a drink or soup to go with it, but I'm short on money, so I'll just wash it down with water. I was a bit worried about the bone-in mutton, but it had no unpleasant smell and was tender. There were also some gelatinous pieces. The spiciness seemed to hit harder after finishing the meal than while eating. This Biryani made my mouth tingle with its spiciness. The green sign, perhaps the colors of the Pakistani flag, looked cool. I would like to try other items on the menu as well.

I had been curious every time I passed by this store. The interior is colorful and cute. The mutton biryani I ordered had fluffy rice and the side of raita had a good balance of acidity and saltiness, making it delicious. Food: Mutton Biryani Bill: 900 yen

Exiting Keikyu Kamata Station and heading towards Kamata, you will come across a Pakistani cuisine restaurant after crossing the Kanpachi Avenue. While many Japanese may lump India, Nepal, and Pakistan together, there are distinct differences between them. I decided to try their Holiday Lunch set priced at 800 yen, which turned out to be meatball curry. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment as the meatballs seemed pre-made and lacked authenticity. I hope to try authentic Pakistani cuisine next time.

Hello. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. July 31st. Today, I feel like I want to eat delicious curry. Some of you might think, "What is this guy talking about? You eat curry every day!" Well, curry is a sensual experience. Even though I eat curry every day, there are times when I really crave a curry that suits my taste perfectly. The restaurant I chose today is "Zaika," a Pakistani cuisine restaurant within walking distance from Keikyu Kamata. First, I performed the ritual. I made it clear to the staff, "I don't like Japanese-style curry! I like Pakistani flavors!" Just by performing this ritual, the chances of success increase significantly. I insisted and begged persistently to make sure I wouldn't be spared. The reply was, "All the flavors in my restaurant are Pakistani." Although this answer left me somewhat uneasy, the ritual was completed. - Dal Mutton - Tandoori Chapati Pakistani dal curry is delicious. The ingredients include bone-in mutton. The meaty mutton blends well with the dal curry. Needle ginger and green chilies add a nice touch. It definitely outshines other curry restaurants in the area. However, personally, I wanted it to be more messy, thoroughly beaten with a thick whip, and dripping wet. In other words, it was what I expected from Pakistani cuisine. It is much tastier than regular curry restaurants. But I wanted to be beaten... In terms of spiciness, it was completely gentle. In other words, it can be said to have a kindness that is easy for everyone to eat. - Falafel This was my first time trying it, but falafel is like a Muslim chickpea croquette. The burnt brown color, like a mature woman's breasts, is strangely alluring. The filling is a vibrant green color. It's green because it's mixed with coriander and edamame, as they mentioned. Not too spicy, with a gentle saltiness. A croquette to enjoy the bean's umami and soft spice with chili sauce. The customers in the restaurant were me, one Japanese couple, and the rest were compatriots. The name "Zaika" means "flavor," so everyone gathers here seeking the taste of their homeland.

Friend: I'm curious about the mutton curry at that place. Friend: I have something to do in the morning, so I'll join you in the afternoon. "What should we do?" "Let's go check it out." "Just in case, let's check the lunch hours, until 2 PM. Last order or closing at 2 PM?" "Let's call and ask!" When we called, a familiar voice said, "If you come in by 2 PM." We raced along the Tama River, past Rokugo Bridge, and took the road we had explored before. We arrived after 1:30 PM, greeted by the same woman with the menu. I asked, "Which curry dish is the most Pakistani?" and ordered the Chicken Karahi with Naan. When asked about drinks, I said, "I'll decide after eating." The curry had bone-in chicken (a lot for the price) and a good mix of vegetables. It was well past 2 PM, so I quickly ordered a lassi for a drink after the meal. I checked the time and realized it was already well past 2 PM, so we hurriedly left the restaurant.

