The shop is located inside Ikebukuro Parco, so it was very convenient as it is directly connected to the station. I went a little early around 4 pm, so it was quite empty. The motsunabe is the type where they cook it and bring it to you, so I liked that it was already ready when it arrived. The motsu was firm and very delicious. Since it is located inside Parco, it doesn't feel like a typical izakaya and the interior of the shop was very clean. I thought it would be great for when you want to relax and drink in a comfortable environment.

I often go to this restaurant for lunch alone because you can enjoy hot pot by yourself. Today was a weekday, but it was crowded and it took longer than usual to be served. The food is always delicious, so I can go there with peace of mind. This time I had rice, so next time I think I'll have noodles.

On a substitute holiday, I went shopping in Ikebukuro. Due to the continuous rain, it was cold even during the day at 20 degrees, so I decided to go to a motsunabe (tripe hot pot) restaurant. There are two motsunabe restaurants in Ikebukuro, Antsuki and Ooyama, but since I have been to Antsuki a few times, I chose Ooyama on the 8th floor of Parco. It was early afternoon on a weekday, and there were only 3 groups of customers. I sat at a table and ordered the motsunabe set meal from the lunch menu. It came with horse sashimi, daikon radish with vinegar, and motsunabe. The motsunabe was delicious with yuzu pepper, and the horse sashimi was also tasty, although there were only 2 slices. The motsunabe contained tripe, cabbage, burdock, leeks, sesame, and chili peppers, with miso soup as the base. I didn't get tired of it and finished the meal. For dessert, I had champon noodles, but I will try ordering rice next time if I have the chance.

Reunion with an old friend who returned from Hong Kong ^_^ He had been wanting to eat motsunabe (tripe hot pot) for a long time, so he found a place called "Hakata Motsunabe Ooyama" on the 8th floor of Ikebukuro Parco. We arrived for dinner at an early time, so we were able to get a table easily. We ordered the "Ooyama Zanmai Set" with a 100-minute all-you-can-drink option. The horse sashimi was delicious, and the fatty tuna melted in our mouths! The A4 wagyu steak was cooked just right and paired well with salt. Now, onto the motsunabe! The miso broth was thick and collagen-rich, with tender pieces of tripe...♬♬ I had never thought motsunabe was "delicious" before, but this one was really good. The meal ended with champon noodles, which were also very filling! Thank you for the feast.

When you choose the course menu, you can enjoy various popular dishes. The motsunabe is cooked in soy sauce with large, chewy pieces of offal. You can add shichimi spice or yuzu pepper for a different taste. Feel free to ask for more vegetables. Make sure to savor the champon noodles as well. For dessert, try the Kyushu soy sauce ice cream. It has a deliciously salty-sweet flavor. It's affordable and you can eat to your heart's content.

I ordered a course menu, but it was quite a lot for two women. The noodles at the end were really delicious, but I was already full... The horse sashimi and mentaiko were all satisfying ^_^ The motsunabe was also very tasty, with the motsu being firm and delicious. The illustrations or pop art by the staff were cute and funny.笑

This was my first time at the restaurant Motsube Ooyama in Tokyo. When I looked at the menu, I changed my mind from ordering motsunabe to ordering motsu stir-fry set meal. I chose soy sauce for the seasoning, although there was also salt available. It was delicious. The motsu pieces were small and elegant, which left me feeling slightly unsatisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat something warm, so I requested motsunabe and was taken to this restaurant. It was Christmas Eve and the restaurant area in Parco was empty, but there was a line of people waiting in front of this restaurant. We had to wait for a while, maybe about 20 minutes. I don't eat motsunabe often, probably only a few times in my life, because I heard it makes your clothes smell. They had chairs where you could store your coat and bag. We ordered the Kyushu Zanmai set, which included motsunabe miso, Korean-style tofu salad, tender beef vinegar motsu, Hakata mentaiko, Kumamoto-sourced horse sashimi, and shime no champon noodles for 3,520 yen. The edamame appetizer was not great, with a mushy texture. The Korean-style tofu salad had delicious dressing and lots of vegetables. The vinegar motsu was soft and chewy. I don't eat mentaiko, so my companion had that. The horse sashimi was enjoyed with lots of garlic. Finally, the motsunabe arrived with lots of chewy motsu. It was rich and tasty. We also enjoyed the champon noodles. I felt energized after the meal, but it took us 3 hours to get home due to a train accident.

