I played soccer in the morning at the Tama River riverside and on my way home, I stopped by a Chinese restaurant called Marufuku in Koremasa. Koremasa is a place where I don't usually have much to do other than going to the supermarket, but recently I've been playing soccer more often at Fuchu Kyodo no Mori, so I was looking for a delicious restaurant. The restaurant next door, Hanami, was delicious when my family and I went there in the past, but the downside was that the service was very slow, so this time I decided to try Marufuku for the first time. I don't have any particular reason, but whenever I go to a new Chinese restaurant, I always order the pork cutlet bowl. It's just easier to judge the taste that way, or I guess if the pork cutlet bowl is delicious, then other dishes should be good too. I just really love pork cutlet bowls. That's why I don't lose weight even though I play soccer. I ordered the pork cutlet bowl for 830 yen at Marufuku. They also had a deluxe pork cutlet bowl, but I decided to stick with the regular one as I didn't want to spend over 1,000 yen at a local Chinese restaurant. The taste was typical of a local Chinese restaurant's pork cutlet bowl. It was just right for when you're hungry.

End point, Koremasa. It's peaceful. Koremasa Bridge, where I used to ride my bike with a fishing rod and reel in my childhood. In my youth, I had rendezvous at dusk on my motorcycle. Sometimes I would take the Koremasa Line from "Shin-Koganei Station" just to see. I wonder if that girl I was interested in was around here. Koremasa Bridge holds many memories for me. However, coming back after a long time, I was surprised to see that the bridge had been replaced with a beautiful new one. And the area around the station, which used to have only two fishing tackle shops, is now filled with new apartment buildings. It has become an unfamiliar town. As I was drawn to try the shrimp fry at the neighboring "Restaurant Hanami" which was half-opened, I was disappointed to see it temporarily closed. So I decided to try "Marufuku" next door, where the local lady who had entered before me seemed to keep the place from closing down. Marufuku is the only restaurant open around Koremasa Station on Saturdays, so it quickly filled up with customers. I found out later that the nearby Inneppa store was also open. Still, only two restaurants were open near the station. My original purpose for coming to this area was to visit an exhibition at the Fuchu City Art Museum. A valuable collection of works related to the Arts and Crafts movement was on display. This large park used to be a former military base, and the Koganei Street along the way always felt like an endless expanse of land when I rode my bike. It's wonderful how this vast park has been developed. Truly, Fuchu City is well-funded. Now, "Chinese Cuisine Marufuku" here is run by the master and the lady boss. The lady boss is thoughtful despite being taciturn. The master works diligently on cooking and washing dishes. It's a straightforward restaurant. I glanced at the local woman who had entered before me... Ah, she's eating fried rice. It looks delicious. I'll have that too. - "Gomoku Chahan" ¥730 - "Gyoza" ¥530 The fried rice here is only available in the Gomoku Chahan style. It's unusual. There's no normal fried rice or crab fried rice. It's firm. The color is rich. That's why it looks delicious. It's probably the work of soy sauce and some other sauce. The taste is also rich with a slight saltiness, almost like yakimeshi. It's the kind of dish you won't get tired of as you eat. It's a truly moist fried rice. Not moist from oil, but from the combination of rice and egg. It's not sticky. The moisture level of the rice is just right. The ingredients include small diced char siu, egg, green onions, and green peas. It's topped with pickled ginger. I'm not particularly fond of pickled ginger, but I think it serves as a necessary topping for color. The soup has a strong flavor of simmered dried fish and bones. It would make a good soup for ramen even without added seasoning. When this soup is mixed with the fried rice, it certainly enhances the rich flavor. The gyoza is more like deep-fried than pan-fried, so the skin has a crispy texture rather than a chewy one. It's delicious, perhaps because of the oil. The filling is a mix of meat and vegetables. There are no gaps in the filling, so there's no risk of meat juice pooling inside. Instead, the flavor of the frying oil or grilling oil seeps into the filling, enhancing its umami. This is not only a perfect match for the fried rice but also goes well with beer. Why didn't I come here on the Seibu Koremasa Line? I might as well forget about it along with my memories and throw it into the Tama River. It's now called the "Seibu Tama River Line." It was originally opened as a "gravel railway" and has contributed to the development of Tokyo's construction materials and railways. It's interesting how it remains isolated without connecting to other Seibu Railways. Five years ago, it marked an unusual 100th anniversary of its opening as a terminal line. It's not considered a terminal line. When I was a child, in the late Showa period, we still called it the Koremasa Line. However, according to Wikipedia, it had been renamed the Tama River Line long before I was born. I don't know what to believe. After finishing my meal, it's time to say goodbye to my memories of Koremasa. I probably just didn't notice, but the town's Chinese restaurant where I could have a meal ===========

