During the busy Obon season, we visited a restaurant that was not too crowded as it had just opened. The staff warned us that it might take 2.30 minutes for the food to be served. My daughter ordered the thick-cut beef tongue seared set meal (core tongue), while I ordered the eel and grated yam set meal. We were told that the food would take some time, so I went outside to take photos of the crowded airport. However, after about 15 minutes, my daughter informed me that the food had arrived, so I hurried back. The thick-cut beef tongue had a generous portion and was satisfying. The eel and grated yam set meal included eel with cut wasabi, grated yam, small side dishes, pickles, and miso soup. The eel was fragrant and paired well with the grated yam. Some people were enjoying sake from noon and quickly finished a special eel rice bowl (3 eels) in about 10 minutes before leaving. Despite the airport prices, we were not too concerned as we had plenty of time due to the long lines at other places. It was a relaxing meal considering the flight time. Thank you for the meal.

On Unagi Day (Saturday), my partner was working so I picked them up by car and we decided to go somewhere on the way back. We ended up going to Haneda Airport Terminal 2 for a drive and to see the night view. We arrived at the observation deck around 7 pm and while watching the arrivals and departures, we noticed fireworks next to the Skytree! It turns out it was the Sumida River fireworks that day. After watching for a bit, we decided to grab something to eat on our way back. Since we both wanted to eat eel, we went to this restaurant. My partner had a highball since they weren't driving, but I had a ginger ale. We ordered some skewers and finally enjoyed a delicious eel rice bowl. The eel had a nice crispy skin, which my partner really enjoyed.

I chose this restaurant because my in-laws wanted to have eel before leaving Tokyo. While I personally felt like having a tuna bowl, I decided to go with the eel set so that I wouldn't finish eating before everyone else. The eel here has a crispy skin and a fragrant flavor, but the texture of the skin was not perfect. It was difficult to chew through the crispy skin without pulling the surrounding skin along. The eel pieces were large and filling. One thing to note is that the restaurant is small and the tables are cramped, making it feel crowded even at a 4-person table. Overall, eel is best enjoyed in a more spacious setting.

I had a lot of time to spare at the airport, so I decided to have a leisurely lunch. I enjoyed a sashimi platter, grilled beef tongue (core tongue), and half of an eel fillet with a beer. The core tongue was thick, perfectly grilled, seasoned just right, and had a chewy texture, making it very satisfying and delicious. The eel fillet was grilled in the local style, flavorful, with crispy skin, but personally, I prefer the softer texture of Kanto-style grilled eel.

At Haneda Airport Terminal 2, 5th floor, I had a light daytime drink before my flight to quench my thirst from the muggy heat. I ordered a bottled beer, simmered beef tripe, and grilled beef tongue. Eel seemed to take a while, but everything else was served stress-free. The hot beef tongue and beer were amazing! The beef tongue had a good thickness and was satisfying to eat. The side pickles and spicy miso dip were also nice. I enjoyed the simmered dish sprinkled with shichimi. The tender tripe and miso flavor were great. I didn't opt for a set meal and just enjoyed it with my drink! Thank you for the meal.

At Haneda Airport around 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday, I was thinking of having a hamburger at a restaurant I had found, but there was a huge line. The Chinese restaurant next door was also packed. I thought I might not be able to eat, so I went up the escalator and found this izakaya with no line. I decided to give it a try, and it had been about four years since I last visited. I ordered a yakitori set without eel, potato fries, a bottled beer, and beef tongue with green onions. The beef tongue was a bit tough but well-seasoned. The potato fries were thick but perfectly salted. The yakitori was delicious. It was different from my previous visit. By the time I left, there were about six people waiting in line. I will definitely come back again.

