We visited the restaurant as a group of two. The appearance of the restaurant is quite elegant, as shown in the picture. Inside, there are about 15 counter seats surrounding the hearth. We also sat at the counter, and noticed that most of the customers were middle-aged salarymen in pairs. It seems like a place suitable for business meetings or coworker gatherings. We ordered dishes like Saikyo-yaki and grilled yellowtail collar, which were quite delicious. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. I only had beer, but it seems like they have a wide variety of sake as well. There were private rooms at the back for about 10 people, giving off the impression that it's a good place for middle-aged businessmen to gather.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and according to Tabelog, it seems to be quite expensive at night. So, I decided to check out the taste of the restaurant by having lunch there. I visited at 11:40 am on a weekday. Even though they opened at 11:30 am, the restaurant was already full and there was a waiting list of 7 people. I waited for about 20 minutes until the first group finished eating and was able to sit at the counter. In front of the counter, there was a large charcoal grill where many fish were being grilled. It looked like they specialize in grilled fish, but I wanted to check the freshness of the fish, so I ordered the sashimi set. The sashimi set included fresh bonito, sea bream, and seared bonito, but the most delicious was the sea bream. It was served with the skin on, but the flavor was rich and well-aged. The grilled mackerel set was also delicious, with plenty of fatty tuna that was of high quality, so I didn't get tired of eating it. I noticed that the large grilled salmon set was popular among other customers, so I plan to revisit the restaurant next time to try that set.

At 11:50 am, it was my second visit for lunch. The central sunken hearth creates a great atmosphere. It would be even better in winter (^_−)−☆ I had to wait a bit, but soon I was seated at the counter. More and more customers kept coming in, and I was glad I arrived before noon. The grilled salmon, mackerel with sansho pepper, marinated silver cod, salted mackerel...etc were all sizzling around the sunken hearth. The smoke was sucked up by a powerful ventilation fan in the center, so the smell of charcoal grilling didn't reach the counter. Occasionally, the owner, who was at the forefront, would place bright red charcoal in the center of the sunken hearth. Ahh... you can also order your food to be well done. This time, I ordered the mackerel with sansho pepper set meal, and even though I was a bit worried about the normal portion of rice, the mackerel with sansho pepper sauce was incredibly delicious, and my colleague was amazed at how quickly I finished it... I really love Japanese food ~(≧∀≦)

This is a restaurant located on the first floor, about a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station. I always enjoy dining here. I have tried all the menu items, but I always go for the Grilled Salmon with Salt, which is my favorite. Once again, I was impressed by the delicious and fluffy salmon. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Yesterday's delicious salt-grilled salmon set meal was so good that I came back the next day. Today, I brought two of my junior colleagues from work. They were undecided, so I said I would pay for it and suggested they try the Saikyo grilled mackerel. One of them ended up ordering the Saikyo grilled mackerel! It was incredibly delicious and fluffy, the best. I've never had anything this delicious. It was truly delicious, without any exaggeration!

I visited the restaurant around 1:20 pm on a regular day. There were 5 groups waiting inside. I was seated in less than 5 minutes. Since it was my first time at this restaurant, I decided to go with something safe like the Grilled Salted Salmon Set Meal for 1200 yen and added natto for 100 yen. It was delicious, incredibly delicious! I was amazed at how plump and juicy the salmon was. Is this how charcoal grilling works? The side dishes like kinpira, pickles, and miso soup were also delicious, and I was surprised that I could finish the generous portion of rice. Next time, I will try the Okhotsk Atka Mackerel or Fried Horse Mackerel Set Meal or the Ume (plum) Simmered Dish Set Meal!

The restaurant was bustling with a full house when I arrived during peak hours on a regular night. The staff were not arrogant but rather soft-spoken and calm in their service. The menu includes dishes such as grilled mackerel with sansho pepper, grilled fish, grilled rice balls, rice balls, octopus tempura for ¥880, appetizers, edamame, corn tempura, dried squid, beef tongue, and alcohol x2. Ordering all of these items only cost ¥5500 per person, which was much cheaper than expected. The quality of the food, speed of service, and customer service were all excellent, making it a great value for the price. Some recommended dishes to try include the grilled mackerel with sansho pepper, which was the number one dish at the restaurant, and the corn tempura made with fresh seasonal corn, featuring a light batter that enhances the sweetness of the corn.

