FamilyMart, which can be found anywhere, has a quite nice eat-in space on the second floor. It is away from the sales floor, so it has a sense of privacy and is spacious. You can also enjoy a nice view of the Nichihatsu Shrine from the glass-walled area. There are magazines available for browsing, and the smoking area is quite large while the non-smoking area is well-separated. It's quite rare to find such a well-equipped space in the city center. It is open from 7am to 9pm.

Recently, after finishing work in Toranomon, I walk back to Shinjuku, passing by this area. This FamilyMart has been a topic of discussion among my fellow reviewers, but I was finally able to enter after starting my walking routine. It stands out from the outside and looks quite spacious. However, the convenience store space on the first floor is not that large. It feels like a typical FamilyMart. On this day, I was feeling a bit peckish after work, so I picked up the melty takoyaki for 330 yen and headed to the register. To my surprise, both cashiers were foreigners. I think they are from India to the Middle East. But I didn't feel worried at all. They were very polite and proficient in using the seemingly complicated register machines. Despite their name tags saying "Training in progress," they were doing an excellent job. Perhaps they are not just regular part-time workers but gaining training here to work as store managers in their home country's FamilyMart. With the rapid global expansion of convenience stores these days, this could be the case. Now, going up to the second floor, there seems to be about 40 seats in a spacious area. There is even a separate smoking area. It's almost on par with McDonald's seating, or maybe even tidier than McDonald's. There is a self-serve café with coin-operated machines where you can enjoy a coffee leisurely. Now, let's stop admiring and have the takoyaki at the table. The takoyaki was clearly microwaved, but it had a hollow inside like Osaka-style takoyaki, and it was truly melty. The size of the octopus was quite generous. But with this level of evolution, you can't underestimate it. This is a proper dining establishment. FamilyMart is steadily increasing the number of stores with such a large floor space that includes these "all-in-one" spaces. This amazing eat-in strategy is unique to FamilyMart. Lawson and Seven-Eleven don't have this. It's really exciting to see what other players will do in response.

At the intersection of Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line and Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, there is a FamilyMart convenience store with a café on the 2nd floor. It's rare to find a convenience store with a café! I didn't stop by the café today, but I did some shopping. The convenience store's bread is surprisingly delicious and affordable. I thought it might not be very tasty because it's cheap, but I was amazed. It's soft, slightly sweet, and delicious!

This is a shop located along Sotobori Street, in front of Nippe Shrine. The second floor is a cafe space, which is convenient. I bought Keema Curry Rice and had it at home. It is a Keema Curry Rice supervised by "Café & Meal MUJI". It contains minced chicken, red kidney beans, and chickpeas in the curry. The chicken thighs are seasoned with curry powder and grilled well. Finely chopped ginger is added as a hidden flavor. The rice used is a blend of sixteen grains, inspired by the rice served at "Café & Meal MUJI". It is a spicy curry and quite impressive for a convenience store curry. It's great that you can enjoy it for under 500 yen.

This is a FamilyMart where the second floor has been turned into a cafe. I visited around 9:00 in the morning on a weekday. Inside the store, there were 11 tables for non-smoking, with 2 seats each, and 1 table for 4 people. For smoking, there were 3 tables for 2 people, 2 tables for 4 people, and 4 counter seats. There were about 9 customers already inside, but no one was in the smoking section. I bought some fried chicken as a breakfast substitute and enjoyed it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by to buy a drink and ended up purchasing the trending Japanese-style tuna mayo. By the way, there was no harsh criticism on the packaging, which I found interesting. When I brought it home and tried it, it tasted like rice cooked with a slightly strong flavor. The tuna mayo was wrapped in this slightly strong rice, with a high mayo ratio making it a bit runny and on the softer side. This combination is not really my preference, but as a curveball, it's not bad, right? Even an old man like me who doesn't watch TV ended up buying it, so maybe it's actually getting some attention with its controversial effect, don't you think?
