This is a shop that deals with authentic spices and ingredients essential for ethnic cuisine. When passing by, you can smell the wonderful aroma of spices. The staff at the shop are always smiling and very friendly, making you feel welcome. In addition to spices, they also sell rice (\500), canned food (semi-processed ingredients), Nepalese beer, and a variety of ingredients, making you feel like you have traveled to a foreign country when you enter the shop.
They also offer a strong liquor called "Kukri Rum" at 42.8% alcohol, which won the Best in Show at the World Rum Awards in 2002. It has a smooth texture and a mild rice wine aroma, changing the impression I had of rum completely. In Nepal, it is enjoyed with hot water and butter added. The bottled rum is hand-finished one by one, which may explain the worn labels and seals, giving a sense of generosity.
They also have "Wai Wai Ramen Chicken/Vegetable," an instant noodle that can be enjoyed in various ways with soup, drained, or with added ingredients. Both packages are marked with "Halal" in the bottom left corner. Even though I'm not vegetarian, it is one of the top vegetarian-friendly instant noodles in the world.
Lastly, they offer "Real Gold Beer," which is a light and smooth beer nurtured by Nepal's clear water. It is not as popular as Everest Beer, but it is a refreshing beer worth trying, with a slightly different taste from Japanese or European beers. The shop's business hours have changed to 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It seems that local ethnic cuisine restaurants also use this shop not only for sourcing but also for their own homes and families.
