Shinjuku is great because even if our first choice is unavailable, there are plenty of other options to choose from. We arrived at the shop at 2:43 PM and found that all the table seats were full, so we had to wait. While waiting, I browsed through the menu and was intrigued by the description of the "Strawberry Shortcake Drink Set with a hint of strawberry brandy syrup," so I ordered it for 1370 yen. We were seated at a table at 2:54 PM, and I promptly placed my order with the staff. For the set drink, I chose Mel's Three Berry Tea Ice, which I had not seen much at other shops. It seems that any drink on the menu is okay for the set drink as long as it's non-alcoholic. The interior of the shop is decorated with sewing-related ornaments, and most of the customers are women. In fact, there were no other men besides us. The drink arrived at 3:18 PM, followed by the cake at 3:19 PM. The strawberries were slightly tangy, and the sponge cake had a hint of strawberry brandy. The cream was slightly sweet, and when eaten with the strawberries, it was just right. The berry tea was not as sweet as I had imagined, but it had a refreshing taste like strawberry tea, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Cafe on the 2nd floor of Lumine Est. It's convenient on rainy days being directly connected to the station. I had the Earl's Melon shortcake drink set, costing 1790 yen. I chose a hot coffee. I originally ordered the Melon Tiramisu Tart, but they were out of it. The waitress was apologetic and informed me after about 10 minutes. The service took 15 minutes. The shortcake was huge, about 10cm tall, and impressive. Despite the name "Petit," the cakes are big. It's been a while since I had shortcake, but it was a good experience. The cake had plenty of melon on top and inside, with gold leaf on top and a single blueberry. The cream was sweet, but balanced well with the slightly bitter coffee. Next time, I'll try the tart.

After finishing a stroll in Shinjuku around 5 PM on a Friday during the Golden Week holiday, I decided to have a cup of tea before heading home. I found La Petite Merveille Lumine Est Shinjuku, which wasn't too crowded, and chose a table seat. I looked at the cakes and noticed they were quite pricey. Unfortunately, the strawberry tart was sold out, so I ordered a set of Miyazaki mango and Earl melon custard tart with Earl Grey iced tea. I thought it would be bright red, but it was a refreshing and easy-to-drink tea. I would like to go back when they have limited edition cakes again!

White Peach Verrine Set ¥1320 (with Ice Earl Grey Tea) It was much larger than I expected from looking at the menu!! And there's plenty of peach, which is sweet and delicious!! Being from Okayama where peaches grow, I'm quite picky about peaches, but I was very satisfied with the sweetness of these peaches! The top two layers are sweet and tasty, but the thinly sliced middle layer is so-so... The yogurt mousse at the bottom is super delicious and satisfying on its own ☺️☺️ The interior of the restaurant is surrounded by a cute atmosphere, filled with young women, creating a girly vibe.

I stopped by to kill some time. I saw some cute cakes in the showcase, so I decided to go in. I ordered a chocolate cake and a cafe latte. The cake had a nice balance of sweet and sour with raspberries, and it was very delicious. I also saw a tempting "white peach custard tart" on the menu, so I'll definitely try it next time along with their afternoon tea!

Before heading home, I had a drink set at La Petite Mercerie on the 2nd floor of Lumine Est Shinjuku. I ordered the "Hokota Melon and Sato Nishiki Custard Tart" with an iced cafe latte. It's the season for melons and cherries. The counter is bright with glass windows, allowing you to see outside. The Sato Nishiki and melons were delicious and juicy! The custard cream with lemon had a nice touch of lemon bitterness, making it very tasty. The juiciness of the fruits combined with the refreshing lemon made me feel like summer. In May 2022, on a weekend in Shinjuku, I had oysters at the crowded Lumine Est restaurant area and then moved to this cafe for tea. Since the 5th-floor Tully's had individual partitions and it seemed like you shouldn't talk, I decided to look for another place to have tea within Lumine. It was around 12:45 pm, and it seemed like everyone was having lunch. I wondered if there might be a tea place available? I managed to grab the last available table at this cafe, which was packed with narrow seating arrangements and people. Everywhere in Lumine Est was incredibly crowded, surprising me. This cafe also offers lunch menus, which seemed to appeal to women. Since we were just having tea, we opted for the cake set. I chose the seasonal cake set with coffee for 1400 yen. The seasonal shortcake was melon-flavored. It was quite affordable for a weekend in this location in Shinjuku. Lately, even in Kichijoji, you can find cake sets for around 1600 yen on weekdays. Moreover, this shortcake was incredibly delicious! The sponge was fluffy with a rich yellow color. It must have been baked with good quality eggs. You could tell the cream was also of high quality. Even after eating a lot of oysters, I devoured the shortcake, which melted in my mouth. After chatting with my friend for about an hour, we left the place. The oysters we had on a different floor were also incredibly delicious, and this cake was also very tasty. I was impressed by Lumine Est. It gets really crowded on weekends. Originally, I was heading to a different shop but got drawn into this one on the way up the escalator because of the cute cakes displayed in the showcase. The name of the shop can be pronounced in any way since it's a proper noun, but it feels a bit weird to pronounce "petite" as "puti".

The cakes displayed are cute and round, and it seems that the main store is located on the 2nd floor of Lumine.