Chinese Cuisine Marufuku @ Tokyo, Fuchu City (Koremasa) @ Chinese cuisine, soba, udon town This is a convenient restaurant where you can enjoy Japanese soba, udon, and set meals. Located near the end of the Seibu Tamagawa Line at Koremasa Station, next to Hanami, a Western-style restaurant, along Koremasa-kun Street by the Tama River in Fuchu. The bright red neon sign and sample showcase stand out. The interior has counter seats facing the kitchen and table seats. The clean and well-maintained hall and kitchen leave a good impression. The menu includes noodles, rice dishes, and a variety of side dishes. Rice dishes include curry, chicken rice, omurice, mixed fried rice, katsudon, oyakodon, katsudon, tenshindon, and more. Set meals include stir-fried vegetables, negi-tama, yakiniku, and more. Noodles include ramen, yakisoba, firm soba, and 22 types of Chinese noodles, as well as 12 types of soba and udon. Side dishes include gyoza, stir-fried vegetables, chicken karaage, crab omelette, meatballs, and more, offering a wide selection of dishes typical of a Chinese restaurant. For tonight's dinner for two, we chose the following: We were tempted to order side dishes, but the portions were so generous that we decided to refrain, which turned out to be the right choice. The owner manages the restaurant alone, but it was nice to see him promptly refill our water glasses when they were empty. ■ Tenshindon 880 yen ■ Omurice 830 yen Both are classic dishes. The tenshindon is generously topped with a glossy sweet and sour sauce, and the firm egg is sprinkled with onions, shiitake mushrooms, and narutomaki. The rice is also served generously. The topping of green peas enhances the flavor of the tenshindon. The omurice is not fluffy but rather firm. It wraps around the chicken rice nicely, with a generous amount of ketchup drizzled on top. I like this traditional style. The first impression of this visit was excellent, and I feel like trying the katsudon that caught my eye on my next visit. Issei Marufuku is a politician. It is the terminal station of the Seibu Tamagawa Line. In the past, before the training center was established in Bihoru, I vaguely remember that there were horses around Issei. On my way back from visiting a friend's house near Issei, I discovered a Chinese restaurant near the station. I couldn't resist going in. The menu includes Chinese noodles as well as soba and udon, which is charming. It seems to be a strategy to attract many customers. The restaurant offers a variety of rice dishes as well. I started with a Sapporo Red Star beer, showing a high level of awareness. Let's start with the gyoza for 530 yen. The pricing is unique. Next, the tonkatsu for 850 yen. It is a sizable tonkatsu with high-quality meat. The chicken karaage for 1,100 yen is piled high and satisfying. Moving on to the carb dishes, the five-ingredient fried rice for 730 yen and the ramen for 530 yen, which is light and includes naruto. The restaurant is run by a single father. Keep up the good work at Issei, the terminal station of the Seibu Tamagawa Line.

