Have you ever eaten kangaroo meat? That's the kind of story that led me to try this place this time. In terms of stations, it's located between Shibuya and Omotesando, just a short distance from Aoyama Gakuin. It's a bit far from either station, so it can be considered a calm location. Going down to the underground, opening the door, and wow! A cave? A cavern? A cellar? The lighting is a bit dim and creates a moody atmosphere. The private rooms are the type where you take off your shoes before entering, so be careful with your socks ( ´艸`) haha. The private rooms are nice too - maybe it's because of the indirect lighting, but the photos come out beautifully, and it's quite relaxing. This time we opted for a course with all-you-can-drink. We started with a toast with sparkling wine ☆ The etiquette is cute and the wine is delicious. Some shelled macadamia nuts are placed on the table as a sort of appetizer. It's exciting to crack them open for the first time! It's satisfying when they crack cleanly... it's fun, so you feel like you want more (laughs). (There is also a macadamia nut cracker available for purchase along with the nuts). The appetizer assortment includes garlic sautéed domestic chicken hearts, seared swordfish, and Kanazawa's Hiramasa carpaccio. I thought they would focus on Australian or New Zealand meat and wine, but I was surprised to see domestic meat and fish, especially ones directly from Kanazawa. The chicken hearts have a firm texture and great seasoning. The fritters are made with a fish called Hoki from New Zealand. It's spicy and pairs well with alcohol! We then switched to white wine ☆ There are two types of red and white wines available, and we started with Riesling. It's also from the same winery as the previous wine, so for a moment, I was about to say, "It's the same as before!" (laughs) Both are delicious. I'm a wine beginner, so I prefer wines like those from Australia rather than heavy or oaky ones. Next is the Australia spice and Awaji onion salad. We also ordered a Chardonnay. The etiquette for this one is cool! The salad is dressed with Australia's Dukkah spice and Awaji onion. We switched to red wine for the cheese risotto. It's strange to have rice in the middle of the course rather than as the finale! The wine is also red this time. Next up is the skewers with kangaroo and crocodile! It was my first time trying them! The kangaroo tastes like lamb... but not as gamey, making it easy to eat. The crocodile is almost indistinguishable from chicken meat! It's light and pairs well with the spicy spices. The other main dish is roasted lamb leg. When I tried kangaroo, I thought it tasted like lamb, but trying lamb now, I realize they're different! The lamb has a wild taste, making you feel like you're eating meat! We switched to red wine for this one. When we entered the restaurant, it was early and there was only one other group besides us, but before we knew it, it was full! We were talking about how amazing it was because of the pandemic and the fact that the location isn't that great. The atmosphere is great, the food is interesting, and the fact that the wine in the all-you-can-drink menu is good is a plus. And of course, the staff is amazing! Not just because they're handsome, but because they're knowledgeable about wine, Australian cuisine, spices, etc., and they explain everything in detail, which is great. If they're just part-timers, then they must be really dedicated to their job. The clientele consists of stylish middle-aged men, couples, colleagues, etc. It's a perfect place to enjoy a casual meal and drinks with close friends, colleagues, or loved ones.

Boss made a reservation for us at this restaurant, and it was our first visit. I arrived before my boss and was shown to a table at the back with four seats. The restaurant was very popular, almost full by 7:30 pm. My boss arrived shortly after, and we started with some wine. We began with sparkling wine to wet our throats, followed by red wine. The restaurant had a good selection of Australian wines, so we chose based on the server's recommendation. The wine was great, with depth and a refreshing heaviness. We started with macadamia nuts as an amuse-bouche, followed by a carpaccio with fish and ham. Everything was delicious. We also enjoyed a salad with homemade burdock chips and vinaigrette dressing. For the main course, we had chicken, pork, and beef, all of which were tasty. It was a delightful and reasonably priced French dining experience.

I am currently scouting for a restaurant to have a girls' party. There is a small raised tatami area that can fit about 4 people, as well as regular table seats. Since our group is around 10 people, we would pretty much take up all the space and might inconvenience other customers. I think I'll come back when we have a smaller group. It's about the same distance to walk from Omotesando or Shibuya. We ordered some prosciutto and snacks, and got some Heartland draft beer. We also got some nuts to crack.

