I've been lurking in this place for over 20 years. It's not really lurking, is it? (^^;) It's more like Ayakoji Kimimaro, isn't it? When I come to Shibuya, my way of speaking changes... It's not like that! (See, I told you!) lol Let's stop fooling around and introduce the restaurant from here. It's a yakiniku restaurant called "Baribari-tei," with a name that evokes the delinquent biker gangs of the Showa era. According to the store information on Tabelog, it opened in 1980, but according to the store's website, it has been "over 20 years." So it may have moved here, so I used the expression "over 20 years." Twenty years ago, I used to live in Hiyoshi, so I used to come to Shibuya every day for no reason. But I was so broke that I only ate at "Matsuya" in Center-gai. So even though I was wandering around here and making a lot of noise back then, I don't remember this place. (^^;) But when I think about it again, it's amazing to have been in this place for over 20 years! Most of the shops that were around when I was wandering around are gone now. Maybe I didn't notice because I was lurking underground, but on the other hand, it's really amazing to have kept going for so long! There must be a reason why so many people have loved it for so long. The website mentions several "commitments," but I think the most important one is the commitment to customer service. We strive for meticulous customer service and service that stands in the customer's shoes. The above is a statement on the store's website. I really felt that way when I experienced the staff's service. It was a very pleasant response even though the customer spending was low during lunchtime on weekdays. It was a wonderful lunchtime. On this day, I chose the "Kalbi Kuppa" for 900 yen. It says "Our most popular dish" on the menu. It comes with "salad" and "pickles." If you look at the content, price, and location, there's no complaint! As for the taste, it's the average Kalbi Kuppa. It was very lightly seasoned and the spiciness was also mild. What is noteworthy is the deliciousness of the "rice." They also seem to be particular about the rice, and I agree. They quickly source delicious rice from Niigata, Fukushima, and other rice-producing areas. We serve freshly cooked, shiny, delicious rice. The website also lists the above statement, but I think it's safe to say that there is no deception about their commitment to the rice. Shibuya seems to undergo particularly rapid changes even among the neighborhoods in the heart of Tokyo. I hope that even 20 years from now, "Baribari-tei" will still be in this place in Shibuya. (^^)v
