Got a craving for the new "EBI Mazesoba" at Gotanda Tsukemen GAKU. Haven't been here in a while and this new mazesoba is a heavenly treat in this unrelenting heat. Mixed it all up with the garlic, finished it in seconds. Accidentally forgot my wallet and had to come back again. I found a ramen shop called Gonojin Seisakusho near Sain in Gotanda station, when I was looking for a delicious restaurant in Gotanda. I ordered the shrimp tsukemen for 950 yen and a mini rice for 100 yen. It arrived after about 12-13 minutes. The bowl was very hot and the dipping sauce was also very hot. The noodles had a good chewiness and were delicious. The dipping sauce had a strong shrimp aroma, which was the taste I was looking for. It went well with the rice. The menma was large, and there were also cabbage and dried shrimp in it. Finally, I added the soup to make a soup and finished it.

I visited around noon on a regular day and there was a slight line. I ordered the EBI Tomato Tsukemen (ladies size). The ladies size comes with less noodles but you can add an extra topping. The noodles were thick with a firm texture and a strong noodle flavor. The dipping sauce was packed with the taste of shrimp, with the tomato flavor taking a back seat. Other toppings included basil and cheese for an Italian touch, thick and juicy chashu, thick menma, fragrant sakura shrimp, refreshing arugula, and roasted cherry tomatoes. The dish was delicious.

I visited a new workplace and had a chance to try their noodles in dipping broth. The moment I slurped the noodles dipped in the broth, an incredibly rich shrimp aroma burst through! The dipping broth was quite thick and coated the noodles well, making it very delicious! The cabbage topping surprisingly complemented the broth well and added to the overall deliciousness!

"EBI Tomato Tsukemen for 1150 yen" ■ 224th visit in 2023 ■ (First visit) ◇ time: 19 minutes until served / Weekday 12:39 / No waiting in line ◇ topics ★ Inspired by Gonojin Seimenjo? Shrimp tsukemen is the specialty ★ Basic menu includes shrimp tsukemen, shrimp tomato tsukemen, miso, and mixed noodles ★ Warm and friendly service despite the intimidating appearance ★ today's ★ The noodles are thick noodles from Asakusa Kaikaro, medium thickness and standard firmness, but delicious ★ The portion of noodles is regular size at 250g with plenty of toppings, so satisfying ★ The combination of basil and shrimp tomato is excellent with dried shrimp as an accent ★ Luxurious ingredients such as lemon, tomato, zaru menma, baby leaf, etc. ★ The chashu is also large and delicious Personally, I prefer the tomato shrimp tsukemen over the shrimp tsukemen. Thank you for the delicious meal!!!!

I had the shrimp mixed noodles at Tsukemen GAKU in Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. You can enjoy a combination of rich shrimp extract and dried sakura shrimp. I have been keeping an eye on this place since it opened, and I feel like its reputation has been gradually increasing.

The shrimp dipping noodles are delicious and among the top tier in terms of shrimp dipping noodles. However, compared to the best shrimp dipping noodles I've had, there are some downsides. The fact that you have to pay extra for additional soup is a negative point, and the lack of creativity in the soup splitting is disappointing. But overall, it is a tasty shrimp dipping noodles with good portion size.

