December 2017 dinner use Today we had a drinking party in Roppongi! We searched for a place that is open until morning and found this place (*´꒳`*) [Name of the restaurant] Warayakiya Location: It is located on the way up the Imo-zaka slope from Roppongi intersection. [Interior]: The exterior of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and inside, there is a circular counter and raised seating areas. They are burning straw at the counter, which creates a striking visual impact! We were seated in a raised seating area, but it was very cold ( ´Д`) It is made of glass, so the cold air comes directly, making it feel like we are drinking outside. I couldn't take off my coat while inside. lol [Food & Drinks]: Despite the cold, we started with draft beer! lol - Draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) 590 yen Crisp and delicious (*´꒳`*) Food: - Katsuo Warayaki Sashimi Platter 2750 yen This is the restaurant's signature dish. They prepare it by burning straw after the order is placed, so it's also fun to watch! You can feel the aroma of the straw! This is delicious (*´꒳`*) - Hachikin Jidori Chicken Thigh Meat 1390 yen This is also cooked using straw! The flavor of the Jidori chicken and the aroma of the straw make it delicious. Maybe everything tastes better when cooked with straw. lol We ordered a few more dishes, and all of them were delicious and well-prepared! We also tried the Warayaki Buntan Sour 790 yen, which is made with a citrus fruit called Buntan that is famous in Kochi. It has a refreshing taste with Buntan sherbet, and it was delicious (*´꒳`*) The food and drinks were delicious, but we couldn't bear the cold, so we left after about an hour. The straw-grilled dish was delicious, except for the fish. It had a nice aroma of straw and was very tasty. Recommended dishes include: 1) Grilled eel, 2) Black Wagyu sirloin, 3) Deep-fried sandfish, 4) Hachikin local chicken thigh with garlic soy sauce. Recommended sake: "Junmai Ginjo nama genshu CEL-24" - a sake that is easy for beginners to drink.

I couldn't get in last time because it was fully booked, so I made a reservation for a rematch. I'm not a big fan of bonito, but the bonito here can be eaten like meat. The grilled conger eel has no strong taste and is easy to eat. The tempura of green vegetables also has a new deliciousness, and I ended up drinking the slightly sparkling yuzu sake in big gulps. Considering the location in Roppongi, I think it's a cost-effective restaurant.

Exquisite bonito straw-grilled! No soy sauce or sauce, just salt, wasabi, garlic, green onions, and myoga on top. When you bite into it, the aroma of the straw grilling comes out through your nose. And the perfect thickness of the slices. It's wonderful. The menu is not very extensive. It's above average, but I didn't find anything else that I really wanted to eat. The deep-fried young sardines were delicious though. So, I quickly finished the bonito and moved on to the next dish.

I had a dinner party with a colleague who returned to Japan from overseas. I made a reservation at a chain restaurant called "Warayakiya" that serves bonito and Kochi cuisine because I thought Japanese food would be better. We ordered a variety of dishes, but I forgot to take photos of everything except for the recommended dish, the salt-seared bonito. It was incredibly delicious. The other dishes were also tasty, and the prices were reasonable, so I would definitely go back again. Thank you for the meal, I'll be back again!

Arrived around 8:30 pm on a weekday. The restaurant was almost full despite it being a weekday. Since there were two of us, we were seated at the counter. We planned to have some drinks and snacks, so we ordered the recommended bonito. It was satisfying to see the straw-grilled bonito being prepared right in front of us. Of course, it tasted delicious! The drinks were a bit slow to arrive probably due to the crowd, so we had two drinks and then left. Thank you for the meal!

I originally liked bonito tataki, but I found that it tastes even better when it's grilled over straw. I had only tried it a few times before, but recently I found out that it's being offered at chain restaurants. I really welcome this kind of expansion. It's actually delicious. I enjoy it with just salt, without dipping it in soy sauce. It's also entertaining to watch them grilling it right in front of you, although it can get hot depending on the location. The staff must be working hard grilling it over straw right in front of the customers.

I was impressed by the powerful straw-grilled dishes I saw at the counter seats. The straw-grilled tataki and local chicken were fragrant, fresh, and very delicious. I also ordered shochu with water and soda, both of which paired well with the food and were very tasty.

Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Roppongi Station is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3, and there is an izakaya called "Warayakiya Roppongi" located there. It is one of the brands developed by the DD Group, with 6 stores in Tokyo alone. The main feature of this place is that they use a large amount of straw to grill bonito and other items in a spectacular way! You must try their specialties, such as bonito warayaki salt tataki, beef tartare with garlic chives sauce, and a platter of Kochi-style oden. When you order, you will be surprised to see the bonito warayaki salt tataki first. The thickly sliced bonito has a nice aroma from the straw and is very tender and delicious! They even perform a little show for you, so it's fun to take pictures. Just this dish alone is quite filling, so even though there were many other dishes I wanted to try, I couldn't get to them all. I will definitely go back again!

Kochi Katsuo is the main dish at this restaurant on a busy street. When I looked at the menu, I was surprised to see that they had Cutlassfish! Even though it was only 5:00 pm and there was only one other customer, I was told they were fully booked with reservations. I decided to leave in an hour, and suddenly they had a table available for me. I started with the recommended Katsuo straw-grilled dish and the Cutlassfish tempura, both were delicious. I was craving something sweet and ordered the sweet potato chips, which were amazing. Finally, I had the Millet Biscuit Ice Cream for dessert, which was a perfect ending to the meal. I highly recommend making a reservation before going to this restaurant.

The familiar straw-grilled restaurant. There are stores in various locations, and I have been to different stores, but the Roppongi store is the most popular with foreigners. This is because the flame of the straw-grilled can be easily seen by customers, and the performance is impressive. The sweet and savory fried burdock that I always eat is exquisite.

The atmosphere inside the shop is amazing! I recommend sitting at the counter where you can see the straw-grilled dishes being prepared right in front of you. The thick and flavorful bonito was really delicious! Just be careful of the smoke, it can be quite strong! The prices are reasonable and the cost performance is good!

I thought I randomly booked a place on Tabelog that had availability, but it turned out to be a great find! The straw-grilled fish was delicious, the staff were friendly, and it was affordable! Even though there were many people eating and drinking, the cost was around 6000 yen per person, which was fantastic. The straw-grilled bonito is a must-try! They grill it right in front of you, which adds to the experience. The restaurant was also clean and highly recommended!

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 8:00 PM with a same-day reservation. The place was bustling and almost full. The bonito salt tataki was delicious, completely different from what you can buy at a supermarket. I had a highball, and the variety of flavors was great.

The group playing games and drinking heavily during the year-end party season was annoying. I wish they would do that in a student district or in a private room. The food is decent for the price, and it's sufficient for going with friends. The seaweed tempura was too greasy and made my stomach upset. The straw-grilled bonito sashimi could be smokier. The whale meat lacked its original flavor and texture, which was disappointing. The staff's service was excellent, and I would like to go back to this restaurant.

Since coming here due to a job transfer, I went out for drinks in Roppongi with my coworkers for the first time. I didn't have high expectations for the food, but it turned out to be really delicious. They had dishes like seared bonito, grilled beef, and eel sushi, all of which were satisfying in both taste and portion. The all-you-can-drink option for 6,000 yen per person was a good deal. When I want to eat bonito in Tokyo, I usually go to Warayakiya, which serves Kochi cuisine. I love Kochi, but it's not easy to visit often, so I go to the Akasaka branch. This time, I went to the Roppongi branch. Despite being a chain restaurant, the bonito here is really delicious! Thick and juicy! I will definitely go again!

We went to this place for the second round of our meetup. The thick bonito tataki was a traditional dish grilled on straw. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy Kochi cuisine and sake! I went there after work. We had a table seat, but they cook right in front of you so it would be fun to sit at the counter and watch. As for the food... in conclusion, everything was delicious. The popular dishes were beef tongue and bonito sashimi, so we ordered those. The bonito sashimi was served with salt, wasabi, and green onions, and it was delicious just on its own, letting the flavor of the ingredients shine. The beef tongue, along with the accompanying onions, was also very tasty. The sake was also excellent!