Tokyo's Fuchu City is Issei. Ramen, soba, udon, donburi, fried rice, set meals, and more, this is the quintessential town Chinese restaurant. The nearest station is Issei Station on the Seibu Tamagawa Line. I was able to find a nice restaurant here ☆ I haven't been to Issei in a while. I used to come here often with my father from kindergarten to elementary school, living between Mitaka and Kichijoji. When we came to play by the Tama River, we would take the Seibu Tamagawa Line from Musashisakai Station, next to Mitaka Station, to Issei Station, which was 6 single-track stations away (Musashisakai ⇒ Shinkoganei ⇒ Tama ⇒ Shiroitadai ⇒ Keirinkijo-mae ⇒ Issei), and we would go back and forth with excitement. There is a very small shopping street around the station. There are a few eateries as well. Among them, Marufuku is the only town Chinese restaurant. It is run by a couple in their 70s. Next door is a Western-style restaurant called "Hanami." The interior is bright and clean, although the appearance makes it hard to tell what it's like inside. You order verbally and pay afterwards. It was a very hot day, so I was sweating a lot. Seeing that, they brought me two glasses of water. The customer in front of me ordered fried rice, and the customer behind me ordered meat and vegetable stir-fry set meal. If I didn't have to drive, I'd want to have a beer. Today's order: Wonton noodles 630 yen. The default ramen is 530 yen, and cold soba and udon are also 530 yen. The curry rice is 730 yen, which is an average price for this type of town Chinese restaurant. It had been only about 3 hours since breakfast, so I kept it light. The classic chicken bone soy sauce soup, curly medium-thin noodles, a few wontons, bamboo shoots, and fish paste made for a satisfying bowl of wonton noodles. The wontons were delicious and slippery. This is good enough for me. It was a comforting bowl. I drank about half of the soup and finished my meal. #Koyui #Town Chinese Restaurant Exploration Team #Near Tama River #Seibu Tamagawa Line #Terminal Station #Memories of Issei #Iida Issei #Pioneer of the end of the Sengoku period #Retainer of Hojo Ujiteru #Chinese cuisine #Ramen #Fried rice #Set meal #Hard-to-enter appearance #Bright and clean inside #86th bowl in 2022 #Very high possibility of revisiting.

The restaurant is located near the Higashi station. It has a traditional Chinese restaurant vibe, which is very charming. The bright red signboard at the entrance gives a sense of history. Inside, the restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of tables, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. The place is run by an elderly couple. I ordered the Gomoku Ramen (750 yen) and Moyashi Ramen (600 yen). For the Moyashi Ramen, I was asked to choose between soy sauce or salt base, and whether I wanted it with thickened sauce or not. I chose soy sauce base with thickened sauce. The dishes arrived in about five minutes. First, I tried the Gomoku Ramen soup. The base was salty, with a slightly rich flavor probably due to the variety of ingredients used, such as chashu, boiled egg, naruto, cabbage, carrot, wood ear mushroom, bean sprouts, tamagoyaki, and green peas. It had a unique touch with ingredients not commonly found in Gomoku Ramen. The noodles were slightly curly and medium thin, fitting well with the Gomoku Ramen. Next, the Moyashi Ramen had a rich and sweet taste in the sauce, which was very delicious. The soy sauce base paired well with the thickened sauce. Overall, this place exudes a nostalgic old-fashioned ramen shop vibe, but the quality of the ramen itself is excellent, given the long-standing business. If the Gomoku Ramen was this good, I look forward to trying other ramen dishes as well. I definitely plan to revisit. I hope they continue to thrive despite the challenges of the pandemic. Thank you for the meal.

This is a visit in the early afternoon on a day off. It's my first time at this restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. It's run by a couple and has a warm atmosphere. Since they didn't have draft beer, I ordered a bottled beer. It was Akahoshi! Lucky! I ordered yakiniku (grilled meat) and fried chicken. The yakiniku had a strong soy sauce flavor and was delicious! It went well with the beer. The fried chicken was small but quite a lot. It was crispy and the soy sauce flavor was gentle but a bit light. It lacked impact compared to the flavorful yakiniku. For dessert, I had omurice. The chicken rice inside was rich in ketchup flavor and a bit mushy, which I like! The thin egg wrapping it was a perfect match with the chicken rice. The omurice is the best in town! The side soup had a strong chicken broth flavor and was delicious! It made me crave ramen. Drinking a beer at a casual Chinese restaurant in broad daylight is the best!