I used to pass by this restaurant and was intrigued by the sign that said "Halal restaurant" and "Pakistani cuisine". At that time, I had already eaten lunch so I didn't go in. Later, when deciding where to go, I remembered the Pakistani cuisine restaurant we had talked about before. We headed towards Kojiya Station along the Tama River and found the restaurant. They had a lunch menu outside, and I was interested in the mutton biryani. Inside, the friendly female staff engaged us in conversation and recommended the fish lunch, which had Thai influences. After discussing with my friend, we decided to share the mutton biryani and fish lunch, and asked for separate plates. The dishes arrived almost simultaneously, and the staff suggested adding yogurt to the biryani to make it less spicy. My friend added yogurt, but I had it as it was. The food had Southeast Asian flavors and was spicy but delicious. The grilled fish came with regular rice, which complemented it well. The biryani rice was made from Pakistani long-grain rice, easily available at this Halal restaurant. As we were eating, we were also served Pakistani-style fried chicken as a complimentary dish. For an additional 100 yen, we got a drink with our lunch, so we enjoyed lassi while eating. The restaurant seemed to take pride in their Pakistani influences, even though the coffee was regular, the chai was made in the Pakistani style. I asked about their curry menu, and they explained that Pakistani curry differs in preparation and taste from Indian curry. I realized that Pakistani cuisine is quite complex and intriguing. Next time I head towards Haneda, I would like to stop by and try a different dish. (The total bill for two people was 2600 yen)

I walked about 20 minutes from Kamata to Zaika in Komagome✨ I had Chicken Tikka, Mutton Biryani, Chicken Karahi, and Gulab Jamun. It might have been my first time trying Pakistani Biryani. I really liked the gravy in the Karahi. I'll definitely order it again next time. The Gulab Jamun was also deliciously sweet and satisfying!

Visited around 2:00 pm on Sunday, with 2 groups of customers inside the store. One person waiting for takeout, no wait for seating. Ordered chicken biryani and raita. Parents arrived about 10 minutes later. The biryani had a fluffy basmati rice texture with plenty of whole spices and lots of bone-in chicken buried inside. It was a bit difficult to eat without using hands, so maybe it would have been better to eat it with hands. The raita had a nice tangy flavor, which was delicious on its own. It would have been nice to order some curry to go with it. The restaurant had a clean atmosphere and the service was good. I would like to visit again if given the chance. Thank you for the meal! ★

This is a Pakistani restaurant near Keikyu Kojiya Station on the Keikyu Airport Line. The restaurant is located along the Kanto Expressway. The exterior is covered with photos of dishes, giving it the appearance of a Chinese restaurant, but the pictures are of biryani, naan, curry, etc., indicating that it is a Pakistani restaurant. The color scheme of white and green reflects the colors of the Pakistani flag. Inside, there are only a few small tables for two, making it a cozy place popular with locals and takeout customers. The lunch menu offers affordable options like chicken curry and dal curry for 700 yen each. The biryani, available with chicken for 700 yen and with mutton for 800 yen, is also reasonably priced. The mutton biryani, though not freshly cooked, is well-prepared with flavorful spices and generous portions of meat. The chicken karahi, a spicy curry with a tomato base and coriander, showcases Pakistani flavors. The dishes come with a choice of naan or rice, with the naan being a recommended accompaniment. The dal chicken, a combination of chicken and lentil curry, offers a unique taste. Additionally, the restaurant serves a limited menu item of oven-baked white fish marinated in spicy paste, which is flavorful and easy to eat.

The other day, I had some bland biryani at another restaurant, so I realized that there are hits and misses with this dish. Well, I guess it's the same with ramen or anything else. The chicken biryani here had a good amount of spices and was quite delicious. The raita was a bit watery, but considering it was only 150 yen, it was acceptable. Surprisingly or maybe not surprisingly, the chicken sticks were very tasty. At 150 yen each, the cost performance was great! They don't serve alcohol, but it makes you crave a beer!

Recently, biryani has become a common food and is no longer considered unusual. However, some people may still confuse it with fried rice. [Order details] Mutton biryani, kulfi (pistachio ice cream). The authentic biryani with basmati rice is delicious, with a strong ginger flavor. The spicy mutton chunks are also tasty. I enjoyed the taste of the authentic dish.