I can't forget the motsunabe I ate in Hakata during the summer, and recently, as it's getting colder, I've been in a motsunabe boom in my head. There was a restaurant I wanted to try, but it was fully booked on weekends due to the year-end. Thankfully, I managed to make a reservation over the phone. It was perfect for after work. As expected of a popular Hakata restaurant, there were several customers waiting outside the restaurant. Now, what should I order? I decided to go for a set menu as it seemed like a good deal. I also ordered a tamagoyaki because I was craving eggs. For drinks, there were various options like sweet potato shochu and plum wine, so I chose my favorite. The set came with salad, mentaiko, and vinegar motsu. The vinegar motsu was exceptionally delicious, no unpleasant smell at all. The salad mainly consisted of sunny lettuce. The tamagoyaki was a bit disappointing, not freshly made. It wasn't bad, though. Now, the motsunabe! The taste was quite delicious. The motsu had a slightly different texture than what I had imagined, not as chewy as the impressive motsu I had in Hakata. It was small and tender. There were plenty of vegetables, so I was satisfied with the hot pot. For the finale, I tried the cheese zosui. The noodles might have been better. The strong presence of cheese overpowered the soup's flavor. The cloudy sweet potato shochu was very delicious without any strong taste. The cloudy plum wine was also tasty. The orchid was quite strong when drunk on the rocks, more suitable for men. Compared to the grilled motsunabe I had at a famous Hakata restaurant, this one felt a bit lacking, but I would consider going back when I crave motsunabe. It was a fun and lively experience, typical of Hakata, on the 8th floor of Parco.

The atmosphere and efficiency drop, as expected. It must be due to cultural differences. But the taste felt like Kyushu. No problem at all! However, online reservations are not available during busy hours, only during slow times. In the end, you end up waiting without a reservation. If customer priority reservations cannot be made, then stop online reservations. In that sense, it's analog - reservations during busy times seem to be more suitable for phone calls. Well, it's true that it's crowded, so online reservations are not necessary. That's like a thing of the past. I wish they would consider operating further in advance.

The iron plate grilled motsu with soy sauce flavor was well-seasoned and delicious. However, in terms of what sets it apart from other restaurants, both the amount of motsu and vegetables lacked any distinctive features, making it a typical motsu dish that was neither outstanding nor disappointing. If I were only looking for motsu nabe, I would go to another restaurant, but it seemed like they had a good selection of other a la carte dishes.

This is my second visit. We ordered a course with all-you-can-drink option. Every dish was delicious, and the overall portion was large. We went with one man and one woman, and we were both very full. I think it's a good value for the price.

I visited the "Ooyama" restaurant in Ikebukuro Parco on a certain day in August 2022, a little after 12 o'clock. The restaurant, located on the 8th floor, was about 30% full. I was seated at a table in the back, which felt a bit cramped. The service from the staff was lacking in guidance. After looking at the menu for a while, I ordered the "Motsunabe set meal (rich and spicy miso flavor)" for ¥1,280. The food arrived after about 7-8 minutes, consisting of raw motsunabe, salad, rice, and yuzu daikon. I cooked the motsunabe on the IH heater in front of me and had to wait quite a while for it to be ready. When the cabbage was cooked, I started eating at the right timing. The miso flavor was not very spicy as described, but it had a nice umami taste. I enjoyed the motsu, cabbage, leeks, burdock, and tofu in the dish. I think it would be better with a stronger garlic flavor and sweetness. The motsu had a good texture and was delicious without any strong taste. The finely sliced burdock was necessary for the motsunabe, providing a great flavor and texture. The cabbage had a slightly noticeable stringiness, but it was well-cooked and tasty. The salad consisted of radish, mentaiko, and seaweed, making it a good side dish for rice. I enjoyed the mentaiko and rice alongside the motsunabe. The yuzu daikon lacked volume and could have been more satisfying. After finishing the motsunabe, I felt pleasantly full. I started to sweat a bit, possibly due to the subtle spiciness kicking in. The flavor of the motsunabe was decent, but as a set meal, it felt a bit lacking. The combination of radish salad and yuzu daikon was somewhat disappointing. Overall, the "Ooyama" in Ikebukuro needs improvement in terms of price and hospitality.

