I was taken to a mysterious restaurant called "Wa China" in Roppongi by a friend. It's a small restaurant with only about three table seats, and the owner runs the place alone. The popular owner is very friendly and makes you feel happy as soon as you sit down. We started with a rare sparkling wine mini bottle (250ml) instead of a glass of wine. The menu changes depending on the season and the budget, with the chef creating an original course based on that. We had dishes like Chinese-style sashimi salad, shark fin and mushroom steamed soup, black wagyu steak, and more. Each dish was a surprise and a delight. The meal ended with a warm almond tea with white rice dumplings. Every dish was delicious and surprising, showcasing the chef's expertise in Chinese cuisine with a touch of Japanese influence.

I ordered an appetizer that used yogurt, which was said to be unique. The dish arrived with steamed chicken and shredded vegetables on top, and I was told to mix it all together before eating. The sauce included soy sauce, which made the yogurt flavor disappear, and it was really delicious! I also enjoyed the other dishes.

About a 10-minute walk from Roppongi Station Exit 3, you'll find the Chinese restaurant, WaChina Roppongi. I recommend ordering the Pork Fillet Sweet and Sour Pork Lunch. It comes with miso soup, side dishes, pickles, and dessert, making it a great value. The authentic flavors are seriously delicious. When I talked to the owner, I found out they used to be the head chef at a famous hotel. The taste is top-notch, not just the sweet and sour pork, but also the salad and miso soup. I'll definitely be back!

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. It is run by a Japanese man alone. They have a variety of Chinese dishes with a slight Japanese twist. I ordered cold dishes, dumplings, shrimp chili, sweet and sour pork, chicken and cashew nuts stir-fry, and mapo tofu, and everything was delicious. The ingredients and flavors were great, and the gentleman's service was polite and lovely. I would like to visit again.

All the dishes were delicious, with a good balance of Chinese flavors and Japanese preferences. The restaurant seemed to be run by one person, or perhaps it was just a quiet day when I visited, but the service was friendly and the overall experience was lovely.

I visited a interesting restaurant with a nice atmosphere. They had a lunch menu where you could choose from 5 options. I ordered the shrimp chili (tax included 1250 yen). It came with rice, shrimp chili, jellyfish salad, miso soup, pickles, and later a dessert. I was amazed by the texture of the jellyfish, it was really crunchy. I love jellyfish but I've never had one like this before. I learned that there are differences in quality even with jellyfish. The shrimp chili was great, the shrimp were big and juicy. There were 6 shrimp in total. The miso soup was delicious, it had a bonito flavor and the pork added a nice touch. The atmosphere created by the staff was also very pleasant. They had a kind and calming presence. Overall, everything was of high quality and I left satisfied!

It's a Chinese restaurant run by a Japanese middle-aged man. It feels a bit different from traditional Chinese cuisine, more like a fusion of Japanese and Chinese flavors. The food is delicious. Lunch prices were more reasonable, but dinner prices are a bit high. Still, it's worth it for the taste.

Recommended and visited Wa China Roppongi. It is a restaurant run by an elderly chef. Despite the name, I expected it to be more of a dining spot for younger people, but it turned out to be a sophisticated Chinese restaurant where adults gather. Everything was delicious.・Steamed chicken with yogurt sauce・Scallop and clam white miso sauce・Stir-fried shrimp, squid, and scallops・Mapo tofu・Xiaolongbao・Stir-fried shrimp with mayonnaise

Visited on Saturday at 12 pm. Located along the Loop 2 road towards Azabu-Juban from Roppongi Hills, on the opposite side of the road from Rinkos. The interior of the restaurant has a cozy Japanese atmosphere with a mix of Chinese decorations. There are 2 tables, 6 seats, 4 semi-private seats, and a 4-seat counter. The owner manages the place alone, and there were no other customers during our visit. The lunch menu includes 4 set meals, 4 hot pot dishes, and 1 fried rice dish, all priced in the low 1000 yen range. We ordered the Seafood Yakisoba in Hot Pot with Thick Sauce for 1400 yen and the Spicy Shrimp Chili Set Meal for 1250 yen. The Seafood Yakisoba in Hot Pot was served piping hot in a pot, filled with plenty of vegetables, large shrimp, and squid. The thick and elegant salty sauce had a rich umami flavor that paired perfectly with the crunchy vegetables and juicy seafood. The crispy burnt edges of the soba in the pot added a delicious aroma. Adding vinegar provided a refreshing twist to the dish. The Spicy Shrimp Chili Set Meal also impressed with its large shrimp and flavorful chili sauce. The fluffy egg mixed with the slightly spicy sauce complemented the juicy shrimp perfectly. The side dish of simmered pork and the flavorful miso soup were also delightful. Even the almond jelly dessert was well-prepared. The attentive and warm service of the owner added to the overall experience. Discovering a delicious and welcoming restaurant like this is truly a joy, making me eager to revisit soon.

