I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. The large counter on the first floor was almost full. I sat down and ordered the most popular dish, the salmon belly dried fish set meal. I sipped on the water from the pot on the table while waiting, and in less than 10 minutes, the food arrived. The salmon belly was big. The miso soup came in a large bowl but had only a little seaweed. The rice was cooked perfectly, with each grain standing out and tasting delicious. The pickles were also quite small. The salmon belly had a lot of fat, but it was cooked just right, not too raw or overcooked. The flavor was a bit light, so I added soy sauce, but the fat made it slide off. I ended up dipping it in grated daikon radish to eat. It was great to have well-cooked fish. It was a simple lunch. I'm curious about trying other grilled fish dishes.

Salmon grilled set meal is not particularly delicious or bad. It's a shame that the salmon was burnt. The service from the staff was terrible, with no greetings like "welcome" or "thank you." I probably won't come back.

I was left alone at the last minute for a meal with friends, so I found myself at Shinpachi Shokudo. It's a popular place that you see around a lot these days, even in Kansai. They offer a miracle deal with a 150 yen Asahi beer in a medium-sized glass, which is reminiscent of the deflation era in Japan. After some deliberation, I decided on the seasonal fish "Grilled Silver Hirasu Set Meal", which had a rich and delicious grilled flavor that made it very appetizing. You can also choose brown rice, but I found it a bit watery. The beer arrived in a chilled glass, making it a perfect meal for dining alone. The only downside is that the seating is quite cramped and uncomfortable. However, if you see it as part of the experience, it's not a big deal. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a meal and a drink alone, and this place is perfect for that.

It was so hot that I couldn't decide what to eat, so I decided to try a set meal restaurant! They had not only fish but also meat set meals. The side dishes like cold tofu and green beans with sesame dressing were only 50 yen each, which was a great deal. Also, those who ordered a set meal got a discount on draft beer.

I found a place near Shinjuku Station where I could satisfy my craving for grilled fish set meals. I liked it enough to go there three times recently. Each time, I ordered the mackerel set meal. It's easy to dine alone there, and the turnover is quick so even when it's busy, you don't have to wait long. If I feel like having a grilled fish set meal again, I'll definitely go back to this place.

I decided to have breakfast in Shinjuku on my day off. Feeling like having Japanese food, I chose to try Shinpachi Shokudo this time. I had passed by the restaurant a few times and was waiting for the opportunity to go. Shinpachi Shokudo is located a little past Yodobashi Camera at the Shinjuku West Exit. It's about a 5-minute walk from the Odakyu ticket gate. I arrived at the restaurant just as it was opening. The interior has a U-shaped counter seating. After us, about 10 customers arrived, with half of them being foreigners. It seems like a good place for foreigners to enjoy Japanese food. The staff is managing the place alone. Let's order using the tablet at our seats. I ordered the Grilled Salmon with Salt Set Meal (regular rice) and a raw egg, while my partner ordered the Morning Mackerel Set Meal with half portion rice, Green Bean Sesame Salad, and Daikon Kimpira on the side. The food arrived quite quickly. The Grilled Salmon with Salt Set Meal is not a breakfast menu item, but it was just right for breakfast. The salmon was a bit small, but it was delicious with the right amount of salt. I enjoyed it with the egg over rice. My partner's breakfast menu item was reasonably priced. Even with some side dishes added, the price didn't change much. It's a cheap and delicious breakfast. I felt energized with a delicious Japanese breakfast to start the day. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for lunch for the first time. They don't really have the concept of lunch here, haha. I got the rice with extra fish roe set and seaweed for 1111 yen including tax. There were many appealing fish options, but I chose the herring, which I don't usually eat. It was served quickly and cooked thoroughly, very delicious. And have you ever seen a place that serves seaweed on a small plate? It was cut into large pieces, satisfying to eat, and surprisingly good quality for 80 yen! Next time, I want to try the classic mackerel or salmon!

Lunch on 04/17 at Shinpachi Shokudo Seibu Shinjuku store. Ordered the Salmon Harasu dried fish set for 891 yen, paid in cash. The taste, service, and portion size were all good. You order using a touch panel for quick service, but the grilling takes some time so the overall speed of service is a bit slow. The prices are a bit high, but if they were more affordable it would be perfect.

I ordered a simple and satisfying set meal that I could easily enjoy alone, and was happy to find that beer was only 150 yen. There were no other alcohol options available. This time, I had the ginger pork set meal with a small portion of rice, negitoro, eggplant, and two beers. I was very satisfied. Last time, I tried the most popular set meal, but I didn't really understand it, so I was happy with the easy-to-understand ginger pork set meal this time. I promised myself to try the miso simmered mackerel set meal next time as I left the restaurant.

