I've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and I still never get tired of it. Today was our regular drinking session with my best friend. We started with a draft beer and ordered a bunch of dishes, but everything fit nicely in our stomachs. The freshly made katsu sandwich and spare ribs are so delicious every time, I've lost count of how many times I've had them. They also offer takeout, so this time I got the katsu sandwich, menchi katsu sandwich, ebi katsu sandwich, and curry to go. It's always a highlight of my weekends. I'll definitely be back. A sister restaurant of the nearby tonkatsu restaurant Katsu Susumu. It serves set meals during the day and transforms into an izakaya at night, with a focus on fried foods. The first floor has a small kitchen area, so the space is not very large, but there is also a second floor which can accommodate a decent number of people. I sat at the counter for three people and ordered the oyster fry set meal, as well as a bite-sized tonkatsu. For the side dish, I chose the meat and potato stew from the options of daikon radish salad, lotus root with yuzu miso, and meat and potato stew. I arrived before 12pm, so it was quiet at first, but soon more and more people started coming in. After a while, the set meal arrived with a large, perfectly golden brown oyster fry on top. I mixed it with tartar sauce and took a bite right away. It was juicy, satisfying, and delicious. The set meal also came with meat and potato stew, miso soup, and chawanmushi, so it was quite a good deal. I might have ordered too much, but I also managed to enjoy the tonkatsu a bit. I ended up feeling quite full.

The shop owner is a beautiful pair of sisters, so the interior of the shop was indeed clean and calm. We, a group of four women, visited for an early year-end party. The small dishes and sashimi were delicious, and the tonkatsu was incredibly tender and tasty. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which was a great choice. I was surprised to find out that there is also a second floor. When I looked at the menu outside, I was thinking of getting the curry set, but once inside, I noticed there were other menu items not listed outside. I decided to order the pork loin bowl set. It came with pork bowl, chawanmushi, potato croquette, and miso soup. The order arrived in about 10 minutes. The pork bowl used domestic shoulder loin, and the sweetly seasoned pork pieces were delicious. When eaten with the cabbage provided, it had a nice crispy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. The croquette was hot and crispy, and tasted great with salt and sauce. The portion was just right for someone with a small appetite like me. I finished with the chawanmushi, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have my favorite ginkgo nuts. I was tempted by the pork bowl and curry, but I decided to go with the classic tonkatsu set with less rice, priced at 950 yen. It arrived fairly quickly. At first, I thought about asking for a little less rice. However, the tonkatsu was quite large. It had a powerful size and thickness, with a crispy and light batter. Priced at just under 1000 yen, it may not be very juicy or have a sweet fat taste, but the tonkatsu had a moist meat texture that paired well with the sauce, making it a delicious tonkatsu. Additionally, the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and engaging, which added to the charm of the place. I might try the katsu-don or katsu curry next time.

When you think of Masuda, you think of Keiko Masuda from Pink Lady, singing "Suzume" right? But how about UFO instead!? Inside the restaurant, the nearest station is Yushima Station on the Chiyoda Subway Line. Take the Kanda-Myojin Line towards Kura-Mae Bridge Street. Turn right on the narrow road just before the Tsumakoizaka intersection to find the store. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station. Inside the restaurant, there are 4 counter seats and 2 table seats. I was guided to the counter as the only customer. Now, what should I eat? There is no store parking lot. The nearby paid parking lots are priced at 1,200 yen per hour, which is relatively high. The entire restaurant is non-smoking. Today's order is the "Tonkatsu Set" for 950 yen. Thick pork loin wrapped in coarse breadcrumbs. It has a good thickness and is satisfying. The frying is also good, making it delicious. The price includes consumption tax. This hidden gem eatery is located on a side street off the main road. It's a sister shop of "Katsushin" nearby, which explains why the fried food is so delicious. The lunch menu includes not only fried food but also grilled fish, so it's convenient. The additional side menu is also attractive, especially the shrimp fry. There are no free refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage, but you can have as much pickles as you like (it's delicious, the best friend of rice). There is a small restaurant that looks like a renovated private house, located one street off from Kuramae Bridge Street. Although the sign and the name suggest a small Japanese cuisine restaurant, the menu displayed outside indicates that it is actually a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant. I arrived at around 12:45 and entered the empty restaurant. After disinfecting my hands, I sat at the counter. I ordered the specialty set meal with a smaller portion of rice for 950 yen. The meal consisted of a croquette in the middle, shrimp fry on the left, and two pieces of tonkatsu on the right, with tartar sauce under the shrimp fry. It also came with shredded cabbage, miso soup, and rice. The breading on the fried items was crispy and the tonkatsu was made from a lean cut of meat, which paired well with the sauce. The croquette was delicious and the shrimp fry was decently sized. Considering the quality and quantity of the meal, I found the price of 950 yen to be quite reasonable. They also offer hamburgers and pork bowl dishes, so I will definitely visit again.

Today, I went to a hospital near Ochanomizu Station for an appointment. I was thinking of having lunch in Akihabara or around Ueno for curry. While walking, I came across a small and clean tonkatsu restaurant on the way. The staff inside kindly suggested that it was hot outside and I should come in. I noticed curry on the menu, so I decided to enter. They served curry, but not tonkatsu curry. Instead, you order curry and a bite-sized tonkatsu separately. I ordered curry and a bite-sized tonkatsu and waited for a while. The waiting time was about 10 minutes. The name of the restaurant is Masuda, but it also has Katsushin in the name, so it might be related to the nearby Katsushin restaurant. When the curry arrived, I was a bit surprised. Everything was separate. Interesting. The curry was also served separately. It wasn't curry rice, I see. However, the bite-sized tonkatsu was really delicious. Assembling the rice, tonkatsu, and curry sauce in the dish resulted in a delicious tonkatsu curry! Indeed, the tonkatsu from a tonkatsu restaurant is delicious. It seems to be a sister restaurant of Katsushin. The tonkatsu is delicious for sure!

Whenever I'm feeling a bit down from work, I know that I can come here and order the tonkatsu set to make things better. It was undeniably delicious and I believe it's the best tonkatsu restaurant for a quick lunch break near my office. I'm looking forward to visiting their main store "Katsushin" in the future.

Last week, I had a meal set where I could choose a main dish and a side dish. I chose simmered pork cutlets and simmered eggplant with plenty of broth and less rice. Today, I had a pork cutlet bowl with grated daikon radish in a dashi broth, also with less rice. I remember that extra helpings cost extra. This tonkatsu restaurant in town always delivers consistent deliciousness.