I wanted to eat grilled fish, so I arrived at the restaurant just before 12 o'clock. The spacious interior was almost full, so I sat at the counter seat in front of the hearth. I couldn't decide between sweet salted salmon or grilled mackerel, but I ended up choosing the mackerel. Since it's grilled on the hearth, the fish ends up being slightly curved. Even though it was lunchtime, I was grateful for the careful preparation! The fish is being grilled right in front of me, with a nice sear. This restaurant doesn't cut corners by grilling something that's already been grilled. They take their time to grill it thoroughly before serving it on a plate, but it's worth the wait.

I visited around 1 pm on a regular day. It was somewhat crowded but I managed to get a seat. I was led to a tatami room. I ordered the silver cod with Kyoto-style pickles. The fish looked small but tasted incredibly delicious. It was a comforting meal. The staff seemed a bit cold, perhaps due to being busy, but that's understandable.

When you come to Tokyo, you have to eat grilled fish at this place, a classic restaurant. Shinjuku's Roran, which has become a staple for lunch during Tokyo business trips, is always visited multiple times. I always order the silver salmon, but this time I challenged the grilled silver cod in Saikyo style. The moist, melting texture of the silver cod. I always feel that the perfect grilling level, not overcooked or undercooked, is exquisite. It's like the ultimate balance of juicy and moist grilled fish. And the rice, miso soup, and pickles are all high quality. It's also wonderful as a set meal. Truly a delicious high-quality fish, silver cod. It was delicious! But, personally, I still think salmon is my favorite at Roran.

This is my first visit. It was nice to be able to eat while watching the robatayaki at the counter. The delicious smell made my appetite increase. The grilled fish, I think it was saury, was soft and delicious. The grilled shishamo was excellent too! The grilled rice ball was just the right size and easy to eat. The corn tempura was also amazing. I finished with the combination of grilled stingray fin and sake. Thank you for the meal.

The staff at this restaurant are calm and mature, making it a good place for more serious conversations. The portion sizes are not large, but just right for enjoying a drink. It is not like typical izakayas where you feel full just by looking at the food. In short, it is elegant. The cooking scene around the hearth is visible, which is enticing. I think it's a good place for entertaining, dates, or business meals. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant isn't very large, but there is a sunken kotatsu seating area where families with children can relax. The complimentary tofu was creamy and dessert-like, very delicious. The grilled dishes such as salt-grilled sweetfish, whole grilled prawns, and grilled yam were all excellent. The sashimi was thick and fresh, with large pieces of fish, making it a luxurious dish. Everything was delicious, and even our friends from overseas were very satisfied.

@yuzan_gurume ◀️ Great Tokyo gourmet information posted daily Always crowded! A truly delicious robatayaki lunch If you are interested in this restaurant, be sure to save it by clicking the save button at the bottom right of the screen. Have you ever tried robatayaki fish at Roban in Gyoen? I don't know why, but fish cooked on the robatayaki grill is incredibly delicious! It's totally different and impressive, so if you haven't tried it yet, I recommend giving it a try! This restaurant is always crowded for lunch, a popular spot! The interior is spacious and the turnover is quick, so even if you have to wait in line, I recommend waiting and seeing! That's how highly recommended this place is! The counter with the robatayaki grill is usually for solo diners, so if you want to sit at the counter, going alone is recommended! Anything you order will probably be delicious, but the recommended dish is definitely the silver cod with Saikyo miso! It's really delicious with the rich flavor of the fish! I love this place so much, so I hope everyone will go and try it! However, it's a mystery why we couldn't sit at the counter even though we were one of the first in line. Yuzan went with two people, but were seated at a table. They asked for the counter but were refused, and later on, a couple who arrived much later were seated at the counter, which was a bit disappointing. If you want to sit at the counter, it seems like going alone increases your chances. If this post was helpful, please like and save it. I would be very happy if you could comment "Robatayaki Stacy!" I visited Roran, located right by Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station. I have been going to the Gyoen frequently lately, and I used to run a business in a tower apartment in this area, so it's a bright place for me. It's still a cozy neighborhood. I wonder if Katsusei, the best tonkatsu place I used to love in Shinjuku, is still there, or if the steakhouse I frequented along Yasukuni Street is still open. Every time I walk around, I feel uplifted. Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station, close to Nijome, has good security. I saw Roran, a nice-looking restaurant along the main street, and impulsively went in with a friend. The interior was clean and welcoming. After eating, I checked the restaurant on Tabelog and saw high ratings, which made sense. They were using firewood for grilling. The middle-aged owner was grilling sweetfish. I liked that. The staff were young and attentive to details. First, we were served homemade tofu as an appetizer, which was delicious. Then we had grilled abalone with butter, which was incredibly tasty. The pink grapefruit sour was made with pink grapefruit, showing their attention to detail. The tempura of white shrimp from Toyama was flavorful with the combination of sansho pepper and salt. We ordered the "angel prawns" sashimi, which was also delicious. Since we were already enjoying the meal, we also ordered grilled clams, which were a bit pricey but worth it. It's rare to find such a reasonably priced, clean Japanese restaurant near the station. I definitely plan to visit again. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

