In the morning of the day I took paid time off, I had breakfast at Bikkuri Donkey. I had potato salad toast, boiled egg, and coffee. I was happy that the coffee was free refill. It was relaxing, and I really love Bikkuri Donkey's breakfast. Next time, I might try the one-plate set.

As someone from Hokkaido, I have been familiar with and grateful for Bikkuri Donkey since I was a child. After coming to Tokyo, I rarely visited, but my husband wanted to try the limited-time hamburger, so we went back after a long time. My husband ordered the Melty Burger dish with plenty of bacon, garlic, and cheese, while I ordered soft serve with strawberry sauce. It wasn't incredibly delicious, but it brought back nostalgic memories of my childhood. The soft serve ice cream had a high milk fat content, no wonder it's popular. I was happy to see the menu displayed on a traditional wooden menu board.

Craft beer sounds good! I headed to a hamburger restaurant called "Burger House Nominalu" in Otanida, but it was closed. Maybe they have already closed for the year-end holidays. So, I thought there should be a ramen shop a little further ahead. However, the ramen shop called "Chuka Soba YouLee" was also closed. Across the street, I saw a sign for Bikkuri Donkey, so I made a U-turn and went there. Surprisingly, I was able to get a table right away. There was a family sitting next to me, and the kids were ordering with their parents' guidance. I ordered the Donkey House Beer (draft) Mini Potato Set for ¥1,040. I wondered if they only had one type of beer. I wish they had a non-stout option with alcohol. When I looked at the menu, I found the seasonal Raspberry Red for ¥600. I remember they used to have about three types of beer. I also ordered the Crispy Fried Squid for ¥550 and the Donkey Classic Salad for ¥550. The foam on the Donkey House Beer disappeared quickly, but the taste was easy to enjoy, not a lager or pilsner style, maybe more like an altbier? The Raspberry Red was a nice change, and the salad had crab legs hidden under the lettuce, with Chinese cabbage adding a good balance. The Crispy Fried Squid was perfectly crispy, and I recommend it with the potatoes. They have snacks and hamburger dishes, so just beer and snacks are fine for dads. But since I came to Bikkuri Donkey after a long time, I decided to have the hamburger and curry. Although I was a bit full, I ordered the Curry Hamburger Dish 150g for ¥1,015, which came with a spoon because it was curry, but others were eating the hamburger with chopsticks. The hamburger was well-seasoned and didn't need any sauce. It was slightly salty and went well with the rice. The curry was spicy and the amount was just right for the hamburger rice and curry rice. The radish salad on the side was a must! It was crunchy and the dressing was delicious. They sell the dressing at the register, and the previous customer bought some. I thought I ate quite a lot by myself, but spending the year-end without going to the city and enjoying beer was nice.

When you visit Bikkuri Donkey at a time other than in the morning, this set is almost always a go-to: Cheese Curry Burger Dish with a side of Fried Egg Miso Soup, and an additional side of salad. This combination set is truly the best, so I highly recommend trying it. If you haven't tried the curry before, start with that - it's seriously delicious. This time, due to a mistake by the staff, the salad was brought out on a separate plate later.

I think the taste is good. I ordered the variety set, and the meat was tender and delicious. I really liked the salad dressing. The drinks were also very tasty. I went around 5 pm, so there were hardly any people. The only downside is that maybe I was really hungry, so I felt like it wasn't quite enough.

I found out that they have a lunch menu on weekdays, which includes miso soup. I ordered the 150g cheeseburger dish with a small portion of rice. Since I chose the small portion of rice, I received a discount of 55 yen, making the total cost less than 1000 yen. After a short wait, the hamburger arrived. The miso soup came in a slightly larger bowl compared to other places, which was a pleasant surprise. I remember feeling disappointed in the past when I paid for miso soup and only got a small amount, so this was great. The hamburger plate had a good balance of meat, rice, and salad. I left a little rice, but finished everything else. It was a satisfying meal.

You can get refills for hot coffee and iced coffee. The hamburger is 100g and you can't get extra rice with the mini set. I was worried if it would be enough, but by the time I finished eating, my stomach felt just right. I think it's a nice little luxury for breakfast. The restaurant wasn't crowded during lunchtime, so I could eat leisurely.

Sometimes I feel like going to Bikkuri Donkey along the Kanna Seven Route. Each store has a different exterior, which is fun. Inside, there are golf sets on display and antique figurines. I ordered a fondue-style cheeseburger dish. The dish comes with a salad and rice on one plate, with a unique Japanese-style original hamburger sauce. Unlike a regular burger, this one has a special blend of white cheese that is poured over the juicy hamburger, creating a creamy texture. The hamburger is made with a blend of beef and pork, making it soft and delicious. The beef used is mainly from British Hereford cattle and European Angus cattle, known for their quality. They are fed with grass, hay, and silage (fermented grass). Due to geographical isolation and strict quarantine measures, the livestock is protected from diseases, making New Zealand and Australian beef the safest choice. I also tried the strawberry milk, which had a delightful texture with chunks of ripe strawberry pulp in the sauce.

My beautiful wife, who is all about beauty, recently wanted to go to Bikkuri Donkey, so we went to the dream Bikkuri Donkey. It had been about 10 years since my beautiful wife had been there, but she was recently influenced by various ranking programs of menu items in the food industry on TV. We ordered the menu that was highly rated on TV. There were nostalgic menu items and ones we tried for the first time. Over the years, I have eaten many delicious hamburgers, but the hamburger at Bikkuri Donkey was also delicious and touched my heart. Both of us ordered the 300g hamburger, I chose the curry burger and my beautiful wife enjoyed the cheeseburger dish nostalgically. For dessert, we had the mini soft serve ice cream from the ranch!

I ordered the cheese hamburger with a fried egg on top. I also added a small curry on the side. The hamburger on a single plate. It's nostalgic. The taste is also nostalgic and delicious. I remembered the first time I came here as a child and was surprised by the size of the drink, and I quickly finished my meal. I feel like coming back again.

I visited during a quiet period due to the pandemic, and while there were slightly fewer staff members, they were still cheerful and provided the usual lunch menu. It was comforting to experience such stability and I was pleased with the service.

When I went before, the Donkey Manpuku Set was so popular that it was sold out and I couldn't eat it, so I tried it again this time. I ordered the 300 Cheese, Chunky Strawberry Milk, and Strawberry Parfait. It's a great deal for this price. The 300 portion size was satisfying. It was a long wait because it was a three-day weekend. The parfait had jelly and shiratama, which was nice. I want to try the Donkey Manpuku Set again.
