The cost performance was the best ever! Among all the Unohana dishes I've had, this was the most delicious. The ingredients are great, but the seasoning is top-notch. The taste is elegant, with a dashi broth that doesn't seem to contain any artificial seasonings. I thought I was in a high-class restaurant. Most izakayas have similar menus, but this place stands out with dishes like mushroom and chestnut ajillo and Kanjan Kejan, showing that they are trendy and stylish. The counter seats are perfect for solo diners or dates. If you're looking to drink with friends, this is the place to go.

"Shinagawa Uoyado" stands about a 5-minute walk from the east exit of Gotanda Station. This izakaya offers authentic fish dishes along with drinks, operated by the company that started the popular pub "Beatle" in 2017. The exterior has a modern pub look but with a traditional feel like straw curtains. Inside, there is a clean and spacious layout with a counter, regular tables, and even a raised table area for larger groups. During my visit around 4:30 pm, there was only one other group at the counter, so I ordered a bottled beer and checked the menu. The menu focuses on seafood dishes like grilled, fried, tempura, and simmered fish, along with a variety of drinks including sake, wine, and craft beer. I ordered several sashimi dishes that caught my eye. The atmosphere was relaxed as I waited for the first dish, "Grilled swordfish and shiitake mushrooms," which had a firm texture but a slightly mild taste. Next was the "Hokkaido fresh octopus with vinegar," with a unique texture that was quite enjoyable. The "Today's 3-point sashimi" featured tuna, striped jack, and flounder, all fresh and delicious. I switched to a shochu highball for my second drink and ordered "sardines" and "ark shells" for my fourth dish. The sardines had a noticeable variation in taste. Still having room in my stomach, I added "Chiba prefecture bonito tataki (5 pieces)" and "nameko" to my order. The bonito tataki had a great combination of bonito flavor and condiments, while the nameko was a chunky type with a balanced miso flavor. The finale, "fish head miso soup," was deeply satisfying. Overall, this place seems great for a lively drinking session with friends on a holiday. If you're curious, give it a try.

I think this is a user-friendly store. It may turn into a tatami room when there are many people, but I hope this kind of store will remain.真宿 #Gotanda #Tsururei #Junmai Ginjo #sake #uojuku #kotanda #japan

I visited a restaurant with my boss who wanted to eat Kanjankejan, located about a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station! It was great that they have it all year round! We also ordered their specialty, raw horse mackerel fry, which was incredibly delicious! It was so good that we ended up ordering more! Thank you for the delicious meal!

When you come here, I recommend the nama-aji fry. It's very delicious. The portions are small because the prices are low, but it's nice to be able to try a variety of dishes. The monthly fruit sour drinks are also good, although they can be hit or miss. When I went, they had yellow peach sour, which I loved!笑

On Friday night, June 23, 2023, the izakaya was completely crowded. I hadn't made a reservation in advance, but managed to get a table. The fish dishes were delicious. Other dishes were also quite good! One dish was cheap, but the portion was small. We ended up finishing two bottles of shochu, and it unexpectedly became a bit pricey (laughs).

I made a reservation and visited on a regular day. I arrived at 6:00 PM, but it was quite crowded, so reservations are essential. There is a wide variety of dishes, mainly focusing on seafood. Even though it was busy, the food and drinks arrived quickly after ordering. The photos show only the raw horse mackerel fry and Kanjankejan, but we also ordered a lot more. Everything we ate was delicious, and this restaurant is definitely to my liking. We had a great time eating and drinking, and it cost around 6,000 yen per person for a group of three. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

Thursday 19:00. Made a phone reservation and visited with 2 people. Surprised by how spacious the interior of the restaurant was. They had a counter, tables, and tatami seating. There was a TV playing the Japanese national soccer team game on that day.

After a long time, I went to a hearty fish restaurant. Even though I had been there before, I didn't take any photos because I was already drunk by the time we got there for the second round. So, this time we went there for the first round! It's still a popular place. Here's what we had: Squid sashimi, Firefly squid simmered in soy sauce, Octopus sashimi, Mozuku seaweed vinegar, Grilled tuna belly, Fried fresh sardines, Grilled tuna head with special sauce, Salmon fry, Assorted sashimi, White fish tofu, Grilled flying fish roe, and Ochazuke. I didn't take photos of the menu, so I'm just writing based on the atmosphere. After drinking beer and lemon sour, it ended up costing around 6000 yen per person. As expected, Kane's cost performance is unbeatable. Uo-ya is delicious too!