Visited the restaurant with two colleagues. It was my colleague's favorite place and our first time there. We had trouble finding the entrance and ended up entering from the back of the building via an elevator following Google Maps. We were pleasantly surprised to find a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option with unlimited sparkling wine. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We were impressed. We will definitely visit again. One cool thing was that they served carbonated water instead of regular water. The clientele seemed to be mostly young women, so it seems to be a popular spot among women as well.

I had a course with all-you-can-drink option. The assorted appetizers included two types of carpaccio, fish fry, prosciutto, and carrot rapé. The freshness of the carpaccio was not the best, but the sauce was delicious, so overall it was tasty. The salad with taro chips and cheese risotto were served as well. The risotto was simple and not too rich, making it easy to eat. It was more like a snack than a meal as it was served in the first half. Chicken confit, steak, and then meat followed. Both were tender and delicious. I also tried alligator as an extra. It had a strong texture, similar to celery. For dessert, there was chocolate cake and pudding. The all-you-can-drink wine was also good, and I think it was a good value for the money. Thank you for the meal!

There is a restaurant in Shibuya that offers crocodile and kangaroo meat. I remember trying crocodile meat (along with ostrich meat) in Cape Town and kangaroo meat in London a while ago. I don't remember the taste specifically, but I recall finishing the meal without any issues. I arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was about 30% full. Despite the end of the state of emergency, it seems that the number of customers has not fully returned to normal. I made a reservation through One Night with the OZ course (with free flow). The free flow included Australian sparkling wine, two types of red and white wines (Cabernet and Shiraz for red, Chardonnay and Riesling for white), as well as cocktails. The free flow was decent. The crocodile and kangaroo meat, imported from Australia, were prepared to bring out their unique flavors. Crocodile meat is said to taste similar to chicken but has its own distinct texture and a bit of fat. Kangaroo meat, while not very juicy, was delicious. The contrast of the tender and juicy lamb after the crocodile and kangaroo meat was also noteworthy. This time I dined solo, but next time I would like to try the crocodile legs with a companion.

I went to ZUGANZU Shibuya with a former subordinate for a drink after a long time. This restaurant specializes in Austrian and New Zealand wines and cuisine, offering dishes like crocodile and kangaroo meat. The ambiance has a safari park feel to it, and the interior is nicely decorated. We ordered dishes like mackerel carpaccio, garlic sautéed chicken hearts, cheese risotto, shrimp tempura, beef tagliata, and lamb bolognese, along with two glasses of wine each. The chicken hearts were particularly delicious. Overall, the Austrian wines and cuisine were surprisingly tasty. I recommend the all-you-can-drink course with wine included for those who enjoy drinking. The restaurant is within walking distance from Shibuya Station and is worth a visit.

Specializing in Australian and New Zealand wines, this shop also offers unique ingredients like crocodile and kangaroo. I visited the Shibuya store to try kangaroo, as I regretted not trying it at the Kagurazaka store (lol). I started with a sparkling red wine from Australia, which I found very easy to drink and to my liking. First, I had the salted bagna cauda made with sun-dried salt from Suzu, Ishikawa Prefecture, with a sauce that includes turnip puree. Then, the main attraction - kangaroo skewers. It had a slight gamey taste but wasn't overpowering. I also tried the crocodile skewers, which had a great texture. They say crocodile meat is high in protein and low in fat, making it perfect for diets. They even have a menu item called "crocodile legs" that seems to come with the actual legs on the plate! I was curious, but decided to pass on it this time (lol). I also tried a Kiwi wine from New Zealand, made not from grapes but from kiwi fruit, which was fruity and easy to drink. Now, shall we go to the next place for some pudding as a dessert? ========== - Salted Bagna Cauda with Suzu, Ishikawa sun-dried salt (S 980 yen) - Australian kangaroo skewers (2p 900 yen) - Australian crocodile skewers (2p 900 yen) - Red sparkling wine (730 yen) - White sparkling wine (640 yen) - Kiwi wine (850 yen) - MacHenry Hohen Rocky Road - Service charge (500 yen) * Prices do not include tax