I revisited the restaurant because the lunch was delicious and I wanted to try the dinner course as well. The location is between Azabu-Juban Station and Roppongi Station, and I think it's easier to get there from Azabu-Juban. The dishes are all easy to eat with gentle flavors that make you want to keep eating. The owner manages the restaurant alone, but the timing of the service is good and you won't have to wait long for your drinks. The cozy atmosphere of the small restaurant may be influenced by other customers, but it's perfect for when you want to enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine in a relaxed setting.

After returning from the summer festival at Roppongi Hills, I had a meal of summer Chinese cuisine. It is conveniently located near the Maori Garden. The closest station would probably be Azabu-Juban. It's about a 6-7 minute walk down the Imoarai-zaka from Roppongi. The restaurant has a semi-basement atmosphere, with the chef running the show alone. I had reserved an 8000 yen course. Despite the restaurant's name having a touch of Japanese, the dishes were a mix of both Chinese and Japanese influences, showcasing the chef's creative skills. The chef's precise cooking and plating, done with a sense of enjoyment even amidst the busyness, were impressive. The menu changes with the seasons. The assorted appetizers included soft and delicious shiitake mushrooms with white miso, surprising grapefruit-infused jellyfish, a refreshing clam soup with a Japanese-Chinese twist, and tender cuttlefish stir-fried with ethnic spices. The wagyu beef stew was incredibly tender, with the sauce perfectly balancing sweetness and saltiness. The chef, specializing in Shanghai cuisine, truly outdid himself. We were also treated to a delicious shrimp chili dish upon request, with large shrimp and crispy golden eye fish with a special sauce. The nostalgic sweet potato candy dessert, limited to 3 servings per day, was a perfect ending to the meal. This is a place to visit when you have time to spare and want to enjoy a leisurely meal. I was impressed by the unique and flavorful dishes at Wachaina and would definitely like to visit again!

I have always felt the high affinity between Japanese and Chinese cuisine, whether it's ramen, fried rice, or the shared culture of soy sauce. Chinese cuisine is very easy for Japanese people to accept as a menu, and whenever I miss Japanese food while traveling abroad, I always head to a Chinese restaurant without hesitation. Unlike mediocre Japanese food, Chinese cuisine never disappoints no matter which country you are in. The ability of Chinese cuisine to transform local ingredients is the best, making it a perfect comforting place in a foreign land. However, the unique spices like star anise and coriander may be different from Japanese culture, and some people may have an aversion to them. Amidst this, there is "Wa China" in Roppongi. I heard rumors from friends and couldn't resist making a reservation. As I progressed from the appetizers, I was unexpectedly confronted with surprises and delights that hit the back of my head. The use of coriander and trefoil, the delicate taste of beef stew with a hint of black vinegar and star anise that is tailored to Japanese taste, and using white miso instead of sweet bean sauce... I was amazed. The core of Chinese cuisine remains unchanged while each dish hides a fascinating trick that tickles the Japanese palate and soul. The exquisite arrangements. Normally, star anise would boldly assert itself here in Chinese cuisine, but here it's like, "What is this? I want to eat white rice." Even if you order a course, you will definitely want a bowl of white rice. I managed to resist until the shrimp chili, but I couldn't help myself anymore with the simmered shin meat. Delicious, delicious, everything is delicious. The owner has experience in Shanghai cuisine and Sichuan cuisine, even entrusted as the head chef of a hotel's Chinese restaurant, and seems to be constantly challenging himself to elevate the taste to something new without imposing tradition. By combining Chinese cuisine with a Japanese taste, the range of options expands, and new menus are constantly being created, so what you eat today may not be available tomorrow. I was impressed. My friend said the miso soup for lunch is also excellent. Alright, next time I'll join for lunch! It was delicious.