Visited on the night of 5/26. The restaurant had a counter in a "ko" shape and seating in a tatami room. It was a gathering of six middle-aged men. The menu included a sashimi platter, grilled belly, negi dashi roll, ice fish, and mehikari, among others, with a great selection of fish dishes. It was a perfect place for a lively and enjoyable gathering. Good value for money! ^_^

I couldn't take photos of the food because I was drinking with colleagues. The exterior of the restaurant is old, but the interior is clean and it was almost full by 6:30 pm. As expected from a restaurant known for its delicious fish, the sashimi, grilled fish, steamed clams, and fish tempura were all made with fresh ingredients and were delicious. It cost a little over 10,000 yen for two people. I would definitely go back for a casual drink after work. It was inconvenient that there were no ashtrays outside for smoking.

I do not have any images, but I recommend the fresh tomato sour at this place. The fried sardines were crispy and delicious! There are no bad choices here, everything is tasty so I recommend it. I went on a weekday at 8 pm and it was quite crowded, with some people dining alone. There weren't many young people, and the customers seemed to have decent manners.

I visited the restaurant "Shinagawa Uoyado" located about a 4-5 minute walk from Gotanda Station East Exit. It was my first visit. The restaurant was almost full when I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday, but I managed to get a seat during a turnover. I ordered bottled beer and some dishes that go well with alcohol. Here are the dishes I ordered:
- Today's 3 kinds of sashimi: ¥860
- Watercress salad: ¥620
- Edamame: ¥320
- Grilled eggplant: ¥420
- Akahoshi large bottle beer: ¥650
As for the taste:
- Today's sashimi set included yellowtail, flounder, and fatty tuna. All the fish were fresh and delicious, perfect with beer.
- The watercress salad had a slight bitterness that balanced well with other greens. It was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and tasty.
- The edamame was simply seasoned with just the right amount of salt and was delicious.
- The grilled eggplant was a bit small in portion but tasted good.
Overall, it was a cozy restaurant with a slightly retro atmosphere. They had a good selection of seafood dishes, which would please seafood lovers. I had a great time and would definitely visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly ended up drinking with two friends at a nostalgic izakaya that was also very trendy. The place was filled with Japanese sake, which made it hard to feel the atmosphere after a while. We just ended up getting drunk like a bunch of middle-aged men. However, I think it was quite nice and I am planning to visit again. (`・ω・´)ゞ

This week, despite working on a Sunday in a reckless manner, I finished work early. It was around 3 pm near Gotanda. I wandered around the love hotel district in Gotanda and found a restaurant called "Uoyado." It has a cool exterior that seems like it has been around for decades in Gotanda. Surprisingly, it is part of the Beetle group. The interior also has tatami seating, reminiscent of a traditional high-class Japanese restaurant. Without looking at the menu, I ordered a draft Sapporo Black beer. I also tried their signature dish, Hamaguri Nikogori, which is made with clam broth and agar to solidify the clam meat. After finishing the beer, I ordered a chilled barrel sake from Kikumasamune. The staff was young and explained other alcoholic beverages like beer and shochu, but I insisted on sake. I tried the Hiroshima Kame Reishu, a rich and bold dry sake. I then decided to order some fish dishes. Although not on the menu, they were able to serve me Tai Kabuto Nitsuke (simmered sea bream head) and Sawara Kabuto Yaki (grilled Spanish mackerel head). I also ordered fresh sliced squid sashimi. The squid sashimi was easy to eat with the tentacles still attached and finely sliced for convenience. The sea bream head was served with burdock root in a well-balanced seasoning that accentuated the flavor of the sea bream. The Spanish mackerel head had plenty of meat to enjoy. The broth from the sea bream was delicious, and I even sucked on the bones of the Spanish mackerel. Those of us born in the Showa era or who enjoy drinking sake even pick the garnishes like chrysanthemum or perilla leaves with the sashimi. When they tried to clear the dishes, I stopped them. The skills and atmosphere of the restaurant did not match the expectations of being part of the Beetle group. The quality of the food and the reasonable prices make it a great restaurant.