Tokyo, Fuchu. A town with Tokyo Racecourse and Toshiba factory. Rich in nature, with the large Tama River flowing through it. The gateway to the Tama River is Isesaki Station on the Seibu Tama River Line. A restaurant right near Isesaki Station in Fuchu, Tokyo. Today's special is Marufuku's bean sprout noodles for 600 yen. Many years ago, as a child, I used to come to Isesaki Station to go fishing on weekends. Today, by chance, I ended up driving into Isesaki... Maybe it's fate? I decided to have lunch there. I stumbled upon a typical Chinese restaurant. I love these kinds of places!! I quickly went in. My favorite dish at a Chinese restaurant is bean sprout noodles. I looked at the menu and found it!! My favorite bean sprout noodles. There were various menu options, but I decided to start with my favorite. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be a set menu. I ordered the bean sprout noodles and was asked, "Soy sauce flavor? Salt flavor? Do you want it thick?" I chose soy sauce flavor with thick broth. After ordering, I noticed they also had dumplings and decided to add that to my order. The dumplings came out quickly. They were slightly burnt and crispy, with a generous amount of oil. They were hot and delicious!! Finally, the bean sprout noodles arrived. They looked hot with a thick broth. Bean sprouts, pork, and a hint of carrots. Two slices of naruto added a cozy touch. A classic bean sprout noodle dish. The thick broth was perfect!! It was delicious!! The noodles were slightly soft, maybe egg noodles? They mixed well with the broth. I love putting white rice on top, but I restrained myself today. I accidentally stumbled into this restaurant, but it truly captures the essence of a Chinese restaurant. I am very satisfied!!

Yakiniku set meal 980 yen - The thick-cut pork yakiniku and rice in this meal are very filling. The seasoning is just right, not too strong or too light. It would have been even better if they provided mayonnaise for the salad and as an accent for the yakiniku. I might come back if I'm in the area for work, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip here for private dining. Thank you for the meal.

On Sundays, I often play baseball in this area. Seiseki Station has been a familiar place for me since my student days. However, I had no memory of entering this shop, so I decided to visit it. On this day, the practice game ended around 3:00 pm. I wanted to have lunch first, but I didn't want to be too full, so I postponed it. That's why I was able to visit around 3:30 pm. Even though it was late, they were still open for business, so I was able to visit without any issues. Upon entering the shop, there was a kitchen on the right, counter seats on the left, two 4-person tables, and one 2-person table. The side of the shop was made of glass windows, allowing plenty of light to enter, making the place bright and clean. The seats were neatly arranged, and the tableware was well organized, creating a pleasant atmosphere. It was clear at a glance that the shop was clean. There was one customer ahead of me, enjoying their meal. The shop owner was also watching TV while efficiently working. I quickly looked at the menu on the table. The menu mainly consisted of typical Chinese dishes, as well as soba and udon. The prices were not too high, so I was indecisive about what to order. I ended up ordering the Char Siu Wonton Men (850 yen). It just felt right for me on that day. After taking my order, the owner started cooking silently and efficiently. Shortly after, my order arrived. The bowl had a light blue color with the words "Marufuku" engraved on it, which made it even more appetizing. Here is my impression of the dish: Soup: A soy sauce-based Japanese-style soup. It had a strong umami flavor from chicken bones, vegetables, and dried ingredients. Noodles: Thin curly egg noodles with a strong yellow hue. Char Siu: 5 slices of salt-flavored pork shoulder Char Siu, providing a texture typical of Chinese ramen. Wonton: 5 pieces with a small amount of minced pork filling. The skin was on the thicker side. Menma: Moderately salted bamboo shoots with a strong salty flavor. Overall, the dish had a slightly strong flavor. But since I had just finished exercising, I was happy to replenish my salt intake. This shop seemed like a place where locals would go for typical Chinese cuisine. Personally, I enjoyed the food and would like to visit again if the timing is right after baseball. Thank you for the meal.