Haneda Airport was really crowded (^_^;) and all the restaurants had long lines. We decided to have lunch at this place where the wait was relatively short. We ordered reasonably priced meals - my wife had grilled mackerel, while my daughter and I had the fried chicken set. I really wanted to try the eel dish which was five times the price. Even though the food here was cheaper, it was not lacking in quality. The mackerel was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The pickled radish side dish was elegant, and the pickled cabbage with yuzu was delicious. My daughter even finished the salad, except for the green onions, which is a good sign. The rice was freshly cooked, and the miso soup was flavorful. This set meal leaves nothing to be desired. The restaurant was on a high floor, but maybe it was not as crowded because you couldn't see the airplanes. It might be a hidden gem before departure. (^∇^)

Visited with my friend for dinner. We had Saikyo-style grilled mackerel and beef tongue. The beef tongue was delicious, but I've been getting really tasty beef tongue as a return gift from my hometown tax payment recently, so I found this restaurant's version a bit lacking. However, the portion size was very generous. The Saikyo-style grilled mackerel was also tasty, but it felt like something you could buy at a supermarket and cook at home, maybe even tastier. The flavor was a bit mild, but you could also say it was elegantly seasoned. Thank you for the meal.

I had some time before my departure to Fukuoka, so I decided to have a drink here. It seems like a regular izakaya, which is quite rare to find in an airport. I ordered a variety of yakitori skewers and they were delicious. They had a wide selection of alcohol and a rich lunch menu. It was really tasty.

I was lured into the restaurant by the signboard featuring eel tails and eel liver. It seemed like they were short-staffed as even though there were empty seats, I couldn't be seated right away. However, after waiting for almost 30 minutes with the sole desire of trying the eel tails, I finally made it to the counter. Unfortunately, they were out of eel tails and eel skewers with salt. Disappointed, I decided to try the grilled eel strips with sauce and eel liver, accompanied by a glass of Junmai sake from Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi. The liver had a strong fatty smell and appearance-wise, it looked like meatballs with a lot of internal organs around it. Personally, I prefer just the liver. The grilled eel strips had a thick sauce, which paired well with rice but was too strong for the sake. The meat was very tender, with the skin peeling off easily when chewed. If you like Kanto-style soft eel, you'll enjoy it, but if you prefer eel with crispy skin from grilling, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a matter of personal preference when it comes to this restaurant.

I arrived at Haneda Airport early due to the expected crowds during the year-end and New Year holidays. After checking in, I had plenty of time before my flight, so I decided to have a quick drink. Instead of my usual choice of assorted skewers or seared mackerel, I opted for something different this time. I ordered a sashimi platter, grilled beef tongue with green onions, and pickles, along with my favorite draft beer. The sashimi platter was delicious, and the grilled beef tongue with green onions paired perfectly with the beer. The pickles were great for cleansing the palate and complementing the drinks. Before I knew it, I had ended up drinking six beers. It was a great meal.

Haneda Airport Terminal 2, 5th floor. I have been to Haneda Airport many times, but I had no idea this new terminal existed. I was curious about the eel, so I decided to visit. ⭐️Hitsumabushi (grilled eel over rice) Special 4800 yen, Umaki (eel roll) 1200 yen. I thought it might be enough to share between two adults, but it was a bit on the smaller side. It seems to be about 2/3 eel pieces. ⭐️They grill the eel right in front of you, which is very satisfying. The sauce is tasty, and even though the eel was frozen (stored after being prepared), surprisingly it was flavorful and delicious. ⭐️It's often difficult to find places open continuously at Haneda, so I was relieved to be able to easily get a table. The atmosphere is a bit like an izakaya.

This is my last meal in Tokyo! I wanted to eat eel and found out that it is not the bottom tier eel, but rather domestic eel. It was well grilled, with crispy skin and a deliciously fragrant and bitter taste. The eel was firm and tasty, cooked in a flavorful broth.

I stayed overnight at Haneda Airport and used the late-night flight. When I wanted to have a drink, everywhere was crowded because more people are flying nowadays. My favorite accompaniment for beer is a mixed skewer platter (with eel), rolled omelette, and scallion miso cucumbers. The mixed skewer platter goes perfectly with beer. I like everything salted to my taste, it's the best. The rolled omelette is not too sweet, just how I like it. The scallion miso cucumbers are delicious, really tasty. Since I'm about to board the plane ✈️, I'll stop at 5 drinks this time. Thank you for the meal.