Conclusion, I think I will revisit. Apart from the photos, we ordered 7-8 dishes. The payment was split among 4 people, totaling 7500 yen per person (without all-you-can-drink, with half a bottle of champagne and 1 cup of sake per person). The quality of the dishes is consistently high and everything is delicious. It is a great place for dining with friends who appreciate good food. If you are looking for a reliable restaurant in the Shinjuku area, this is the place to go. Taking into account the characteristics of the area, it is a fantastic restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and the clientele were very calm and to my liking. The dishes were simple and all very delicious. I would like to visit again. However, there was one issue. It may have been just a one-time thing, but the sour drinks had no carbonation at all. It was so lacking in carbonation that I asked for a replacement, but that was also disappointing. Also, it was my first drink, so it kind of put a damper on my mood. It seems like they use bottled carbonated water, but I wish they had paid more attention to that. If this issue is resolved on my next visit, I will give a higher rating.

This restaurant is recommended for group dining. It is located near Shinjuku Gyoen Station and is quite spacious. The restaurant's specialty is charcoal-grilled dishes cooked in a hearth, with options like salt-grilled sweetfish available. They offer a variety of delicious seafood, including white shrimp from Toyama, at reasonable prices. It's a great place to go with colleagues.

Today's lunchtime craving for fish led me to "Gyoen Roan" in Shinjuku Gyoen, where I enjoyed the Silver Cod Saikyo-yaki set meal for 1800 yen. The rice, cooked on the firmer side, was incredibly delicious! The high-quality egg for an additional 100 yen made me want to have some egg over rice. The style of grilling fish over a hearth is similar to teppanyaki, but somehow more soothing. Even for foreign tourists, this experience would be unforgettable.

If you are looking for the most delicious lunch in Shinjuku Gyoen that is great for both dates and solo dining, this place is highly recommended. During lunchtime, there are usually about 10 people in line, but you can get a seat in about 15 minutes. You can sip tea while watching the charcoal grill and choose your menu. All the grilled fish options are really delicious. I have been here about 10 times and it seems like regulars often order fried dishes. About half of the people seem to order salmon, but I prefer the delicious mackerel. The white rice and miso soup are also delicious, making for a cozy and wonderful lunchtime! Enjoy your delicious meal, everyone!

This is my third visit to this restaurant. I have tried cod, salmon, and salmon again. This time, I had the "Delicious Salt Grilled Salmon Set" for 1200 yen. The fish was large and the grilling was perfect. It had a good amount of fat, allowing me to enjoy the natural flavor of the fish. There were very few bones, making it easy to eat, which was great for someone like me who dislikes bones. The portion of fish was generous, so even with a regular serving of rice, I was satisfied. There is usually a line during lunchtime, as the grilling takes time, so if the restaurant is full, you may have to wait for a while. Luckily, on this day, I arrived after the peak hours and it was raining, so I was able to get in without waiting. (Having a point card and getting double points on rainy days was a nice bonus.) The cod for 1800 yen may be a bit pricey, but the salmon for 1000 to 1200 yen is still reasonable, so I will definitely be coming back. Since my workplace is nearby, I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Indirect lighting creates a nicely moody atmosphere, perfect for a chic dining experience. The grilled fish by the hearth sounds delicious! It seems like a great spot for gatherings or dates. It's probably best to make a reservation for the weekend. The food was delicious starting from the appetizers. Each dish had a gentle and elegant flavor. The beer was poured carefully from the tap, showing the attention to detail. The Augus beer (unfiltered) (¥850) is a new authentic Japanese craft beer, kept at a low temperature from the factory to maintain the live beer yeast (see menu). Pickled assortment (¥720), Fried octopus (¥880), Grilled conger eel (¥1,700) ...