@zoogunzoo #Zoogunzoo I went to pray for handsome men with my friend, the facial comedian @akanemameakane. - I've been into #cost-effective gourmet lately, and even tried some Oceania cuisine that I don't have much experience with. The atmosphere is casual but nice, and the location in the middle of Shibuya and Omotesando's dining district is great. - The Macadamia nuts they served were fun to peel. - The handsome, nice-voiced manager is so kind and teaches you a lot. - Eating crocodile skewers and kangaroo meat makes your heart race. - Maybe there's a bridge effect? I don't know, haha. - The cute etiquette wine is delicious. - Perfect for a date. - *The atmosphere is nice, *Could it be that I'm being flirted with? *Result: *The handsome manager was the target *Just confirming my usual gourmet reservations *I'm just an old man, not affected by the bridge effect. - All-you-can-drink included for 5000 yen. It was quite crowded, so making a reservation might be a good idea. - I will post delicious items. Follow @aoyan_food. - Check out my stories for more information and updates. - Likes and comments make me very happy. Feel free to do so. - #OmotesandoGourmet #ShibuyaGourmet #TokyoRestaurant #TokyoGourmet #Tabelog #ConnectWithFoodies #TokyoFood #JapaneseFoodie #TokyoGourmet #InstagramGourmetAward2020

✨Today, let me introduce you to this place✨👫👭【Shibuya Edition】Zugans Shibuya Store 03-3400-1496 2-9-11 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Aoyama City Building B1 A 8-minute walk from Shibuya Station✨Located in Shibuya, this is a restaurant specializing in Australian and New Zealand wines and cuisine✨Ranked 4th in the Shibuya area on the One Michelin Star restaurant review site. Downstairs, there is a counter and private rooms, creating an adult space. A hidden gem in Shibuya. On the tables, there are macadamia nuts in shells, which you can crack open with a special tool to enjoy the natural sweetness without any seasoning. The menu includes not only lamb but also crocodile and kangaroo meat. At first, I was hesitant about trying crocodile and kangaroo meat, but contrary to my expectations, they were delicious. The kangaroo meat was like harami skewers, crispy and juicy. The crocodile meat, although firm, was surprisingly tasty. The fish is sourced from Fukusui, a lively fish market in Kanazawa that has been in business for a long time, so you can expect quality seafood at this restaurant. Fresh oysters from Sakoshi, Hyogo Prefecture, were also available on this day✨And most importantly, we were served an appetizer made with fresh mozzarella cheese specifically prepared for that day! The cheese was freshly made that day, bursting with flavor and moisture. It was sourced from MOMO MOZZARELLA in Omotesando and Jingu-mae and served with a fresh tomato caprese. The owner was very friendly and created a comfortable atmosphere. For those who love meat or seafood, be sure to visit Zugans Shibuya Store❗️Indulge in the delicious and enticing meats that are still rare in Japan❗️They are waiting for you to enjoy them.

I visited this restaurant, ZUGANZU, to enjoy a bottle of wine left over after visiting a BYO shop. The atmosphere of descending into the underground cave was fun. The entrance of the shop was lined with Aussie wines. The young staff member was lively and honest, making the experience enjoyable. We started with shelled macadamia nuts as a complimentary snack. They were cracked open with a nutcracker that looked like a medieval torture device, but they were plain in taste. We had already consumed more than one bottle each, but we decided to open the leftover French wine. The corkage fee was 2,000 yen per bottle. The staff member joked that she was nervous because we had been opening only Aussie screw cap wines. The glasses were Riedel, and they even had Burgundy glasses! Amazing! Since it was an Aussie restaurant, we started with Fish and Chips OZ style for 980 yen. We poured vinegar generously and ate it. The portion was better at a nearby place, but the taste was average. We also tried the OZ Kangaroo Steak with fig and red wine sauce for 1,890 yen, recommended by the staff member. The kangaroo meat was similar to deer meat in taste and texture, deep and quite enjoyable. When I asked the staff member for a wine recommendation from the restaurant's selection, she suggested the D'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz 2016, a Shiraz with a rich Aussie taste. We shared a glass, toasting with the wine. Finally, we had a cheese platter for 1,790 yen, which included my favorite blue cheese, making me very satisfied. The total bill for three of us was a little over 20,000 yen.