Fuchu City is home to a modest Chinese restaurant among the not-so-plentiful dining options in the area. The name suggests it falls under the category of typical local Chinese eateries. Located in a shopping street with a neighboring Western-style restaurant, the storefront may seem unassuming with faded menu samples on display. I decided to step in one day, despite the lack of a "open" sign. Inside, there was only one customer enjoying a bottle of beer. I took a seat at the counter and ordered the "Yakisoba" for 700 yen. The owner, who was also the chef, promptly started cooking in a wok and served the dish within a few minutes. The yakisoba had a rich soy sauce color sauce generously poured over it, topped with sliced naruto fish cakes. The vegetable-heavy ingredients included bean sprouts, cabbage, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, and pork belly as an accent. I dug into the dish and found that the noodles, although thin, absorbed the sauce well and became soft. The flavor wasn't as strong as it looked, but the sauce was thick and flavorful. Despite not finishing all the sauce after finishing the noodles, it could serve as a good accompaniment with beer or chu-hi. Overall, it was a simple and satisfying dish that offered good value for its price. Two things that caught my attention at the restaurant were the extensive menu, offering a variety of noodle dishes, stir-fries, rice bowls, and even tonkatsu, as well as a selection of soba and udon dishes. I was particularly curious about the variations of moon-viewing, kaki tamago, and oyakodon dishes. Additionally, the restaurant's simple yet well-maintained interior, especially the spotless kitchen, reflected the owner's diligent and efficient work ethic. This popular Chinese restaurant with a wide range of dishes could be a convenient option for locals.

Two days in a row I had lunch in the same area, and since yesterday's meal at "Restaurant Hanami" was delicious, I wanted to revisit it, but it was closed. So, I looked for another nearby restaurant and found "Chinese Cuisine Marufuku" next door. The exterior is simple, and the interior has 8 counter seats, 2 four-person tables, and 1 two-person table. The menu includes a variety of Chinese dishes such as ramen, yakisoba, wonton noodles, Tianjin noodles, gyoza, meat and vegetable stir-fry, as well as other options like omurice, curry rice, oyakodon, katsudon, udon, and soba. Today, I tried the "Gomoku Hiyashi Chuka" for 830 yen, which had a variety of toppings like cucumber, pickled ginger, thin omelet, boiled egg, fish cake, chashu, naruto, bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms. It had a soy sauce-based soup with a hint of vinegar-like acidity, giving it a traditional cold noodle dish flavor. Although cold noodles are satisfying, they are quickly finished, leaving a slight feeling of wanting more.

I had been curious about this Chinese restaurant for a while. There was also a ramen shop nearby, but I decided to pass on it this time. The exterior has a red sign and feels somewhat new, but the interior has a Showa era vibe. When it comes to Chinese restaurants, ramen is a common choice, so I ordered ramen as usual. However, the taste was surprisingly bland... It looked like the usual soy sauce ramen, but it lacked flavor! It's a mystery. The ramen didn't have much saltiness, so I didn't feel satisfied after eating it, but at least my hunger was satisfied. It's rare to have ramen that lacks flavor.

