There are many restaurants lining up from Akasaka to Akasaka Mitsuke. While there are plenty of delicious looking restaurants on the main street, there are also many stylish hidden gem establishments on the back streets, making Akasaka an interesting place. On this day, I decided to walk along the back streets instead of the main street. Among them, I discovered a certain restaurant called "Eiki". It had a slightly upscale atmosphere, but a nice ambiance. Alright, it's decided, I will dine here today.
Entering the restaurant nervously, the interior was not very spacious, but had a counter and table seats, and was quite stylish. There were many female customers, and the place was bustling. It seems that this restaurant uses carefully selected chicken brands such as Jitokko, Shingen, Hinata, Hinan, which seems to have a lot of dedication. But first things first...
- Draft Beer (650 yen)
Of course, beer is a must. Delicious skewers and beer, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The appetizer was pickles and pickled ginger. It was refreshing and a nice touch. Now, as it is a yakitori restaurant, I naturally ordered yakitori, but there were various cuts to choose from. In the midst of it, my eyes caught one menu item. "Special... white liver?" I definitely wanted to eat this! I thought and ordered, but to my surprise, the special white liver was sold out!!! Nevertheless...
- Chicken Sashimi (1,200 yen)
Regaining my composure, I started with chicken sashimi. Actually, I am quite picky about chicken sashimi. I put a little extra wasabi on it and put it in my mouth. Hmm! Delicious! Fresh! I could eat this all day long.
- Eiki Cream Salad (850 yen)
Right, I also ordered a salad. It had 4 types of mushrooms and lettuce in good harmony! The special dressing was delicious.
- White Liver (400 yen)
Yes, the white liver that was out of the special. However, at 400 yen per piece, this white liver was quite expensive. I decided to eat it anyway. Chew, chew...!! Yes, it was extremely delicious! The melt-in-your-mouth texture with a strong umami taste... Even though I was disappointed that the special was sold out, this exceeded my expectations! It made me even more nostalgic for the special... but it was a taste of pure amazement!
- Tsukune Stuffed Peppers (550 yen)
Next was the tsukune stuffed peppers. How to eat it?... Sandwich the tsukune between the peppers! For those like us who had been secretly waiting for a chance to eat tsukune and peppers together after seeing it in "The Lonely Gourmet", this was the perfect opportunity! So, I put the peppers and tsukune in my mouth at the same time. This... it matches so well! The deliciousness of the tsukune and the texture of the peppers were an exquisite match. I want everyone to try it.
- Karaage Half (400 yen)
Specialty chicken karaage. This was definitely delicious. I could eat as many bowls as I wanted if there was rice. It was also perfect as a side dish for drinks. No complaints. Even though it was a half size, it was quite filling, so for those who want to try various dishes, the half size seems to be a good choice.
- Chouchin (450 yen)
And finally, this. I had never heard of chouchin before, but it seemed interesting, so I ordered it and a chouchin-like item arrived! The taste was... yes, egg! It was an egg! It felt like eating a rich egg yolk. Not extremely delicious, but it could be a conversation starter and not a waste to try.
- Thank you for the meal!
So, I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken dishes. Chicken dishes are definitely delicious! Personally, the deliciousness of the white liver was impressive. Next time, I definitely want to eat the special white liver... Let's go again.
