Located a 5-minute walk from Ueno Station and Okachimachi Station, this restaurant is situated in an area with many dining options. I visited around 6 pm on a Saturday when I was feeling a bit peckish. The restaurant is a two-story building with a surprisingly large number of seats. You purchase a meal ticket at the electronic money-compatible ticket machine at the entrance and hand it over at the counter. On this hot day, I ordered the Sudachi Soba for 980 yen. It took less than 5 minutes from handing over the ticket to being served. The noodles were thin yet had a firm texture. They were easy to eat and had a nice aroma. The broth for the Sudachi Soba was cold and did not have any unpleasant smells. However, the portion of noodles was a bit small for the price, especially considering that just changing from Zaru Soba to Sudachi Soba cost over 400 yen extra. The soba itself was delicious, but considering the price, I would rate it as slightly expensive.

Had lunch in Ueno. Was going to try another restaurant but couldn't move due to heavy rain. Saw a big sign nearby the station advertising tempura rice bowl. It was Saturday and everywhere seemed crowded, so I thought if this place was empty, I would go there. Luckily, I was able to get in right away. I ordered the Ebi Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl for 980 yen. It took about 10 minutes. Probably because they fry it after you order, so it takes a bit of time. The tempura rice bowl was full of ingredients. The shrimp was crispy and juicy. The okra was slimy in a healthy way. The pumpkin and yam were deliciously soft. The egg was also perfectly cooked. When I was leaving, there was a line outside. I randomly chose this place, but I'm satisfied.

When riding the train, I saw a sign that caught my attention. It was a late lunch on a Saturday, and the heat made it hard to think about where to eat. I had originally planned to walk through the Ameyoko market area and the street next to Marui, but I ended up stopping in front of this restaurant after passing by a soba shop near the station. I saw they had tempura rice bowl and soba, which seemed nice. However, I couldn't decide between the chicken tempura soba or the mixed tempura soba and tempura rice bowl, as it seemed like a lot. With two vending machines outside the restaurant, I hesitated for a while. There was no one else around, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant seemed welcoming. Eventually, I chose the chicken tempura soba and a beer. I really wanted to try the tempura rice bowl though. When I entered, the staff was unfortunately busy washing dishes, so I had to call out to them. Normally, they guide you to your seat after you purchase a ticket from the vending machine. I prefer cold soba from a good restaurant, but this place served warm soba. The restaurant had decent air conditioning, which was good. I ordered a medium-sized bottle of Super Dry beer. The pickles were complimentary and I appreciated having them as a side dish while waiting. It took a while, but my chicken tempura soba (warm) arrived. The soba had a greenish color, with a tempura egg, shiso leaf, and two pieces of chicken tempura. It was not bad at all. Next to me, someone ordered the tempura rice bowl, which looked decent too. I might come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Ueno Okachimachi - Tempura and Soba Noodles at Tempura Miyako I had some time to spare in Ueno Okachimachi, so I was looking for a late lunch spot and came across this restaurant. It's located a couple of streets away from Ameyoko, near Chuo Street. Although it seems like a big chain, it was my first time dining here. This restaurant serves tempura, and the speed of service is fast and the prices are reasonable, making it a great option for busy office workers. The operation here seems to be well organized. (They double fry the tempura here, but at this price point, quick service is appreciated.) This time, I ordered the chicken tempura rice bowl. It came with three large pieces of chicken tempura, half-cooked egg tempura, and shiso leaf tempura. The chicken tempura had a slightly burnt taste, but it was delicious. It's a generous portion and you can eat for less than 1000 yen, so I recommend giving it a try. Thank you for the meal. Tempura and Soba Noodles Tempura Miyako 4-5-10 Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo Opening hours: 11:00- Sunday open Closed on: No regular holidays *Business hours and regular holidays are subject to change, so please check with the store before visiting.

[3.5 rating] I visited a restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Okachimachi Station at 3:23 in the afternoon. There were about 3 groups of customers, ranging from young to old. The interior of the restaurant seemed to have only a counter. Music was playing in the background. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura rice bowl for 980 yen (tax included) using a ticket machine. My impressions were that the tempura rice bowl had a variety of ingredients such as yam, egg, shrimp, carrot, eggplant, pumpkin, sweet potato, and okra. The rice was on the softer side, and the sauce tasted slightly sweet and salty. The egg was perfectly cooked with a slightly runny yolk, which I liked. The sweet potato had a nice thickness and sweetness to it. Some negatives I thought of were that the service felt a bit unfriendly, the rice in the tempura bowl was too soft, the sauce was a bit overpowering, and the oil felt a bit heavy. Thank you for the meal.

When I got off at Ueno Station, I saw a big sign that caught my eye with its sweet sauce for tempura rice bowls, so I decided to go in. They had a vending machine outside where you buy your meal ticket. I ordered the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl for 980 yen. I later found out that they don't include miso soup, so I should have ordered that separately. Besides shrimp, there were 5-6 types of vegetable tempura, and while it was just a typical tempura rice bowl, it was tasty. It looked less impressive in person than in the photos. The bowl was shallow, so there wasn't much rice, but I still left feeling satisfied. I'm curious about trying the restaurant further back in Ameyoko.

