This time, I had a gourmet experience at "Pizzeria 1830 Tama Minamiosawa" located about a 3-minute walk from Minami-Osawa Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line, within the premises of Mitsui Outlet Park Tama Minamiosawa. This Italian bar-style pizzeria offers authentic pizzas, as well as pasta and appetizers. Pets are allowed only on the terrace seating.
The name "1830" comes from the fact that in the year 1830, the world's first pizzeria was said to have opened in Naples, southern Italy. In addition to this location, there are also branches at "Ami Premium Outlets" and "Shinagawa Prince Hotel," all of which are said to continue the spirit of the now-closed original store, Nogizaka branch (closed in April 2014), offering carefully crafted pizzas.
Parking at Mitsui Outlet Park Tama Minamiosawa costs 200 yen for 30 minutes, but if you spend a total of 2,000 yen (including tax), you can park for free for up to 2 hours, and if you spend a total of 3,000 yen (including tax), you can park for free for up to 3 hours. Be sure to present your parking ticket at the time of payment to receive the discount.
The terrace has about 60 seats, with relatively wide spacing between seats, allowing you to relax without worrying about the surroundings. During my visit, there were many guests with dogs, and about half of the groups were enjoying meals with their pets. The only downside is that the lighting is dim, so it may be a bit challenging to take photos at night.
The menu features a variety of pizzas, with 10 tomato sauce-based options and 6 without tomato sauce. There are also 8 classic pasta dishes, as well as 8 appetizers, 3 salads, and seasonal specials. The drink menu includes a wide selection of wines, beers, sangria, highballs, cocktails, and soft drinks.
I ordered a "draft beer" (tax included 610 yen), "apple juice" (tax included 440 yen), and "red wine" (tax included 550 yen). The glass for the red wine is made by the Italian glassmaker "Borgonovo," and it is the type of glass used for wine in Italian bars and trattorias.
For appetizers, I ordered the "Green Salad with Prosciutto and Walnuts" (tax included 960 yen), which featured crispy lettuce and juicy tomatoes topped with prosciutto and walnuts, drizzled with Parmesan cheese and olive oil. It had a simple yet delicious taste, with the nuttiness of the walnuts adding a nice touch.
Of course, when visiting a pizzeria, you have to order pizza. The first pizza I tried was the "Margherita with Buffalo Mozzarella" (tax included 1,650 yen), which had a well-balanced combination of tomato, cheese, and basil flavors. The second pizza was the "Quattro Formaggi" (tax included 1,480 yen), with an added drizzle of "honey" (tax included 60 yen). As a fan of Gorgonzola cheese, I enjoyed this pizza with a generous amount of Gorgonzola. It was delicious.
Thank you for the meal.
