From the first visit, there was a feeling that the compatibility was not great, so I didn't really visit the Akebonobashi store of Famima nearby. On this day, I needed to go to the bank ATM in a hurry, so I had no choice but to go there. The banking industry has been suffering from the recession lately, and many ATMs and branches of MyBank that used to be nearby have decreased significantly, making it quite inconvenient. Now, on this day, I bought two new items that I hadn't tried yet at the bakery corner:
- New release: Bacon and Egg Panini for 150 yen (tax included). It's a flat and elongated bread topped with cheese, filled with bacon and egg filling. The taste is okay, but the filling feels thin and kind of sad. I didn't really know what a "panini" was, so I looked it up after eating it. In Italian, it means "sandwich." Looking at the pictures, there are various types of bread such as baguettes or toast with plenty of filling, so it doesn't seem like it has to be this flat and thin. Naming this kind of sandwich "panini" might upset the Italians.
- New release: Pie Scone with Raisins for 138 yen (tax included). It's a scone with rum-soaked raisins and whole wheat flour, topped with granulated sugar. They claim to achieve a flaky texture similar to pie crust by folding in fat, but the one I tried was just a dense and heavy scone. It's a bit too big, and I got tired of eating it halfway through.

Today, I didn't have much time, so I quickly stopped by here. I used a free coupon for Famikoro (beef croquette) that was just sent out through an app under the title "Tokyo Limited! Dinner Support Coupon," and a 100 yen discount coupon for onigiri that I got by collecting 10 stamps from previous purchases on the app. As usual, the small store had unfriendly service with no smiles. I first got a large salmon belly onigiri at the onigiri corner, and I also noticed a yuzu inari sushi that I had never seen at other FamilyMart stores before, so I added that to my basket. Lastly, at the sandwich corner, I picked up a whole wheat sandwich with salad chicken and egg, which has become quite popular recently, and headed to the register. After paying and receiving the receipt, I saw that I also received a 30 yen discount coupon for fried foods, yakitori, and side dishes for my next visit. With app coupons and receipt coupons like this, I can't help but want to come back and use them again. FamilyMart is quite savvy in their business. Now, back at my workplace, I had the following four items for lunch:
- Famikoro (beef croquette) 80 yen (tax included) → free
- Large salmon belly onigiri 198 yen → 98 yen (tax included)
- Yuzu inari sushi 130 yen (tax included)
- Whole wheat sandwich with salad chicken and egg 321 yen (tax included)
The beef croquette, despite not tasting much like beef, was still delicious and worth buying even at 80 yen. The large salmon belly onigiri had a satisfying amount of grilled salmon belly inside. The yuzu inari sushi had a subtle yuzu flavor at first but was otherwise a decent inari sushi. The whole wheat sandwich with salad chicken and egg, although slightly pricier, had a higher quality taste and volume. The thick salad chicken with yuzu pepper seasoning was particularly delicious.

The other day when I was feeling hungry and contemplating at the convenience store, I came across a new item called "Yakitori Fusode" in the hot snack corner! I decided to purchase it! It was very tender and the sweetness of the sauce matched well, it was delicious! I will definitely buy it again!

Today, I went to Ramen Kobayashi in Niigata and felt like I consumed too much salt, so on my way back, I happened to pass by this place and bought some high lycopene acid tomato juice, known for its blood pressure prevention effects, and a Five Mini which I got a free coupon for through the Famipay app. While walking around the store, I noticed that the area under the refrigerated shelf where jellies and yogurts were displayed was flooded. When I mentioned this to the cashier lady with a preface of "I'm sorry for meddling, but...", she and her Southeast Asian colleague were too busy to care, with a reaction of "So what?". Sorry for meddling unnecessarily! Now back home, I quickly drank the tomato juice and the Five Mini. I often buy and drink this tomato juice so I don't have any particular thoughts on it, but it's been a while since I had a Five Mini. I wouldn't buy it if I didn't receive a free coupon. Maybe it's good for the stomach because it contains dietary fiber? I've been a little constipated recently, so I hope to see some effects from it.

After eating beef bone noodles at Menya Nishikawa, I stopped by here near the Akebonobashi intersection on Yasukuni Street. Looking at the map, just like Ichigaya, there are convenience stores everywhere around here. The other day, for a limited time of 4 days, they were distributing free coupons for Famichiki if you applied after 12:00 and used Famipay. On the first day, it seemed quite crowded with entries, so I couldn't get through, but just like applying for Tokyo Olympic tickets, if you shift the date and time, it's no problem. I easily got it on the third day in the early afternoon. Actually, as a self-proclaimed KFC lover, I often used FamilyMart, but this was my first time trying Famichiki. When I tried it, both the outer coating and the inner meat were tender, and it didn't dry out like some other chicken. Even at the regular price of 180 yen per piece, it's much cheaper than KFC's boneless chicken at 250 yen. Of course, the sizes are slightly different, and it doesn't have the original spice seasoning like KFC, but it seems useful for situations where you want to eat chicken but don't want to go all the way to KFC.