I wanted to eat a healthy fish set meal after eating out for a while, so I visited the restaurant at 6:00 pm on a weekday. Located in Shinjuku, the restaurant quickly filled up with customers. There were only two staff members, and the style of slowly grilling the fish meant that turnover was not very fast.
- Ordered: Thick-cut salmon set meal for 968 yen
- Green beans for 55 yen
- Cold tofu for 55 yen
The salmon was grilled over charcoal, giving it a deliciously crispy and flavorful taste that you can't achieve at home. The variety of side dishes was also plentiful, and despite being cheap, the portion sizes were generous, leaving me satisfied. Another plus point was being able to mix and match different side dishes.
Regarding payment, the menu prices are detailed to the nearest yen, so it seems that cash payment is preferred.

I went to Shinpachi Shokudo in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This restaurant offers a variety of charcoal-grilled fish set meals. I had the thick-cut grilled silver salmon set meal. The silver salmon was large and satisfying to eat. The miso soup was also generous in portion. All of this for under 1,000 yen is quite reasonable.

On this day, I was brainwashed by a YouTuber who loves IKEA and ended up going to IKEA. IKEA is known for its Swedish cafeteria, but the one in Shinjuku only had a small standing-style setup, so I didn't go in. Instead, I went to Sanma to Shinpachi Shokudo, which seemed healthier! I ordered the grilled saury set meal with brown rice and green beans on the side. It came with grated daikon radish and pickles, a pure Japanese-style meal! I arrived before 3 o'clock, but there was already a line, so I had to wait. It's very popular!! It's crowded on weekends, isn't it? The saury was soft and easy to eat, and the brown rice was like mochi rice. It was so delicious! The miso soup was made with white miso, which I like! The prices were cheap, and you order using a touch panel and pay quickly with the QR code at the counter! It was fun to visit Shinjuku after a long time. If I come to IKEA again and can't go to the Swedish cafeteria, I would like to stop by here. It's recommended even for people with fatty liver haha.

Second visit. Last time I had the grilled silver salmon set, so this time I tried this one. Is it thicker than before...? I don't remember the thickness from last time, but there were two pieces, so if it's the same price, the last time was a better deal maybe, thinking such cheap thoughts. The fat was just right, the skin was crispy, and it was delicious. It was nice to have the green bean sesame salad with less rice. The miso soup wasn't too salty, which was good for me, as I'm conscious of salt intake. It's easy to go alone, but at the same time, it's not the kind of place for chatting with friends. You eat quietly and then leave quickly, like a ramen shop.

Today, I had lunch at "Shinpachi Shokudo" for the first time this year. I decided to try a new side menu item (Negitoro) along with my meal. I ordered the Mackerel Sun-Dried Set Meal with a half serving of rice, special Negitoro, and cold tofu for a total of ¥891 + ¥99 + ¥55. The timing of the dishes being served was a bit off, possibly due to a communication issue between the touch panel and the kitchen. Despite the slight confusion, the special Negitoro was a nice upgrade and added a great touch to the meal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I decided to go for a healthy option and try out "Shinpachi Shokudo," a restaurant I've been curious about. I ordered the Salmon Harasu set meal, which was delicious but quite fatty. I finished it all, but the fat got to me and I ended up drinking some Solmac (bottled drink) afterwards. The rice was a bit dry and the miso soup could have been better, but overall, it was a good deal at 1,111 yen with natto and egg on top. Plus, the beer was only 150 yen per glass, which is amazing even though I don't drink. Next time, I'll go for a fish dish with less fat.

I tried a chain restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. It was easy to choose my order with the touch panel system, so I felt relaxed. I ordered the red snapper kasuzuke set meal and also a side menu item (50 yen each). The food was served in about 5 minutes after ordering. I was surprised by how delicious the fish was. It was plump and juicy, and I was a little impressed that I could eat such high-quality fish at a chain restaurant. The rice was also delicious. The miso soup and side menu were not very tasty, but if I want to eat delicious fish, I would consider coming back. There is no background music in the store, so it feels a bit quiet, and some people may feel slightly uncomfortable.

I went to this restaurant for the first time and liked it, so I went back three times in the past month. On my second visit, I ordered the popular mackerel dish, and on my third visit, I tried the second most popular salmon belly set. Unfortunately, the salmon belly set was a disappointment as it was mostly fatty and lacked the actual fish meat. I also noticed that there were many foreign customers at the restaurant, so promoting a dish like the salmon belly set, which may not be suitable for them, could give a wrong impression about Japanese fish dishes. I hope they stop recommending the salmon belly set.

The mackerel culture dried set meal, with an additional order of two side dishes, was only 1100 yen. The taste and cost performance at this fish set meal restaurant were excellent. For me, who has been eating a lot of oily food recently, it was a lunch that felt good for my body. All orders were taken at the counter using an electronic touch panel. Payment was made with PayPay or cash, with the style being to prepare the payment after eating and then settle the bill. I will come back when I have business in Shinjuku. Thank you for the meal.