I had a great time at a restaurant on the Parco restaurant floor. It's hot pot season now. The motsu nabe (tripe hot pot) was already cooked and the ingredients included cabbage, leeks, tofu, and more. The soup was slightly sweet miso flavor with a strong garlic taste. I had a delicious time today. I was full and satisfied.

It seems that a popular restaurant in Hakata has opened an outlet in a department store. The interior of the store is cramped, with seats crammed into a small space. There also seems to be a shortage of staff, making it difficult to get their attention. The service for food and drinks is quite slow, giving the impression that cost efficiency was the main focus in setting up the restaurant. It's disappointing to see a department store allowing such a place to open. The motsunabe (offal hot pot) was delicious, but the overall atmosphere was not pleasant.

I had the Kyushu Zanmai course with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option. The portion sizes were generous, so it might be better to have the all-you-can-drink for 1 hour and then enjoy the hot pot! The recommended miso-flavored horse meat was fresh and had a good texture, easy to eat with well-cut pieces of vegetables. The mentaiko had a light taste and was very satisfying. It would be even better if it were about 200 yen cheaper.

In early December 2021, I had lunch at a restaurant called Boru Juku, which I had seen on YouTube being delivered in Hakata. I found out they had a store in Tokyo, so I saved it. It was located on the 8th floor of Parco next to Ikebukuro Station. I arrived around 1:50 PM, and the restaurant was about 30% full. There were a few large groups, but it seemed like a lot of solo female diners were enjoying hot pot dishes. The restaurant was calm as the lunch rush had passed. I ordered the motsu nabe set, which came with a choice of rice or champon noodles. I couldn't decide, so I chose rice as default and added champon noodles. The rice portion was normal, but you could get a free large serving. They also offered free refills of cabbage. The hot pot set arrived with daikon salad topped with mentaiko mayo and pickles. We started cooking the hot pot on the table's IH stove. The soup was rich and delicious, with a strong miso flavor and a nice umami taste from the cabbage and thinly sliced burdock. The motsu had a good chewy texture with a nice fatty flavor. I couldn't help but go back for more rice. Lastly, we added the champon noodles to finish the meal. The thick noodles were surprisingly filling, but they absorbed the soup and slid down easily. I ended up eating too much, but it was a satisfying meal. I wanted to try both rice and noodles this time, but next time I might opt for extra cabbage and focus on either rice or noodles. The rich flavors of the motsu hot pot might make diners feel less guilty, which could explain why many solo female diners were enjoying it.

It was hot, so I went to Ooyama-san alone to eat motsunabe. I didn't feel like going out, so I went to this place on the 8th floor of Parco. Maybe because it's summer or because of the pandemic, the restaurant was quite empty inside, so it was cool. For someone like me who loves hot pot, it was perfect even in the heat. Now, I was expecting Ooyama-san to have their usual delicious motsunabe. The meat was tender and had no unpleasant smell. It was pure bliss to slice and eat while sweating. The mentaiko and yuzu daikon were also delicious. However, the most noteworthy thing was the amazing taste of the miso soup. They blend multiple types of miso, including Kyushu miso and Nishikyo miso, and the complex flavor along with the preparation of the meat is quite difficult to replicate at home. It actually feels quicker and more cost-effective to come directly to the restaurant to eat. Cabbage is free for refills, but the burdock root and tofu add even more deliciousness. Putting the champon noodles in early allows them to absorb a lot of the miso soup and become thick and soft, which I personally love. It was delicious. I definitely want to visit again.