This restaurant is a specialty shop for shrimp tsukemen located near Menya Saion in Gotanda Station. When it comes to shrimp-flavored tsukemen shops, Shinjuku's Gonojin Seisakusho is famous, and this shop can be considered somewhat inspired by Gonojin. I didn't have a good impression when I went to the original Gonojin recently, but how about the inspired version? The menu is divided into EBI tsukemen, EBI ramen, EBI tomato tsukemen, and EBI maze soba. Just like Gonojin, they also have shrimp tomato. Since I wasn't impressed with the shrimp tsukemen at the original shop, I ordered the EBI tomato tsukemen (1,150 yen) to try. The noodles are straight thick noodles made from whole wheat flour by Asakusa Kaikaro. The soup is a rich seafood soup made from shrimp broth, with mozzarella cheese sinking in it. The toppings include chashu, menma, basil sauce, cherry tomatoes, baby leaf, small shrimp, and lemon. I took a pinch of noodles and dipped it in the broth to try. Hmm, it's definitely a shrimp and tomato-flavored dipping sauce. I took another pinch of noodles and put it in the broth and brought it to my mouth... What's this, it's delicious! Something about the tomato and something else made it really tasty. What's this taste... Oh, it's the basil. The compatibility between tomato and basil is a classic, and I fully understood that, so I decided to always bring it to my mouth with the basil sauce. The thick menma was tough and sinewy, and above all, it didn't go well with the Italian-like soup. To be honest, maybe the menma isn't necessary. The chashu, while not as bad as the menma, had a subtle compatibility with the soup. On the other hand, the baby leaf and cherry tomatoes matched perfectly with the soup. The soup base is made by adding shrimp broth to kombu dashi and mackerel dashi. Gonojin's soup base was good, but how about this shop's... It's not actively bad, but it's not delicious either. Perhaps the shrimp flavor and the soup base don't go well together. Despite that, I found it quite delicious and finished it. The combination of tomato and basil is definitely a winner. However, I can't help but feel that the shrimp flavor got overshadowed. Gonojin's shrimp tomato tsukemen might be delicious too. Thank you for the meal.

[First Visit on 2023.05.26] Today I came to the office for a health check-up and then went to the clinic! For lunch, I visited "Tsukemen GAKU" in Nishi-Gotanda, following my visit two days ago. I had bookmarked this place when it first opened, but it's been over two years since then haha. It's conveniently located near "Sain" which I visited recently. As of 05/26, the building is under construction. Upon arrival before 2 pm, there were 3 customers already there and 2 came in after me. The menu lineup prominently featured shrimp, which reminded me of the shrimp-inspired tsukemen from "Gonokami Seisakusho." I decided to try the standard "EBI Tsukemen." I ordered a regular portion at the counter. There were wooden boxes from Asakusa Kaika-rou stacked in the kitchen. After a wait of about 17-18 minutes, I received the dipping sauce bowl followed by the noodle bowl. The dipping sauce bowl was extremely hot, and the staff kindly placed it on the counter for me. Thank you! Noodles: Straight medium-thick noodles that seemed to be made of whole wheat. The noodles were firm and had a chewy texture with a good bite, despite having some moisture. The wheat flavor was quite prominent. Dipping sauce: The piping hot dipping sauce had a bitter taste with a strong umami flavor from the animal-based broth and shrimp. The bitterness lingered in the aftertaste, possibly due to the shrimp. It was quite a heavy dipping sauce, so it might be a hit or miss depending on personal preference. Toppings: Large slices of chashu, cabbage, sakura shrimp, thickly cut menma (very thick!), and square-cut nori. The chashu was tender with a light texture and just the right amount of fat. The cabbage added a refreshing touch when wrapped around the noodles. The thick menma was milder in flavor than it appeared, soft, and served as a nice palate cleanser. Overall, the dish was quite filling with a good balance of flavors. The neatly arranged presentation contrasted with the rough and chewy noodles, and the heavy, bold broth, leaving a somewhat unrefined impression. Perhaps the EBI Tomato Tsukemen is more popular here? I might try that next time. That's it for now, thanks for the meal!

I want to try the EBI ramen that I haven't challenged yet, but with the warm weather, I was drawn to maze soba. Mixing sakura shrimp and burnt shrimp with rich soup and egg yolk, then mixing it with the medium-thick noodles at Kaikarou. Let's eat! The completion level is high, well-balanced, and overflowing with the umami of shrimp. It's mild, so I added pepper for a flavor change in the second half. It was delicious. I was satisfied.

