In my memory, the restaurant was only open on weekday nights, so I thought it was as difficult to visit as winning a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. But when I looked at the Tabelog page, it said they are open on Sundays too. Seriously?! Let's go!! So on a Sunday night, I took the Seibu bus, Inokashira Line, and then the Denentoshi Line, and got off at Komazawa University Station, then walked another 15 minutes to reach the remote area where the restaurant was located. Sorry to the residents of Setagaya Ward ❤️ So, in the darkness, I found the restaurant with a line for takeout outside and only one customer inside. The social distancing was perfect with only two more customers coming in. I ordered the stew (regular size for 750 yen), rice (regular size for 200 yen), and pickles (150 yen). This restaurant only serves stew, and the basic menu is the regular size, so they serve it without asking. If you have any preferences for the amount of stew or rice, you can let them know. If you don't say anything, they will serve you the regular size stew and rice promptly. That's the system. I started eating, and it was delicious, really delicious! The tender beef tendon, bouncy konjac, and fluffy tofu were simmered in a rich miso-based broth, full of flavor that was addictive. The beef tendon had a texture and flavor similar to corned beef, which was interesting. I thought it was the perfect side dish for white rice. Before going to this restaurant, I wondered why they didn't have beer or sake, but I realized that the stew here is a dish meant to be enjoyed with white rice. Who needs alcohol when you have this delicious stew to go with rice? That's how I felt. I indulged in the tender stew, mixed it with white rice, nibbled on pickles in between, and surrendered to the blissful time. If this restaurant was nearby, I would definitely go there every day, three meals a day, 365 days a year. I promise this feeling will never waver until my grave!! Thank you for the meal.
