I visited during lunchtime on Saturday. It was a revisit. Located on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building, this cozy Japanese restaurant offers comfortable seating with tables. Lunch course for 3000 yen (tax included) included:
- Appetizer: Miso-marinated turnip - The aroma of the dashi was amazing! The turnip was well seasoned and melted in the mouth.
- Sashimi: Mackerel and sea bream - The sashimi was skillfully prepared and very delicious.
- Grilled dish: Teriyaki cod - This was incredibly delicious. The cod was moist and the sauce was fantastic. The grated radish on top added a nice touch.
- Simmered dish: Radish and swordfish simmered dish - The radish was perfectly seasoned and the swordfish on top was a great accent. The collaboration with the flavorful broth made it a truly delicious dish.
- Main dish: Mixed rice - A very tasty mixed rice with plenty of ingredients. I couldn't resist getting seconds.
Overall, the lunch course for 3000 yen (tax included) was unbelievably cost-effective. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. If you're in Shinjuku and unsure where to have lunch, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely revisit. Total cost for 2 people: 12,100 yen (2 lunch courses, 7 drinks)

I requested a traditional Japanese meal and was taken to a dinner. My companion was 10 minutes late, so I adjusted and arrived together. I felt sorry for the restaurant staff. It's better to have at least 3 hours of leeway from the start to finish of the course. The dishes were all delicious, made with seasonal ingredients. The rice dish was so good that I asked for the leftovers to be made into onigiri, which was very helpful! I would love to visit again when the seasons change.

It was my first time. I was introduced to it and decided to go. It was a counter-style restaurant. The setup was simple and efficient. The course was all about crab - shrimp sashimi, snow crab, blowfish, king crab, small crab croquette, rice with crab and green onions, crab and mushroom chawanmushi, crab rice, crab rice porridge, crab tea rice, and matcha with crab. Everything was delicious, with high-quality ingredients. The price was reasonable considering the quality of the food and drinks included.

I have visited Heso Fuufuu many times and once again, the food was delicious. This time, I also tried the suppon (softshell turtle). The dishes were light and refreshing, perfect for summer. The mozuku vinegar was also delicious. The rice dish with crab and corn at the end was amazing, I had three helpings. The dessert may look empty on the plate, but there's warabi mochi inside. I want to go back soon. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to visit this restaurant for a while and I was not disappointed. The course menu might not be enough for some men, but if you enjoy savoring small portions, I highly recommend it! The food is delicious, the chef is friendly, and the cost performance is great! Watching the chef work alone in the kitchen is a delightful sight. His efficient movements are mesmerizing and add to the excitement of the meal. I chose the lunch kaiseki course which was around 5500 yen. The dishes included:
- Appetizer: Delicious, even the soup was amazing.
- Sashimi
- Grilled dish: The teriyaki silver cod was exceptional.
- Simmered dish: Simmered sea bream with daikon radish, butterbur, and spinach. The daikon was incredibly tasty.
- Side dish: Simmered conger eel with seaweed and Japanese leeks. The dashi and ponzu-like acidity were delightful.
- Rice dish: Sea bream clay pot rice. The rice was so delicious that I couldn't finish it all, but they kindly packed the leftovers for me.
- Dessert: A satisfying end to the meal with a delicious dessert.

I made a reservation for Saturday at 6:00 PM and sat at the counter. It wasn't too crowded that day, so I was able to enjoy my meal leisurely. There was one other customer at the counter, so we all chatted with the chef while enjoying our food. The dishes we had this time were all gentle on the stomach and made with ingredients that highlighted their flavors. I enjoyed the seasonal firefly squid rice dish so much that I asked for seconds, and there was still some left so I had it made into onigiri to take home. Every dish from the course was delicious from start to finish. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Relaxing atmosphere, attentively served dishes. Prices can be a bit high for dinner, but it's very affordable for lunch. I forgot to take a photo, but the rice cooked in the pot at the end of the meal can be made into onigiri for you to take home. It was a meal with a long-time friend, and we were able to spend a nice, leisurely time together.

Here is a course meal only restaurant with no a la carte options. Reservations are generally required. The special selection softshell turtle kaiseki and special kaiseki I requested this time require reservations made at least 3 days in advance. The special selection softshell turtle kaiseki is priced at 24,200 yen including tax, with no service charge. Softshell turtle dishes are rare and valuable. Additionally, I made sure to confirm over the phone when making the reservation that the softshell turtle would be grilled over charcoal. I do not eat dishes where the ingredients are cooked over direct fire, such as yakitori, eel, or yakiniku, unless it is charcoal-grilled. Gas burner grilling is also acceptable. I always call ahead to confirm whether they use gas or charcoal, as I do not visit restaurants that use gas grills. Among charcoal grills, white charcoal made from ubame oak, known as binchotan, is the best. The far-infrared effect of charcoal, the aroma from the meat juices and sauce dripping onto the charcoal, enhances the flavor and aroma of the ingredients. The dishes provided were as follows: - Bonito dashi broth - Shirako tofu with sea urchin and shrimp - Sliced raw snapper - Sliced raw flounder - Charcoal-grilled softshell turtle with Sansho pepper - Fried softshell turtle - Softshell turtle liver salad - Softshell turtle hot pot - Softshell turtle rice porridge - Matcha and bracken rice cakes Notably, the softshell turtle hot pot was exceptional, with a broth made solely from softshell turtle for a concentrated umami flavor without any unpleasant odors. The meal ended with the delicious softshell turtle rice porridge, which was full of energy-boosting properties.