Blog "Tokyu Line, Food Walk" https://asante.blog/ - I visited casually on a weekday night. It is located on the west side of Gotanda Station, towards the end of an area with many interesting shops. When you enter the store, there are around 20 seats at the counter. It was around 6:30 pm, and there was one customer before me and one after me. As soon as you enter, you order at the ticket machine on the right. They had various variations based on EBI such as EBI Tsukemen for 950 yen, EBI Ramen for 950 yen, EBI Tomato Tsukemen for 1150 yen, EBI Mazesoba for 900 yen, but on that day, I ordered the most basic one, EBI Tsukemen for 950 yen. You serve yourself water at the water dispenser next to the ticket machine. It took a while for the Tsukemen to arrive. The noodles were thick, so it must have taken time to cook. First, the piping hot dipping sauce arrived. It was so hot that the staff walked around the counter to bring it to me. After that, the Tsukemen arrived, looking quite impressive. Next to the thick noodles were large menma, sakura shrimp, ham-like chashu, boiled cabbage, and a large sheet of seaweed. There were tiny grains visible in the noodles, maybe shrimp was kneaded into them... I couldn't quite identify the taste. I started by dipping the noodles into the sauce and the rich shrimp flavor filled my mouth. I think this is a taste that everyone would enjoy. The light ingredients balanced well with this shrimp dipping sauce, and the cabbage also complemented it nicely. The ham-like chashu was also light in flavor. I'm not sure if it's better this thin, but I enjoyed it. As I ate more, even with a regular portion, I was completely full. There was plenty of dipping sauce, so I savored the shrimp flavor to the fullest at the end. I think this Tsukemen is delicious for both shrimp lovers and those who are not. Thank you for the meal.

Tsukemen GAKU at Gotanda Station and Tsukemen kobeenishi and Unrinbo have been on my radar for a while. I tried the Ajitama Ebi Tsukemen at GAKU. The shrimp and crab-based tsukemen broth is incredibly rich in flavor, but delicious. You can customize the taste halfway through by adding pepper and shichimi using the provided pepper mill. The dashi broth is also drinkable, making it highly recommended. #TsukemenGAKU #GotandaLunch #GotandaGourmet

This is a ramen shop that I occasionally visit because it is close to my workplace. It is about a 4-5 minute walk from Gotanda Station. The shop only has counter seats and operates on a ticket system. They are known for their tsukemen and ramen that use shrimp broth. My favorite menu item is the EBI Tomato Tsukemen. The toppings at this shop are very substantial, so I always go for the special with extra toppings. For first-time visitors, I recommend the EBI Tomato Special Tsukemen. The EBI Tomato Tsukemen has an Italian influence and the noodles are quite thick. The broth is rich and pairs well with the noodles. The large pieces of menma are not too hard and provide a satisfying crunch. The rare-style chashu is tender and there are three generous slices. Other toppings like half-boiled egg, cherry tomato, baby leaf, lemon, croutons, and basil sauce add variety to the dish. The basil sauce is especially good for changing up the flavor as you eat. The shop pays attention to detail, like roasting the cherry tomatoes and infusing the half-boiled egg with lemon flavor. The soup is a rich shrimp and tomato broth with a hint of acidity, and it has mozzarella cheese at the bottom that adds a nice touch when mixed with the noodles. Overall, this is one of my favorite ramen shops in the Gotanda area.

I had been interested in this restaurant for a while. The vibrant visual of the tomato dipping noodles had stayed in my mind, so I decided that if I were to eat there, I would go for the tomato dipping noodles. I managed to slip in just before the last order at 2:30 pm on Saturday. Looking at the menu, there were EBI dipping noodles, EBI ramen, and EBI tomato dipping noodles. All EBI options looked delicious, but I had my heart set on the tomato dipping noodles. The special version also looked tempting, but since it was my first time, I went with the regular one. The amount of noodles for the dipping noodles was 250g for a regular size. There was also a smaller 150g "ladies size" option that could be topped up with an extra 100 yen. I purchased my meal from the ticket machine and helped myself to water. I also received a paper apron and a hair tie. The EBI tomato dipping noodles cost 1,150 yen. The dipping sauce that arrived first was a bright red tomato that looked like a burning sun. The bowl of dipping sauce was quite large. Then the noodles arrived, and they looked like a salad! It had arugula, Parmesan cheese, chashu, menma, cherry tomatoes, lemon slices, and sakura shrimp. I tried the soup first. It was a strong tomato flavor with a hint of EBI coming through later. I pulled out the thick noodles typical of Asakusa Kaikarou and dipped them into the sauce. The refreshing taste of tomato was amazing! I even ate the arugula and other toppings with the dipping sauce. It felt like eating a salad, even though it was ramen! The noodles were quite thick and chewy, but they paired well with the rich tomato sauce. When mixed well with the noodles, the aroma of the EBI became even better. I was surprised by the size of the menma and the pink chashu, which was as big as the bowl's surface. Both were tender and delicious. The noodles had a green pesto paste on the edge. There was also Genovese! It was already delicious as it was, but adding it to the tomato sauce made it even better. The flavors became more complex. I squeezed lemon over the noodles halfway through, and it brought a refreshing taste. Despite having 250g of noodles, I enjoyed the flavor changes and finished it in no time. Tomato noodles may be a love-it-or-hate-it flavor, but I really liked it. I know I'll crave it again when it gets warmer. Surprisingly, I didn't feel guilty at all after finishing the meal. Lastly, I had the soup diluted. It was also delicious. I also tried a bit of my companion's EBI dipping noodles, and it was also really good. The EBI had a rich and smooth flavor, which was great!

