Savoy Pizza was a pioneer in the field of wood-fired pizzas, and I used to visit their shop in Nakameguro 20 years ago. Since then, they have relocated to Yutenji and Azabu-Juban. I managed to visit the Azabu-Juban shop once, but it was always full or sold out whenever I tried to go for almost 10 years. Last year, they temporarily closed down, and now they have reopened near the station. The new location has three shops sharing an open space, with two shops serving pizza and one serving oven-baked dishes. I headed there without a reservation and found a line of about 15 people already waiting 10 minutes before opening. Most of them had reservations and went to other shops first. Eventually, I managed to get a seat at the counter, which was full with 10 people, and there were two extra seats closer to the oven. The menu remains simple, with classic Margherita, Marinara, Bianca, Ozaki beef pizza, and a special tuna pizza. I ordered the Margherita and a drink, as well as the limited edition tuna pizza. The dough was soft and chewy, and the pizzas were delicious. I would love to visit again if I can get in quickly. The Margherita cost 1650 yen, the tuna pizza cost 3000 yen, and the total bill included a ginger ale and a glass of wine. The pizzas had a nice texture, with a good stretch to the dough and a slightly soft bake. The Margherita was light and tasty, while the tuna pizza was rich with mayo and raw tuna, complemented by wasabi. Overall, the location near Azabu-Juban station, the wood-fired pizzas, and the reasonable prices make Savoy Pizza a highly recommended spot.