I entered the restaurant during the night hours. Despite the lively exterior, the interior was quiet and orderly. The photos on the wall evoked a nostalgic feeling, reminding me of memories from my time studying abroad. The owner emerged from the back, providing simple yet efficient service. While the Pakistani essence was not strongly felt, it may be a reflection of their long-standing presence in Japan. I ordered the biryani, which had a vibrant saffron color. The flavor was refreshing, with a simple and not overpowering blend of spices. Digging through the mound of basmati rice revealed tender chicken pieces, best enjoyed by cutting them into small pieces and mixing with the rice to savor the duo of spices and chicken. The biryani here stood out for its lightness in oil, subtle seasoning on the chicken, and a yogurt-like raita with a thick consistency. This restaurant is recommended for those who prefer less watery raita. With convenient access from Haneda Airport, it's a great stop for business travelers.

"Mutton Biryani for 1000 yen. There are small size for 700 yen and large size for 1000 yen. For those of you who eat Biryani at local Pakistani restaurants daily, the large size is better. Conveniently located right near Haneda Airport. It's great to be able to get authentic Biryani right after getting off the plane."

I heard that Ota-ku in Tokyo awarded a "recommended gourmet" prize, so I went to a Pakistani home cooking restaurant. I ordered the Mutton Biryani (spicy rice dish with mutton) for 700 yen. I appreciated that they insisted it was a biryani, not just fried rice. My companion ordered the Chicken Curry (curry with bone-in chicken) for 700 yen, which was quite average. If they make some improvements in the presentation of the dishes, it would truly feel like Pakistani home cooking. For now, they just need to keep trying their best. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was a chicken biryani at Zasshoku (as of July 2020). It's located right near the station, with a cute interior featuring lovely tablecloths. I had the Chicken Biryani for 700 yen, plus 100 yen for mango juice. The mango juice was rich and flavorful. First, I had a salad with a tasty orange dressing commonly found in Indian restaurants. They warm the plate before serving the biryani, so it stays hot until the end. The dish included a chicken wing, which was a bit spicy, but the biryani itself was delicious and fluffy.

I had a job in the direction of Kamata. I usually go for gyoza, but this time I decided to try something different. I went to a popular ramen shop called Charamen, but they were unexpectedly closed. Disappointed, I searched for nearby restaurants and found one. I decided to order the biryani for lunch, which was brought in from a nearby kitchen, not made on-site. The restaurant was non-smoking and alcohol-free, fitting its halal status. The biryani had a great aroma of spices and the unique taste and texture of basmati rice. Although the mutton was a bit cold, the overall flavor was quite good. The salad dressing was a bit too heavy on ketchup, but the coffee was decent. I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite the increase in consumption tax to 10%, the prices remained the same as before at 8%. In the end, I paid only 800 yen for the meal. I look forward to trying their regular curry with rice next time.

Two years ago, the MyRebi team was eating biryani everywhere, and I decided to try it for the first time in Tokyo on the outskirts, not in Osaka. It was during my husband's business trip for inspection or audit. It was my first time trying biryani since it became popular, and I found it very easy to eat. I don't remember, but maybe I had it at an Indian restaurant when I was in junior high or high school? The only problem is the portion size. I realized that I couldn't finish it all by myself if I came alone.

After going out, on the way back, my companion and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant near Kojiya Station. Despite being close to the station, the restaurant is located in a less crowded area off the main path. You can spot it by the sign depicting the relationship between the station and "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind." It was dinner time but there were no other customers. This is a halal restaurant, so there is no alcohol served. We ordered the curry set, biryani, and shish kebab. The biryani arrived first, probably because it was prepared quickly. It was a dish we hadn't tried before, but it had a good flavor with the texture of basmati rice. The curry set and shish kebab also arrived. The naan bread was quite large, thin, and crispy. We chose the mildly spicy chicken, but it turned out to have a moderate level of spiciness that made us sweat a bit later on. Both the curry and naan were very delicious. I don't know much about Pakistani cuisine, but there were various options like soup, making it enjoyable for those who like this type of food.