I love Chinese food! For my last flight request, I chose Hong Kong, haha. A friend who also loves Chinese cuisine recommended a wonderful restaurant to me. It's called "Wa China" and it's located between Roppongi and Azabu-Juban, closer to Azabu-Juban. It's easy to overlook as it's located in the basement of Iwasaki Cleaning. My friend is a regular here and she says that every time she visits, she gets to try different dishes. It's truly a unique experience! The owner chef, who used to be a head chef at a prestigious hotel, runs this cozy restaurant all by himself. While I love classic Chinese dishes, I also enjoy creative Chinese cuisine a lot! This time, I decided to leave it to the chef with a budget of 8,000 yen per person. To cool down the sweat, I started with a cold beer. The first dish served was an assorted appetizer platter. The jellyfish fruit salad was a refreshing surprise with its crispy jellyfish texture. The angel prawn in tomato sauce was so succulent that it might be even better than sashimi! The smoked tuna was a delightful twist. The shishito pepper in pickled sauce was light and refreshing. The baby abalone in white miso was a taste of Japanese influence. The clam soup with wakame was rich in flavor and the enoki mushroom added a nice touch. The ethnic powder stir-fried firefly squid was my favorite dish of the day. The breadcrumbs added a spicy kick to the dish. The texture of the yam and eryngii mushrooms with a punchy seasoning was outstanding! I couldn't resist ordering another beer. The chili sauce prawns were a classic dish but the balance of spiciness and the succulent prawns were simply amazing. The simmered Japanese beef shank was shiny and appetizing. It was tender and flavorful. The daily catch deep-fried with special sauce was a dish with a strong impact. The high-quality kinmedai fish was deep-fried to perfection. The cold noodles with red core radish were refreshing and visually appealing. The sweet potato candy was a dessert with a gentle sweetness. It combined the best of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I can't wait to go back and see what's next on the menu! I immediately messaged my friend who lives nearby. Let's go together next time!! Inside the paprika is a popular Chinese dish, garnished with finely chopped bell peppers. The delicate cutting of vegetables and the excellent compatibility with the popular dish make it a staple menu item at the restaurant. The article provides a detailed account of the dining experience at the restaurant, including the Summer Course menu and additional orders of dim sum and drinks. Various dishes were enjoyed, such as the appetizers, soup, main courses, and dim sum. The review highlights the high quality of ingredients, skillful preparation, and impeccable presentation of the dishes. Overall, the dining experience was delightful, with each dish showcasing the chef's expertise and creativity.

A few minutes' walk from Toriizaka down to Roppongi Hills direction. A Chinese restaurant located in the same building as "Niku to Spice JINDARI" and "Buta Tatsu". The official website of Tabelog states that they only operate with a limit of 3 groups per day, which gives a sense of philosophy. The compact restaurant has about 15 seats, with only a few tables. The chef handles everything alone, so there may be some waiting time. The chef's precision is evident as even though it was half full that day, he turned away customers claiming it was fully booked. A display of true professionalism. I ordered the "Domestic Pork Fillet Sweet and Sour Pork Set" for 1,250 yen. From the open kitchen, I could see the chef vigorously shaking the wok, making it already look delicious. The side dish of jellyfish in vinegar was impressive with its crunchy texture and the flavorful sauce with plenty of green onions and refreshing cucumbers. The portion was generous. The miso soup was exceptionally delicious, reminiscent of a rich seafood ramen broth with large chunks of ingredients providing a satisfying meal. The main dish, sweet and sour pork, had a classic taste that was simple yet appetizing with a tangy sauce. I would have preferred a bit more pork in it. The rice was typical of a Chinese restaurant set meal, but the variety of side dishes made the meal very filling. The pickles were likely homemade and had a strong acidity that was delicious. The dessert was also served in a decent portion, with a fragrant almond tofu pudding that had a nice fruit accent. It was a very satisfying lunch. I regret not discovering this place sooner, as I felt completely satisfied with the meal. The homemade sesame sauce for the tantanmen uses Kyoto white miso, Japanese mustard, wasabi, and yogurt, which sounds very intriguing. They seem to welcome private parties in the evening, so I might consider hosting a casual party there next time.