The nearest station is Ueno, near Ameyoko. The first floor has only counter seats, and there are seats on the second floor as well. I purchased the "Joten Don" (1280 yen) at the ticket machine at the entrance. The ingredients include 2 shrimp, squid, egg, lotus root, eggplant, shishito peppers, and sweet potato. The squid is wrapped in shiso leaves, giving it an extra touch. The lotus root is thickly cut, providing a good texture, and the sweet potato is deliciously soft. The sauce is on the richer side, and it seems like you can add more if you want. It's not a problem for me as I have a small appetite, but the rice portion is a bit small. The ingredients are large, so it's a bit difficult to eat without a lid or a separate plate. Going to a high-end restaurant may be intimidating, but this place seems convenient for when you want a slightly better tempura bowl than Tenya.

Yesterday's lunch was at "Tempura Palace". It's a tempura and soba restaurant located about 2 minutes north of Okachimachi Station (photo 1). The photo 2 shows the menu outside the store. We arrived around 1 pm and there was a small line outside the store. It seemed like you had to buy a meal ticket from a machine, so I asked the people in line for help. I bought the "Kakiage Soba (¥880)" using my Suica card. After about 3-4 minutes, we were finally seated at the counter. But then, it took quite a while... After about 5 minutes, they processed the meal ticket I had placed in front of me, and then I had to wait another 5-6 minutes for the food to be served (photo 3). The menu picture showed a jumbo tempura on top of the soba bowl, which seemed difficult to eat, but they served it separately. That was a good point. The tempura was freshly fried and crispy, very delicious. Well, the wait was worth it. The soba had a flavorful broth and was delicious, with thin noodles cooked just right. It was also tasty. The sign outside the store said "fresh soba", and now that I think about it, the noodles were indeed fresh. Not dried. It makes a difference, doesn't it? When I first saw the menu, I thought it might be a bit pricey, but it turned out to be reasonable. I thought it was a fair price. If you want to enjoy delicious freshly fried tempura, I recommend this place.

First, purchase a food ticket from the vending machine. The bright interior on the first floor has a striking red straight counter only. There seems to be seating on the second floor as well. The staff are of foreign descent. The exotic and beautiful female staff use native Japanese. They may have been raised in Japan. The customer base gives the impression that there are many foreigners due to the location. This Japanese fast food place with only a counter is easy for foreigners to visit. - Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl (980 yen tax included) Shrimp, eggplant, lotus root, egg, kabocha squash, okra, carrot, sweet potato. The half-cooked egg tempura is great! The price under 1,000 yen for this content is good! I also liked that the sauce was not too sweet. I'm planning to try the chicken tempura rice bowl next time.

I entered the restaurant around 7:15 pm on the first day of Golden Week. It seemed like there was a second floor, but the first floor, which only had a counter, was empty except for me. The counter seats were nicely spaced out, making it feel spacious. It was a self-order system. I ordered the Zaru Tendon, which was a set of Zaru Soba and Tempura Rice Bowl. The portion of soba was just right, but the rice in the tempura bowl seemed a bit small. The nori on top of the soba had a really nice aroma.

After eating at a French restaurant, I felt like finishing off with some soba noodles, so I decided to try Tempura Miyako. I bought a ticket from the machine for the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Soba (1280 yen) without being able to see the menu differences clearly. When I sat down, I saw on the menu displayed on an acrylic board that the dish includes 1 shrimp tempura, 6 vegetable tempura, egg tempura, and pickles. I didn't expect so much tempura. The tempura had a thick batter, which gave me slight heartburn. The soba noodles were very thin and the light soba broth was refreshing, similar to Bunsho's.

Freshly fried and delicious! The sauce is just right. The first floor is crowded but there is also a second floor. The bowl is a bit shallow and the rice portion is small, but it's enough to fill you up. It would be nice if there were options for toppings. I might want to try eating it as a single item again.

◼️Previous Tabelog rating: 3.07 (Jan 2023) Genre: Tempura, Soba, Tendon, Tenjyu ◼️Overall Impression Freshly fried. The fried food is quite tasty, but maybe it was just luck? The rice is very soft. ◼️Miyaten Don (1580 yen) Despite the chain-like sign, it took about 20 minutes to come out. The sauce is delicious! It reminds me of Kabukiage with its sweet and savory taste. It's on the sweeter side (which I like). Comes with 2 shrimp, okra, lotus root, sweet potato, half-cooked egg, squid wrapped in shiso, and conger eel. The tempura is not bad. It's slightly moist. However, the rice is clumpy and too soft, which is a downside. I think improving the way the rice is cooked can make a big difference, and I believe that soon you will be able to enjoy a delicious tempura bowl! It seems like a new restaurant, so I want to support it! ◼️Seating: Counter ◼️Crowdedness: Not crowded ◼️Service: Average ◼️Difficulty for a woman dining alone: Easy

Today, with no time to eat slowly, I stumbled upon this restaurant in Okachimachi. I ordered the same "tempura rice bowl and cold soba set" as last time. The tempura rice bowl was served in less than 5 minutes, which was much appreciated. Shortly after, the cold soba arrived. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal, and thank you very much.