I visited for the first time at a gathering. The entrance on the basement floor is a bit hard to find. Upon entering the restaurant, I found well-arranged tables and proceeded towards the back. There are private rooms, but they seem to be in high demand. I started with Riesling and oysters while waiting for my friends to arrive. I was surprised by the robust taste of the Riesling from the Southern Hemisphere. I enjoyed fried gas shrimp as a snack, followed by Sayori and Soi carpaccio, and a Bagna Cauda with Suzu salt, all while sipping white wine. Just when I wanted red wine, I ordered the Wild Plate. It included skewers of crocodile and kangaroo meat. The crocodile had a mild taste and texture, while the kangaroo was lean red meat with no strong odor. Both were refreshing with a salty taste, which was delightful. The red wine made with Pinot Noir from the Southern Hemisphere paired very well. Along with a sparkling red wine labeled like a rabbit but actually made with kangaroo, I enjoyed Caprese, hearts, and a pizza with curry sauce for the finish. I thought it was over, but then I ended up having cheesecake for dessert. The Wild Plate is sure to liven up any gathering!

Dinner course with all-you-can-drink for 5,000 yen. They also serve crocodile and kangaroo meat, but we decided to play it safe and went with the Aussie beef course since we visited with family. Delicious and reasonably priced. I don't understand why the restaurant has a low rating on Tabelog. Will definitely come back again.

When I went to the restaurant, I couldn't find the entrance at first. The shop is located underground, and the staircase to go down is slightly set back inside the building. I ordered a course with a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option. From salad to meat to risotto, everything was delicious, so I was very satisfied. The red wines for all-you-can-drink were Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and I found the Shiraz to be particularly delicious. There was also Chardonnay and another white wine available for all-you-can-drink, as well as sparkling wine, highball, cocktails, and draft beer. The restroom is unisex and located near the entrance. Overall, it was a restaurant that I would like to visit again.

About 10 minutes from Shibuya Station, at the basement of a building near Aoyama-dori from Miyamasuzaka. This restaurant offers Australian beef and wine. I met with two old friends whom I hadn't seen in 1-3 years due to the pandemic. We reserved a course with drinks. The amuse-bouche was macadamia nuts that we had to crack ourselves, which was a bit of a hassle but made for good conversation. The appetizers included sashimi, fish fritters, prosciutto, and chicken hearts. Followed by a green salad and cheese risotto, the mains were chicken confit and Australian beef taliata. We started with sparkling wine and then had Riesling and Shiraz. We toasted to each other's health with delicious drinks.

From Shibuya Station, go up the hill towards Aoyama Gakuin and you'll find it along Route 246, so the location is easy to find, but the entrance is easy to miss. Besides Australian cuisine, they also have fish from Kanazawa, so you can enjoy a variety of dishes in a beautiful and nice atmosphere. The lamb chops and kangaroo steak are delicious! The fish and chips tasted just like the ones I had at Bondi Beach. I really liked the watercress and mushroom salad. They also serve crocodile meat, which wasn't really to my taste, but it was the mildest crocodile meat I've had so far, so I think that's how crocodile meat should taste. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is cozy, so I don't think the turnover is very high, it might be better to make a reservation before going.

It's "ZOOGUNZOO" in Shibuya, which is very close to my workplace! It's less than a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. It's one of the restaurants I often go to, especially when I'm in the mood for wine! I usually order the salted bagna cauda, cheese platter, and roasted lamb chops with red sparkling wine. They all go perfectly well with red wine, but the salted bagna cauda here is just delicious! The sauce is tasty, and the vegetables are amazing. I always end up eating the bagna cauda quickly here. Whenever I want bagna cauda that goes well with wine, I come to ZOOGUNZOO!
