After leaving the Gion Nishi store and taking a taxi to meet a friend at a sushi restaurant, I happened to see a quaint shop on the way. The shop had a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, and when I glanced inside, I saw piles of rice crackers! As a fan of rice crackers, I couldn't resist and was drawn into the shop. There were various types to choose from, but I ended up getting three bags. One was a small round wheat cracker with a subtly sweet flavor, similar to the simple taste of the popular "mineral spring senbei" often found in hot spring resorts. It was small and light, making it easy to reach for another one. The second one had a slightly fluffy texture with a gentle soy sauce aroma, also light and easy to snack on. The third bag contained broken pieces of large hand-baked senbei, a great deal from a shop in Saitama Prefecture. I enjoyed munching on them. Since I had dinner with my friend later, I only bought three bags this time to avoid carrying too much, but I would love to stop by again and try different types of rice crackers when I visit the area next time. Thank you for the treat!

I happened to pass by and couldn't help but step inside. It has a nostalgic feel of an old-fashioned candy store. They have a variety of snacks like rice crackers, nori snacks, and assorted senbei. This time, I bought nori rice crackers, natto rolls, and a mix of senbei. When you make a purchase, the staff will calculate the total using an abacus. It gives you a warm and cozy feeling. They have a lot of traditional snacks that brought back memories. I love rice crackers, so I had a hard time deciding which ones to buy. The nori senbei had a simple and delicious taste. They come from different regions, so I recommend checking the back of the package before buying. They even had snacks from Kyoto and other places!