Last time, the savory "Stir-fried Shrimp and Squid" was so delicious that today I tried the "Seafood Ankake Yakisoba". You can choose between yakisoba, rice, or okoge with the ankake sauce. Served in a hot pot with miso soup, the "Seafood Ankake Yakisoba" may seem lacking in volume and extravagance at first glance, but don't be fooled. The plump shrimp, tender squid, sweet small fish, and a variety of vegetables provided a rich texture and flavor. The noodles were both crispy and chewy, perfectly coated in the flavorful ankake sauce that kept everything hot. The dessert, almond jelly, was elegant and delicious. The chef's meticulous work was evident in every detail. It was a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

Blog: Hangover Meal at "和チャイナ" in Roppongi
Instagram: @wachina_roppongi
Located in the direction of Azabu-Juban from TV Asahi in Roppongi is a small restaurant called "和チャイナ" with a cute pink sign like a stamp. This cozy underground restaurant has only about three 4-person tables, so it's recommended to arrive early as once three groups are seated, the place is full.
For lunch, their famous dish is the clay pot rice. I decided to try the Mapo Tofu Rice. Served piping hot, the Mapo Tofu was flavorful and not too spicy, perfect with the crispy rice stuck to the pot. You can add more Sichuan pepper if you like. The dish also comes with delicious miso soup and even a dessert, all for less than 1,000 yen.
The open kitchen allows you to see the master chef preparing the dishes, but keep in mind that since he's the only one working, it might take some time when the restaurant is busy. So, it's best to visit when you have time to relax and enjoy the meal.

This is a restaurant that my friend recommended as delicious, and I have been coming here ever since. Whenever I want to enjoy casual Chinese food, I always choose Wa-China. Everything here is delicious. It feels like a fusion of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. It's like creative Chinese cuisine. They also offer omakase courses that are very satisfying. I think it's a place where you can come without feeling too formal. Thank you always for the great food!

If you walk from TV Asahi towards Azabu-Juban, you will find a cute sign around the middle of the way to Torii-zaka. Upon visiting the restaurant with a friend, we discovered that the chef, Mr. Niimi, who used to work at a hotel, had opened the restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with 16 seats. The chef has an impressive repertoire of 500 dishes, showcasing a rich variety of Chinese cuisine. The chef personally oversees everything, offering attentive hospitality. We started with a Highball and tried the "Premium Jellyfish with Sesame Sauce," which had a unique crunchy texture. The "Shrimp Wonton Soup" was clear and flavorful, with a surprise addition of red beans in the wonton. The "Fried Chicken with String Beans" had a mellow flavor, and the colorful vegetables were perfectly cooked. The "Hiroshima Oyster Wrapped in Meat with Sweet Vinegar Sauce" was beautifully presented and had a harmonious taste. The "Steamed Flounder with Hot Oil" was tender and flavorful, with a nice touch of red vinegar and ginger. We also ordered the delicious steamed dumplings, which came with a unique red vinegar and ginger sauce. The "Char Siu Egg Fried Rice" was light and fluffy, with a hint of sweetness from the onions. For dessert, we enjoyed the almond jelly with fruits, including a large blackberry that caught our attention. The restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine with a gentle and warm touch, making it a place worth revisiting.

Located on the way down Keyaki-zaka in Roppongi towards Azabu-Juban Station is "Wa China Roppongi." I was excited to try it as they use ingredients familiar to Japanese people. On this day, I ordered the chef's special a la carte menu, which consisted of 7 dishes:
- Colorful vegetables and chicken roast in Beijing duck style
- Shrimp dumplings and pumpkin in white miso soup
- Sichuan-style spicy stir-fried oysters
- Braised wagyu beef shank with nanohana (rape blossoms)
- Braised mixed vegetables and dried scallops
- Spicy mapo tofu over rice
- Today's dessert
The colorful vegetables and chicken roast in Beijing duck style was delicious, with a thin layer of yam-filled dough wrapped around plenty of vegetables and meat, drizzled with sauce. The shrimp dumplings and pumpkin in white miso soup had a rich flavor, with the dumplings bursting with shrimp flavor. The Sichuan-style spicy stir-fried oysters had a perfect balance of spiciness and oyster flavor, making it a great dish to enjoy with beer. The braised wagyu beef shank was incredibly tender, packed with meaty goodness. The braised mixed vegetables and dried scallops were light yet satisfying. The spicy mapo tofu over rice had a strong kick for those who love spicy food. The dessert, made from a plant called "sengoku," was a refreshing jelly with a moderate sweetness.
The course cost 5000 yen but was very filling and satisfying. This restaurant is perfect for when you want to eat a lot!