[Shop Name] Tempura and Soba Noodles Tempura Palace [Nearest Station] Ueno Station, 5 minutes on foot [Lunch Budget] 880 yen - 1580 yen Visited in January 2023 [About the Shop] During lunchtime, I walked from the area near Ueno Station towards Okachimachi Station. I noticed a tempura restaurant and decided to check it out. The colorful signboard made it inviting, so I decided to go in. There was a ticket machine near the entrance, so I quickly looked at the menu and purchased a meal ticket. There were also menus in foreign languages displayed above the ticket machine, indicating that there were already some foreign customers inside. The customers seemed to be mainly working men, but there was a mix of different age groups, and I also saw female customers. It seems like the restaurant is popular among a wide range of customers. The first floor had a counter facing the kitchen with about 10 seats, and there were also seats on the second floor. [About the Food] ★ Chicken Tempura Bowl 880 yen While there were many tempura bowls priced over 1000 yen, there were also some options under 1000 yen, such as the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Bowl for 980 yen and the Mixed Tempura Bowl for 880 yen. I was interested in the Chicken Tempura Bowl, so I ordered it. I handed in my meal ticket, and the food was served within a few minutes, which I found to be quite fast. The bowl had two large pieces of chicken tempura and colorful shiso leaf tempura. I was surprised to find a half-cooked egg tempura in the center of the bowl. Each tempura had a delicious flavor. The rice had just the right amount of sauce on it. While I didn't receive miso soup or clear soup with the tempura bowl, I believe they could be ordered separately. Water was self-service. The tempura bowl was delicious, and I felt it offered good value for the price. I would like to visit this restaurant again in the future. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a soba restaurant that had been renovated into a tempura bowl shop. I had the "all-in" tempura bowl, which was delicious with a good amount of food. The tempura was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The soba was average, but I recommend trying the tempura bowl. When I took a picture of the staff, they reacted positively. It seems like the restaurant has great potential since it's still newly opened. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

On this day, I went straight to Ueno for lunch at a place I really wanted to visit. The restaurant this time was "Ten-don and Soba with Tempura Miyabi." The restaurant had a large wall sign, tapestries, and a flashy exterior to stand out in Ueno. I purchased my meal from the ticket machine near the entrance, which also accommodated foreign customers. I sat at the counter seat where I could see the tempura pot and enjoyed watching the tempura being fried. I ordered the "Kuro Ten-don" for 1280 yen, and was surprised by how quickly the rice and tempura were served. The visual presentation was also surprising, as it was much darker than expected. The tempura included: 2 prawn tempura, lotus root tempura, squid tempura with shiso leaf, okra tempura, eggplant tempura, and egg tempura. The tempura sauce was tangy, which was unexpected for me. The tempura itself had varying textures and flavors, with some being harder to identify due to the strong sauce. The rice was slightly firm, and the clear soup was delicious and a nice complement to the oily tempura. The Kuro Ten-don had a strong visual impact and unique sauce, which may appeal to those who enjoy bold flavors. Overall, the experience was interesting, and I look forward to seeing how the restaurant evolves in the future. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the soba restaurant on a late Sunday afternoon around 2 pm. The restaurant had been renovated and I had been curious about it for some time. Upon entering, I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine on the right. It was convenient, but the use of the ticket machine gave the tempura shop a somewhat cheap feel, considering the prices were somewhat high. I ordered the "Joten-don" (1,280 yen). Despite it being past lunchtime, the second floor was full, so I had to wait a few minutes outside before being seated at the counter on the first floor. The seats were separated by transparent partitions, with shelves below and hooks behind for hanging things, which was convenient. After a 6-minute wait, my tempura rice bowl arrived. It was filled with plenty of ingredients and looked delicious. However, because of the generous amount of toppings, it was a bit difficult to eat. The egg was perfectly runny, the lotus root had a nice texture, and the eggplant was juicy. The squid tempura was seasoned with shiso leaf, which was tasty, and the shrimp tempura was crispy and delicious. Overall, the tempura coating was just right, and it left an impression that was worth the price. It would be nice if they offered the option of extra rice for those who like more. I also noticed a foreign customer struggling with the ticket machine, as the staff seemed unable to assist in English. The instructions on the machine were in English, but it still seemed challenging. However, the customer was able to purchase their meal successfully, which was good to see.

It used to be a soba restaurant, but now it's been renovated into a tempura rice bowl restaurant. I visited for lunch on Saturday and ordered the special tempura rice bowl in a large size. It was served in about 10 minutes. The presentation was decent, but the taste was... better than Tenya, but considering the price, it was just okay. The miso soup had a good dashi flavor. I might not come back for a second visit.

The soba restaurant has been renovated into a tempura rice bowl restaurant. Originally, the tempura was delicious, but now as a tempura rice bowl restaurant, the shrimp and vegetable tempura bowl (shrimp, 6 kinds of vegetables, half-cooked egg) for 980 yen comes with complimentary soup. The tempura is moist and crispy, the sauce is just right, and the half-cooked egg is creamy. Thank you for the meal.
