Japanese cuisine restaurant "Ami Chofu PARCO Store" in Chofu City, Tokyo. Located on the 7th floor of Chofu PARCO, this restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes such as kaiseki, bento, and set meals featuring tempura and eel. I visited this place for the first time in about 6 years since October 10, 2016. Despite the turnover on the restaurant floor, this establishment has been a longstanding presence. Today, with the unstable weather due to the approach of Typhoon No. 8, I decided to visit PARCO, which allows direct access from the indoor parking lot to the restaurant floor. The clean and modern Japanese-style interior features tables in the front, a tempura counter in the back, and a semi-private raised tatami area further to the right. The menu includes set meals, bento boxes, tempura set meals, tempura rice bowls, eel rice bowls, tempura on its own, daily recommendations, and course meals ranging from 3,700 to 8,400 yen. For today's lunch, I ordered the following: Colorful Bento (1,780 yen) and Anago Tempura Rice Bowl (1,700 yen). The Anago Tempura Rice Bowl came with two large pieces of eel and four types of vegetables, making for a generously portioned dish. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The Colorful Bento included sashimi, tempura, grilled dish, simmered dish, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), and a sweet dessert. The sashimi was tuna, the simmered dish was kinpira gobou (burdock root), and the grilled dish was Spanish mackerel. The tempura consisted of shrimp and eggplant, among other vegetables. The dessert was a cold shiratama zenzai (sweet red bean soup with rice cakes). Both dishes were quite delicious and offered ample portions. The rice was cooked to perfection. While this restaurant may be on the pricier side for everyday dining, it is suitable for business meals and offers a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. The service has improved since my last visit, with better handling of delays in food preparation and overall good customer service. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