Dinner at Haneda Airport. It's crowded everywhere, but this place is relatively empty because it's not easy to spot. I wanted something refreshing, so I ordered a tuna rice bowl and miso with cucumbers. The miso with cucumbers was surprisingly large. The tuna rice bowl was also big. I forgot it was pickled, so I accidentally poured too much wasabi soy sauce and it became too salty. But it was delicious. I saw someone next to me eating an eel rice bowl, and the eel was overflowing from the bowl.

Hanako Onuma stayed in Hakodate for three nights and four days, blessed with good weather for a pleasant trip. It rained only one day, and we took the limousine bus back at night. I messaged my daughter on LINE that I would be at the baggage claim, but she surprised me by coming to pick me up. We decided to play with Pukuchan and watch airplanes on the rooftop since my daughter was driving and I could drink. We had yakitori and then headed back. We felt like we were in a pub at Haneda Airport. Pukuchan asked, "Are there too many airplanes?" (laughs) We had a lively conversation about the four days we didn't see my daughter. Near Haneda Airport Terminal 2, there is a restaurant street called "Kuronagahide" where you can enjoy a meal and drinks before or after your flight. I used this restaurant before my trip to Ishigaki last fall. Although I didn't depart on that day, as I had an early morning flight, I stayed at Haneda Tokyu the night before and used this restaurant for dinner. It was a convenient izakaya-style restaurant. It might be a good place for business travelers returning from Haneda to have a party. <Items Ordered> - Appetizer: Ohitashi (boiled vegetables) - Tuna with grated yam - Harihari salad - Simmered beef tendon: A hearty dish with a wild taste of beef tendon - Assorted skewers (top grade): Assortment including eel skewers. It includes chicken thigh, heart, gizzard, liver, and other typical yakitori items. <Drinks Ordered> - Draft beer - Jokigen (local sake)

Visited Haneda Airport for a casual drink. It was hot today, so the draft beer was delicious. I love draft beer. The perfect companions for draft beer are seared mackerel, octopus tempura, and meat miso cucumber. The meat miso cucumber goes well with draft beer, the seared mackerel is tasty, and the octopus tempura is delicious. Finished with 6 draft beers. It was delicious.

After a long time, I stopped by the airport for a meal before heading home. It was around noon and there were many people lining up at the shops, but luckily I managed to slip into one as customers were leaving. I started with a beer and toasted to the occasion! I decided to have grilled eel and a set meal for my snacks. The set meal options all looked delicious, making it hard to choose, but I went with the broiled mackerel marinated in miso for 1980 yen. The airport prices are a bit steep, huh? The grilled eel arrived first. I seasoned it with salt, then added wasabi and soy sauce. The skin was crispy and the flesh was fluffy, making it incredibly tasty! The broiled mackerel turned out to be surprisingly large! It was plump and had just the right amount of flavor seeping through. The set meal came with barley rice, pickles, and side dishes that complemented the alcohol (I ended up having sake along with beer). In the end, the meal was worth the price and left me feeling very satisfied! Thank you for the delicious meal! Now off to catch my flight and then a bus to Miyakonojo!

I stopped by on my way back from Hokkaido for a meeting with my colleagues. We had beers and shochu on the rocks, along with some snacks. The drinks we had were: draft beer, Sandai no Matsuri, Beni Otome, Kuro Isanishiki, Fujisai, and Nakamata. The snacks we ate were: spinach appetizer, assorted grilled skewers without eel, pork shabu-shabu with ponzu sauce, octopus tempura, assorted pickles, potato fries, and butter-grilled squid. In addition to the above, my colleagues also ordered highballs and various other drinks. The taste of the snacks was especially good. Everything was delicious, but overall, it felt a bit pricey for an airport. We had a total of 15-16 drinks, including the appetizer, 7 dishes, and it cost us 20,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.