I went to my favorite restaurant again. The dishes are always so carefully prepared and have a gentle flavor. There is a lot of fish on the menu, which is really comforting. They have two types of sashimi with different soy sauces. The boiled octopus was delicious. I'm happy that I can enjoy seasonal ingredients here. This is a restaurant I want to visit every month. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I have been to this restaurant many times. They always serve seasonal dishes, so I can enjoy something different each time. They specialize in fish dishes, which are all light and delicious, making the whole course enjoyable until the end. I didn't feel stuffed at all. I even made onigiri with the leftover rice to take home. Thank you for the delicious meal.

※Reasonably priced traditional Japanese lunch※You can also take home the clay pot riceLocated very close to Shinjuku Sanchome Station, this is a very calm restaurant. I made a reservation for 1 pm on a weekday, so there were only two businessmen who seemed to be having a business meeting as other customers. The course meal was like traditional Japanese cuisine, and it was well-prepared down to the smallest details.※Appetizer: Turnip and MizunaA turnip cooked tenderly in a gentle broth. The Mizuna also had a good flavor.※Sashimi: Red snapper and MackerelThe crispy texture of the red snapper and the rich fat of the mackerel complement each other well. The decorative knife cuts on the plate are pleasing to the eye.※Grilled dish: Teriyaki Silver CodThe sweet teriyaki sauce on the silver cod makes you crave for more rice.※Simmered dish: Yellowtail with Daikon RadishA stylish yellowtail with daikon radish dish. The daikon cooked gently topped with grilled yellowtail and a hint of yuzu flavor is light and refreshing.※Rice dish: Kettle-cooked mixed riceMixed rice with winter vegetables and chicken broth. The rice, rich in chicken flavor, makes your mouth water. The turnip was very sweet and tender.Although there is no distinctive dish, this traditional Japanese cuisine lunch priced at 3000 yen is satisfying.

I heard about a famous Japanese restaurant and decided to go there. I tried their course menu which consisted mainly of fish dishes, all of which were fresh and delicious! There were also many unique ingredients that I had never tried before, making the experience enjoyable. The presentation was stylish and to my liking. I would love to visit again!

Wow, I couldn't believe there was a restaurant like this in Sancho-me! As I rode the elevator with mixed feelings, I was greeted by a clean and elegant Japanese restaurant. My expectations were rising. On weekends, families and groups of ladies were enjoying lunch together. There was also a gentleman who seemed like a regular customer. Sitting at the counter, I could see the open kitchen and engage in lively conversations. The dishes had a light and refined flavor, but you could tell that they were made with great care. Japanese cuisine is truly wonderful. The firefly squid I had at this restaurant was delicious...! I used to not like it much because of its fishy smell, but the way it was cooked here was perfect. I felt the joy of the season with the spring bamboo shoot dish, and had a very happy time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I finally ended up coming to a Japanese restaurant. I don't usually go to places like this, but for some reason, I was drawn into this restaurant. I had stumbled upon it while exploring the area before and had thought to myself that I wanted to try it someday. The restaurant was on the third floor of a building, and as soon as I saw the lunch kaiseki menu displayed at the entrance, I decided to give it a try. The lunch kaiseki included a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, grilled fish, simmered dish, soup, rice with chicken and mushrooms, pickles, dessert, and green tea. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy, with just the owner and a young chef. Despite not being able to drink alcohol, I enjoyed the delicious food and the attentive service. The owner mentioned that times were tough, but I felt that restaurants like this, which stay true to their values, will survive. I hope to visit again when they start serving alcohol and open for dinner. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit tense, but the food was incredibly delicious. For 3000 yen, it was worth it. The amberjack sashimi was delicious. It had a refreshing sweetness, perfect for the winter season. The grilled cod was also excellent. I usually only have cod marinated in miso, so the grilled cod was a nice change. It was so tasty. The pickled ginger that came with it was also amazing. It had a hint of vinegar and paired perfectly with the cod. The soup dish had swordfish, eggplant, and radish, very traditional Japanese cuisine. The mixed rice with sea bream was a first for me and it was delicious. I also ordered a dessert of matcha and sweet potato yokan. The sweet potatoes from Tanegashima have a high sugar content and a moist texture, making them perfect for yokan. Overall, the restaurant served classic and exquisite Japanese cuisine, making the dining experience truly enjoyable.