A unique twist on tsukemen, shrimp tsukemen. The soup has a fragrant shrimp aroma with a rich crustacean flavor, and the thick noodles are smooth with bits of wheat bran. Topped with thick menma, fragrant nori, and sweet, non-pungent cabbage. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

At lunchtime, there were a few empty seats. Purchased a meal ticket and was seated right away... it took about 15 minutes until the noodles arrived, which is quite a generous amount of time. The appearance is colorful and I mixed it without hesitation. This... despite its appearance, has a mild taste. Most maze soba dishes out there have a strong flavor with prominent soy sauce aroma or garlic punch, but this one seems to focus more on the shrimp base. However, compared to tsukemen, I didn't feel the shrimp flavor that much. Thank you for the meal.

I had tsukemen. I think I've been here before. The shrimp flavor was amazing, and the rich soup was great. The large chashu, thick menma, and toppings were all satisfying. The noodles had a good flavor and paired well with the broth. I was seated right by the entrance, so it was really cold with the outside air coming in. I should have thought about the timing better (laughs). Also, the door opens inward, so when leaving, I bumped into people waiting to buy meal tickets. The layout is a bit inconvenient. That's a shame.

Italian ramen. I ordered the special shrimp tomato. The appearance is nice, it looks attractive. I was drawn in by the visuals completely. The shrimp soup was lighter than I expected. Personally, I prefer it to be a bit heavier. The noodles are not too thick. Unfortunately, the cheese in the soup was clumped together. The soup base for dipping was cold. I took one sip and stopped.

- Access: 5 minutes walk from Gotanda Station on the JR line - Number of visits: First time - Purpose: Lunch with friends - Overview: A ramen shop specializing in tsukemen located in a quiet area of Nishi-Gotanda. The shop is known for its tsukemen and ramen with shrimp broth, which has a highly addictive flavor that is popular among customers. - Menu: The shop's specialty is the shrimp tsukemen. They also offer variations such as shrimp tomato tsukemen and spicy shrimp tsukemen, as well as ramen and maze-soba. They use noodles from Asakusa Kapparou and pay attention to the quality of ingredients. On this day, I had the large serving of EBI maze-soba (950 yen) and shrimp oil rice (200 yen). - Impression: While searching for a lunch spot in Gotanda on the internet, the impact of the shrimp tsukemen caught my attention, so I decided to visit for the first time. The shrimp tsukemen, which was popular a while ago, was a bit intimidating to try due to the long lines at Shinjuku's Gonokami Seisakusho, which started the trend. The EBI maze-soba I ordered arrived in about 7-8 minutes. The bowl was filled with vibrant dried shrimp, boiled cabbage, chashu, and diced menma, which I mixed thoroughly from the bottom. The umami flavor of the shrimp was strong, and it paired well with the chewy thick noodles from Asakusa Kapparou, creating a good balance overall. It is also recommended to use the pepper on the table to enhance the flavor. The side menu item, shrimp oil rice, was a simple yet flavorful dish with plenty of umami shrimp oil drizzled over the rice. Drizzling the leftover shrimp sauce from the maze-soba over it enhanced the shrimp flavor even more. They also have limited-time menu items, so I would like to visit again when I have errands nearby. Thank you for the meal. - Score at the time of visit: 3.40
