Located in Ginza, the tonkatsu specialty restaurant "Anzu Ginza" is situated on the 11th floor restaurant floor of the Ginza Mitsukoshi New Building. The company is operated by a company that has its own farm and wholesale business as its foundation. The restaurant receives meat that is managed and aged in-house, as well as freshly harvested rice and vegetables from their own farm, "Tokoton Farm", every morning. Particularly, the rice is milled and cooked in a pot daily so that customers can enjoy new rice all year round. The founder is a descendant of a three-generation horse and cattle eye specialist. The pork varieties used are mainly "Joushu pork Tokoton" and "Kagoshima black pork". Currently, they have expanded to Fukuoka, as well as the United States, Taiwan, and Thailand. The Ginza store is said to be the first store to open in the Kanto region. The customers at this restaurant seem to be more women who stop by while shopping rather than students or office workers. Perhaps in the future, the number of inbound customers will increase. The menu includes dishes such as "Joushu pork fatty loin", "Joushu pork loin", "Joushu pork tenderloin", and "Shrimp cutlet set", as well as a variety of fried foods. Today, I had the "Kyoto vegetable tasting set". You can choose between white rice and black rice. [Appetizer] "Pickled dried radish" - A pickled radish with a spicy and crunchy texture, leaving a lingering delicious taste. [Sauce & Dressing] The red bottle contains tonkatsu sauce (sweet), while the blue bottle contains tonkatsu sauce (spicy). The blue spicy tonkatsu sauce is a regular tonkatsu sauce, while the red sweet sauce is closer to demiglace sauce. Dressings include "Yuzu dressing" and "Green shiso creamy dressing", as well as "Olive oil", "Soy sauce", "Matcha salt", "Curry salt", and "Sesame and surikogi" for grinding sesame seeds to mix with tonkatsu sauce. With such a wide variety of sauces and dressings available, you can enjoy trying different flavors and discovering new tastes. [Salad] "Shredded cabbage" - Extremely finely shredded fluffy cabbage. You can mix it with various dressings. Salad is all-you-can-eat, so go ahead and enjoy it. It is served in a large bowl-like plate. The cabbage is first dressed with dressing, and for seconds, you can enjoy it with the sauce. [Miso soup] "Wakame miso soup" [Rice] "Black rice" - It's actually a five-grain rice. It has a chewy and fluffy texture. The description mentions that "white rice" is freshly harvested new rice from their own farm, cooked daily in a pot. [Pickles] "Chinese cabbage" and "White pickled daikon" - The white pickled daikon is not too sour, with a slight sweetness. [Main dish] "Kyoto vegetable tasting set" - The tonkatsu has a beautiful fox-like color coating. It includes yuba roll cutlet, Kyoto vegetable cutlet, shrimp cutlet, and tomato cutlet. The yuba roll cutlet is filled with burdock. The Kyoto vegetable cutlet wraps pumpkin with cabbage and fries it. The tomato, when heated, increases its sweetness and tastes like a fruit. The shrimp cutlet is a classic with minced shrimp inside. The crispy and light coating doesn't feel greasy as if it's not fried at all. Although it doesn't contain meat, I was asked if I was okay with that, but as I am not a vegetarian, I did feel a bit unsatisfied in the end. Overall, this place is recommended for when you want to enjoy tonkatsu elegantly after shopping in Ginza, before a movie, or for a refined lunch during work.