I requested to eat Japanese food and was brought here. The interior of the restaurant was very bright and clean, giving me high expectations for delicious food. Since it was late and not crowded, we were seated in a private room, which was a bit disappointing for me as I prefer sitting at the counter. The first dish was bonito dashi, which surprised me as I thought it was a pre-meal drink, but it was so delicious that I wished there was more. Then we had steamed clam rice, red snapper sashimi, fan-shaped shrimp sashimi, grilled salmon, bonito cutlet sandwich, simmered turban shell with spring vegetables, cabbage pickles, miso soup with enoki mushrooms, firefly squid mixed rice, dorayaki, and matcha. Everything was delicious, and I was surprised to see a tonkatsu sandwich in a Japanese meal, but it was tasty and added a fun element. Although I usually can't eat a lot, I managed to finish everything because it was so good. The highlight was definitely the firefly squid mixed rice, which was incredibly delicious. The menu changes every two weeks, so I look forward to visiting again soon.

Located near Shinjuku 3-chome, this restaurant has a great atmosphere. The turtle soup is delicious and melts in your mouth. There are three types of sashimi, each served on separate plates in a specific order, with different types of soy sauce provided for each. I enjoyed the Hiroshima Junmai Daiginjo Hattannishiki and Chiba's Fukushuku sake, which paired well with the elegant meal. The grilled shirako is exquisite. Surprisingly, the katsu sandwich was also delicious. The hot and crispy oyster fry with burdock was a treat. I couldn't resist having four helpings of the zero-yoji mixed rice, it was so tasty (laughs). Finally, the matcha and pudding dessert was delightful. Overall, it was a satisfying and delicious kaiseki meal. Thank you for the feast!

The sandwich that tasted like teriyaki fish was really delicious. I will never forget that moment. I would be happy if they keep it on the menu. The seating was comfortable with sofas, and the atmosphere was cozy with many regular customers. It was a pleasant place to be.

After returning from Kyoto, I got off at Shinagawa Station and headed to the restaurant "Sousou Fuufuu" in Shinjuku, where we had arranged a dinner. Despite it being just a one-night business trip, I felt a bit tired, maybe due to my age or because I fell asleep on the Shinkansen. However, once I sat at the counter at Sousou Fuufuu, my energy returned. It was my second visit, and the chef remembered me, engaging in conversation and recommending a sake not on the menu. The food exceeded my expectations and was truly delicious. Good food and sake are indeed the best. The dinner went really well, and we were able to have deep conversations. It was a fantastic night.

I was looking for a delicious Japanese restaurant in Shinjuku, and I came across this place. The evening course is 10,000 yen! (excluding tax and service charge) The cost performance is amazing! First, you are served with the most fragrant bonito broth. It is incredibly delicious. Then comes the appetizer, sashimi... The sashimi is served on three different plates, each beautifully presented in lovely dishes. The soy sauce is also tailored to each dish, with options like egg yolk soy sauce or ponzu. The grilled salted blackthroat seaperch is also amazing with its rich flavor. They use a variety of seasonal fish in their dishes, making it a truly delightful Japanese meal! The rice cooked in a pot is also exquisite. If you can't finish it, they will make onigiri for you to take home as a souvenir. The dessert changes depending on the season, but this time it was black sugar pudding. It had a refined sweetness and was very delicious. It paired perfectly with the matcha we had. I was amazed by the cost performance! The friendly owner shared a lot of stories with us while we sat at the counter. The counter is made of cypress wood, which is said to be able to buy a German car! It creates a very calming atmosphere. If you're looking for Japanese cuisine in Shinjuku, I highly recommend "Chisou Fuufuu"! It was a wonderful restaurant that I would love to visit again.

I found a restaurant called "Chisou Fufu" in Shinjuku Sanchome near my company, and I made a reservation to treat my junior who is moving to a new department in December. The place looked nice from the photos, and when I visited yesterday, I was impressed by the clean and well-organized entrance. I sat at the counter and ordered a glass of Goryo Junmai Daiginjo sake. The first dish was bonito broth, which was flavorful and delicious. The chef's skills were evident as I watched him work in the kitchen. The dish of clams and komatsuna was refreshing and appetizing. The sashimi was served on separate plates, each beautifully presented and delicious. The flounder and yellowtail with egg soy sauce were particularly outstanding. The kawahagi and liver were creamy and exceptional. The foie gras and abalone sushi had a rich flavor. The simmered dish was deep and tasty. The sake selection was good, but I wished there were more options. The deep-fried zucchini crab and whitebait was crispy and fluffy. The sakura shrimp rice, which had been cooking in the kitchen, was delicious, and I even had some made into onigiri. The pickles paired well with the rice. The meal ended with a pudding and matcha dessert, both delicious. The omakase dishes were all prepared with care and dedication, and the elegant and tasty kaiseki meal was surprisingly affordable for Shinjuku. It was a rare find in the area, and I was glad to have discovered such a high-quality restaurant.
