Today's lunch was Namura Udon with grated radish and soy sauce, along with a cold small vegetable salad. It's cheap, has a good nutritional balance, and is very filling. Most importantly, it's delicious! I used three coupons and paid only 410 yen. So satisfied!

I suddenly felt like eating udon, so I searched for nearby udon restaurants and found Hanamaru Udon and Marugame Seimen. I was craving the tempura bowl at Marugame Seimen, but they didn't open until 11:00 and I was too hungry to wait! So, I visited around 10:00 and there was only one customer in the restaurant. - Interior: The interior had a typical Hanamaru Udon vibe, with a counter and several table seats. - Order: Cold kake udon (large serving), chikuwa tempura, squid tempura. - Impression: It would have been great if they had cold udon, but I can't complain. Having cold broth poured over the noodles was very much appreciated. The noodles had a nice chewy texture and a flavorful wheat taste, and they tasted delicious with the cold broth.

This week is a week of restraining luxury. Today's lunch was at Hanamaru Udon. I had grated radish soy sauce udon (small), cold vegetable salad, without tempura flakes. I topped it with plenty of ginger and sesame. I used a coupon and it cost 410 yen. It's cheap, delicious, and well-balanced.

Today's lunch was once again at Hanamaru Udon. I ordered the ultimate healthy menu: Oroshi Shoyu Udon (small) and Salad Udon with Tempura and grated ginger. I sprinkled plenty of sesame seeds from the table onto the udon, added a dash of soy sauce, and drizzled sesame dressing over the salad. When eaten together, it was incredibly delicious. These two dishes for only 440 yen is almost too good to be true. Highly recommended!

I had the Torotama Bukkake Udon with Kakiage and Tempura at the nearby Hanamaru Udon today. I ordered too much because I was too hungry! Maybe I should have gone with a small size. But the Torotama and Tororo were delicious, and I enjoyed it until the end.

Salted pork and green onion udon. As someone who loves yuzu kosho, this udon is right up my alley. The combination of udon, pork belly, and yuzu kosho is fantastic. The softness of the udon, the richness of the pork, and the kick of the yuzu kosho create an amazing flavor experience. The portion sizes come in small, medium, and large, but if you have a small appetite, the small size should be enough.

Hanamaru Udon is located on the north side of the east exit of Asakusabashi Station. Typically, Hanamaru Udon in urban areas is located underground, probably due to lower rent costs. You usually have to go down a narrow staircase where people can barely pass each other to reach the restaurant. This Asakusabashi branch is exactly that type. I ordered the salad udon because I wanted to eat vegetables. Salad udon seems refreshing, but by adding free toppings such as tempura flakes, sesame seeds, ginger, wasabi, and chili peppers, it quickly transforms into a junky flavor. It was satisfying to eat quickly.

Located about a 1-minute walk from JR Asakusabashi Station East Exit. The restaurant is underground, which may make it a bit intimidating to enter, but it's always empty and very convenient. Opening hours are great - perfect for a late lunch before 3 pm on weekdays. Many places around close around 1:30 pm, but this place is always open. I ordered the Salted Pork and Leek Udon (small size for 520 yen). Hanamaru Udon is a self-service style where you can choose tempura, onigiri, and udon yourself. I usually go for the Salted Pork and Leek Udon, so I don't have to think too much (laughs). It comes with a small packet of yuzu pepper, which I usually put about half of it in. The udon is light, but with a good amount of fatty pork and plenty of leeks, it fills you up nicely. They have installed partitions that weren't there when I visited about six months ago. It seems like they are putting effort into infection prevention measures.

Recently, in terms of dieting, it's said that it's better to consume carbohydrates, but at least those with deep colors. I used to prefer soba over udon, but originally I was an udon fan. Udon and soba are like Japanese fast food, right? They are delicious, healthy, and satisfying. Wait, is healthy just an image? Anyway, they can be enjoyed hot or cold, and if you're still hungry, fried food goes well with them. It's really amazing. It's so delicious when you have it once in a while. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Yesterday's brunch was at Hanamaru Udon, where I had a great deal. I slept in and woke up around 10 am, arriving at the restaurant around 11 am. My goal was to take advantage of the PayPay coupon (10% cashback) valid until the end of February, and to try the limited-time hamaguri udon (photo 1), as well as add curry to my meal for an extra treat. The regular price for a small hamaguri udon is ¥590 (excluding tax), and curry is ¥350 (excluding tax). By ordering them as a set, I saved ¥100. After tax, it came to ¥924. With the 92 points cashback, I ended up paying only ¥832, which is a significant discount from the regular price of ¥1,034. The hamaguri udon was delicious and satisfying, with a distinct flavor that sets it apart from other shellfish. I find hamaguri easier to eat compared to smaller clams like shijimi. Overall, it was a great start to my day, enjoying a brunch that served as both breakfast and lunch. It was a happy Sunday.

The other day, I had lunch and dinner combined at Hanamaru Udon and got a good deal. There were two ways to save money: 1) Using the Tempura Pass (photo 1) 2) Using the PayPay campaign. The Tempura Pass cost 300 yen and allowed for free Tempura with any Udon order during the promotional period. The expiration date was extended due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (photo 2). I ordered the "Beef Onsen Tamago Bukkake Udon (medium)" for 560 yen before tax. With the Tempura Pass (300 yen) and PayPay campaign points back of 236 points, the total came to 946 yen after tax. After receiving the points back, the actual cost was 710 yen. The food was delicious and consistent as it is a chain restaurant. A little tip: there are two types of Tempura available - regular Tempura and Tempura with ingredients like shrimp-like Tempura. This was my first time seeing this kind of Tempura. The restaurant was almost empty around 4 pm due to the COVID-19 situation, making it a comfortable dining experience with only three customers including myself. I enjoyed the Croquette Tempura that day and plan to visit again to enjoy more delicious meals and make the most of the savings. Thank you for the meal and the great service.

Upon exiting Asakusabashi Station's east exit and turning left, you'll find Hanamaru Udon, which opened in July 2018 below Burger King. I tried the Cold Fuwa-Tama Salad Udon Small (490 yen). You can choose between "Roasted Sesame" or "Ginger and Onion" dressing, and I chose the roasted sesame. The dish includes sunny lettuce, shredded carrots, sliced okra, daikon radish, fried burdock, and scrambled egg. It's packed with vegetables and feels healthy. The udon has a nice chewy texture that pairs well with the dish. I enjoyed it.

I went to Hanamaru Udon for lunch and had zaru udon, inari sushi, and imo tempura. It was surprising to see several groups of high school girls as customers.

Today's lunch price may have gone up, but fear not, for the friend of the common people is Namaru Udon. For just 440 yen, you can enjoy grated radish soy sauce udon and a side vegetable salad. It's delicious, healthy, and the ultimate menu in my opinion. (´ω`っ )3

Karaage, chikuwa tempura, squid tempura, and kake udon. Just 700 yen. The broth and noodles are consistently delicious. The tempura batter is well-seasoned and tasty. 6 out of 6, highly recommended.

Today I had kitsune udon. Actually, there might be too much kitsune udon. The sweet flavor is well infused and delicious.

I visited the restaurant because they were offering a limited-time pork miso udon. The miso was rich and flavorful, just the way I like it. I think during times like this, softer udon noodles are better.