It's been a while since I visited Shinagawa before the pandemic. I wanted to go to Toyosu Market, so I arrived early in Shinagawa! When I asked for popular casual restaurants in Shinagawa, I was told about this place. There are entrances from two directions. The main seating areas are regular tables and raised tatami tables. The atmosphere has a nice traditional feel, but surprisingly there were many young businessmen, and it was very lively. Only the raised tatami tables were available, and as I'm not good at sitting cross-legged, I struggled a bit. A big bottle of Sapporo Red Star beer costs 620 yen here. The deep-fried fresh sardines are delicious. The deep-fried marinated chicken is also a common dish here. The beer goes down easily. They also offer deep-fried river shrimp and fresh fried horse mackerel. The prices are clear and it's an easy place to visit. Thank you for the meal.

A popular izakaya serving delicious sake and fresh fish. In addition to sashimi, their flavorful hot pot with tofu is a must-try, and their udon and mapo don are also delicious! The spacious interior has a typical izakaya atmosphere but is kept simple and clean, attracting many young female customers. A place worth visiting for sure.

At Gotanda Station, there is a restaurant where you can easily enjoy fish dishes and they are famous for their barrel sake. I always toast with sparkling wine, which goes really well with fish dishes. My friend ordered an apple sour which was refreshing and delicious. I usually don't mention prices, but I want to convey the affordability, so I have included them this time. The homemade apple sour is 550 yen, the daily sparkling wine is 640 yen, and the daily sashimi platter with 3 types of fish is 860 yen. The fish is delicious, as you can see from the freshness and thickness in the photo. The salted fish liver is 480 yen and it's a dish where you can enjoy the different flavors at different restaurants. The grilled oyster is 470 yen each and you can enjoy the juicy oyster along with the aroma of the sea. The beef harami skewer is 660 yen per skewer and the meat is very tender. The assorted seafood tempura is 970 yen and the contrast between the crispy coating and the fluffy fish inside is wonderful. The pickled long yam is 360 yen and it's a perfect palate cleanser. The sea bream rice bowl is 620 yen and it has a rich broth with plenty of sea bream. The meatball soup is 370 yen and it has a gentle broth with a nice texture of the meatballs. It was my first time here and I felt that it's a cozy place with friendly staff, so I think it's a great place to come alone or with friends. With good value for money, it's a place I would like to visit often.

The restaurant opens at 4 o'clock. By 5 o'clock, most of the seats are already taken in this popular spot. It has a wonderful Showa retro atmosphere. The taste is average, not extremely delicious nor bad. In terms of cost performance, it's not bad. It's a nice restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

My husband, who loves fish, often goes to a restaurant with his work colleagues, so I asked him to take me there. The restaurant is called Shinagawa Uoyado, but it's actually located in Gotanda. The menu changes depending on the day's catch, so it's best to choose from the recommended dishes on the whiteboard. The staff will give you various suggestions if you ask them. After some exercise, a beer is the best way to unwind – cheers! We tried the octopus sashimi from Hokkaido, which is usually served with salt, but this time it was served with sesame oil and salt in a Korean style twist, and the taste was excellent. The striped jack sashimi from Ehime was also a popular choice among everyone. You can choose between 3 or 5 pieces, which is great for small groups. Freshness is key for sashimi, and it was incredibly delicious. The swordfish nanban-zuke was a unique dish that we tried for the first time, and it was surprisingly tasty. My husband had another beer, while I tried the highball. The green onion with sesame oil was simple but delicious, with a Korean twist. A must-try is the raw horse mackerel fry, which is very popular and tends to sell out late in the evening. The meat was incredibly thick and fluffy. The salt-grilled saury recommended by the staff was a bit thin due to the poor catch this year, but the taste was still excellent. By the way, my husband eats fish very neatly. We had plenty of sake and the overflowed from the saucers. This restaurant seems to excel in Korean-style seasoning, so we also ordered the Kanjang Kejan, which was a bit sweet and salty – I wish it had been a bit spicier. The dashimaki tamago (with green onions) was fluffy and had a gentle taste, and it was evident that it was made with care. We had a blissful time indulging in various fish dishes – it was delicious. The total cost for two of us was around 8,500 yen. Please take me there again!