Last week, I had lunch in Okubo twice and on Saturday, I worked overtime and went drinking in the evening, so to tighten up a bit (lol), I went jogging on Sunday morning. I aimed to run 10km that day. There is an internet radio station that plays 80s Western music, so I listened to that while running. Phil Collins and others, it's nostalgic, right? I started from Tamagawa Haribashi and headed towards Koremasa along the road along the Tama River on the Chofu side. While crossing Koremasa Bridge towards Minamitama, I suddenly remembered "Restaurant Hanami". Where should I have lunch? That might have been on my mind (lol). I continued running towards Yanoguchi, and finished jogging. I went home, took a shower, changed, and went out for lunch. I got off the train in Minamitama, crossed Koremasa Bridge again, and went to the area around Koremasa Station. I thought the pork cutlet curry at "Hanami" was delicious, and while thinking about that, I went into the neighboring restaurant "Marufuku". It was around 2:20 pm, and there was one customer already seated. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu. They had set meals, rice bowls, omurice, curry, etc. It felt like a pretty casual Chinese restaurant. I like authentic Chinese food, but I also like this kind of place. I ordered the fried rice here. They only had Akahoshi beer in bottles (lol). They had medium and large sizes. I ordered the medium along with the fried rice. After a few more customers came in. It's close to the Tama River, so it seemed like people who came for sports like baseball came here. I imagine a different type of customers come when there are boat races happening as well. While eating pickled cabbage, I drank beer, and in about 5 minutes, the fried rice arrived. It had a darker color. The soup was also strong in flavor. The fried rice was an orthodox fried rice from a typical Chinese restaurant in town. It's like a fried rice dish, but it's quite delicious. "Hanami" was a very good impression of a restaurant, but this restaurant is not bad either. It feels like I've added another restaurant that I might remember while running across Koremasa Bridge.

The day before, I had decided to target the back (or front?) of Fuchu Honmachi. But... Lampione, Hateruma Island, Tsunaya, all closed... Everything was thwarted. No time to be stunned. Think, you have to think. There's Daichi, but today I don't feel like having gyoza. What came to mind was Hanami. Sounds good... like pilaf, hamburger... but it's far away. 20 minutes later, there was a man standing in front of "Hanami". "Due to circumstances, we will be closed for a while." Walking all the way here in the rain, is this kind of drama really happening? "I'm starving to death." With a sigh mixed in, I looked to the side and there was a restaurant right there. 13:40 I entered. 2 customers already inside. 2 more customers came in while I was eating. At the entrance, I decided to order the "Omurice (770 yen)" as soon as I saw the showcase. Sitting at a table, I was brought water by the lady and said, "Oh, I'll have the 'Gomoku Chahan (680 yen)'"... somewhat (^^;; The interior is not very spacious. There is a counter facing the kitchen, and table seats line the window side across the aisle. The floor was a bit slippery, but the tables were clean. The interior is not cluttered but rather neat, with a certain sense of cleanliness. The menu includes ramen, set meals, rice bowls, and even udon and soba. Moreover, there is a sign promoting "Zaru Soba", so the restaurant seems to be pushing "Zaru Soba". So, it may be classified as a diner rather than a Chinese restaurant. Completed in 5 minutes. The dish is small but surprisingly voluminous (^^ The fried rice is fluffy. It's well done. The pepper is spicy, and the saltiness is strong. The ingredients include shiitake mushrooms, onions, eggs, naruto, and diced meat. Sort of like a "Gomoku" style (^^;; The crunchy texture of the shiitake mushrooms adds an accent. And the green peas are actually green. They're not mushy. A firm texture. Now, it's clear that choosing fried rice will lead to a monotonous second half. About a third of the way through, I count the remaining green peas (2 consumed, 4 remaining). At this point, I finally take a sip of the Chinese soup served, but... hmm, as expected. It was salty, as I had imagined from its thick appearance. Deciding not to touch the soup until the end, I carefully consume the green peas and pickled ginger until just before the end... and consume them as needed. However, I didn't become overly nervous, and once I had a rough estimate, it was on autopilot. There won't be any major surprises with fried rice. Finish as is. It was a bit heavy, but I felt satisfied (good portion). The lady's smile was nice too (^^ "Next time, I'll go with the omelette... but I'm worried about 'Hanami'..." Thinking this, I leisurely walk through the wet streets of Koremasa, it was Nohara.
